I sold my very first set today. A 75056 Star Wars Advent Calendar for $79.xx BIN on eBay. I am no longer just a hoarder/collector - I've crossed over and I'm glad to be here.9 points

last night after going out to dinner with my wife we stopped off at target to pick up wrapping paper and some other non-lego junk. as we strolled by the lego section i spy an endcap of 20 or so target minifigure packs - scan at $15. put 6 in cart to wife's dismay. "you already ordered 12 of those yesterday online" "yes honey, but time is of the essence." eyes rolled, nose in air, slight scowl. listed a lot of 6 for $159 bin free shipping before bed, wake up and it has sold. made $38.36 on the flip after fees, taxes, shipping. told her she can take that out of paypal account and that we bought her dad's xmas gift with the flip. point. set. match.7 points

Dear UPS, No there wasn't a spider on the LEGO box containing my Creative Tower, but thanks for stomping on it anyway. Yours Truely, I like FedEx better.2 points

Yes. In your "Your eBay item sold!" e-mail, click the "Print Shipping Label" button or click "Print Shipping Label" link next to payment in Paypal. Lowest is $1.93 online and includes tracking. There are multiple ways to get there, these are just two ways.2 points

Word has leaked out from Lego that this set will be available in Northern Europe December 13th. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-12-02/for-lego-s-frozen-under-the-tree-try-santa-s-homeland.html Anyone have a private jet?1 point

Last January Toys R US Canada had Buy one get one half off. So the effective discount was 25%. Total price was approx $420 CDN after tax for me. I never saw them cheaper than that, but I didn't really scour the Internet for deals after that as I bought my goal.1 point

The topic title and the body text ask for two different things: The topic title? Probably Heartlake Pet Salon. - Could reach $150 in 3 years. Other small sets have possibilities too. Explanation - there are very few pet based sets and friends sets in general have performed well. See Heartlake Vet Another real possibility will be a $15-20 set with exclusive minifigures or possibly a retiring minecraft set. Exclusives? Haunted House. For greatest gross profit, in dollar value, I choose the SSD - $1000 profit easy (at least according to my review of the set), but I don't see it reaching $2000 before the Haunted House reaches $850 Explanation - Haunted House is one of a kind. It has immense display quality and great detail, it looks fantastic and isn't limited to a Halloween display like other sets. Super Star Destroyer is a massive ship and as it has already appreciated 100% in 6 months, it could be the next $2000 set, joining the Taj Mahal, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Carousel, and the mothership. The Cafe Corner and the SSD are probably the only $2000 sets by 2019, if Lego is still appreciating. Edit to add - never underestimate the power of the new SW trilogy to old sets.1 point

It is painful talking to them. I had some gift cards that I tried to use on their site. submitted the order, didn't went through, however, balance is 0 now. According to one of their CS. balance is on hold. according to the rest of their team, they have no idea. battling on to get my money back.1 point

I'm holding steady on my SW advents. I did dump my friends sets. Had many less of them and the outlook doesn't look shiny. See the same Galoroca seller must have had a pallet of those as well and he still has plenty left.1 point

use medium sized bubble mailers. usps first class mail is a good option. always use paypal or usps for printing labels since you get a small discounts (and usually free tracking). this link might help (in general). http://blog.brickpicker.com/brickvesting/a-guide-to-shipping-carriers-its-a-drag-but-you-gotta-do-it/ note : i'm also merging this thread with existing ones that discuss shipping polybags.1 point
-
yes to clarify. there are no free bubble mailers from USPS for FirstClass, but there are free clear envelopes to put your labels in. I personally use #0 bubble mailers and half sheet labels1 point

there is somewhat obscure (but working) way to ship stuff using ebay discounted rates (USPS and UPS) via Paypal, even if you did not sell something via eBay (say, bricklink). I don't know if they are going to keep this interface after eBay and PayPal separation https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now there is also "bulk ship" command, but i did not use that one https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_bulk-ship1 point
-
you should be charging $2 per poly. firstclass is $1.94 across the board. (2oz) If you charge "calculated shipping" your buyer will pay less and then you'll pay more due to +$ for tracking. (Not a big deal for promo or after holiday polys) yes you should be printing your labels through ebay. You can also print on paper at home and use free pouch at post office.1 point

Well, I was hoping for some good BOGO from Target this week to pick up some more long term holds/Christmas 2015 stuff. Now I feel like it is time to make a move on a few key sets that seem to be sold out at Lego (I am assuming this is good EOL indicator). I am pretty much done picking up 2013 Friends sets but looking to add more Sail Barges (18 month run if gone), Batcaves, and Family Houses. I think the Falcon is risky since a new one is most likely coming out. I am selling mine this Christmas. Might be the wrong choice though. Any other sets with Lego supply issues to key on? All of these are "Sold Out" on Lego USA. Hard to find Sets: 21105, 21106 - Minecraft 7965 -- Falcon Easier to find sets: 41005-41008 Friends sets 31012 - Family House Available: 21103 -DeLoreon (sold out at Target) 75020 - Sail Barge 6860 - Batcave 79008 - LotR Pirate Ship (Call to check availability) 71000 - Arctic Batman (Call to check availability)1 point

I did, it still shows sold out on the item's page. Maybe because it's limited stock, they don't want people in other countries knowing that it's only available in some countries. Bit weird though. Am I the only one seeing sold out?1 point

Figured I had procrastinated long enough and finally ordered one from LEGO Shop at Home (in the U.S). Didn't want to miss out on this, as it looks like it is very close to EOL. If you want any of these, better get it soon!1 point

60062 Ice Breaker - $180 plus shipping on ebay. BIN listing only lasted 2 hours. Should have asked for more I guess. Paid $100 for it 2 weeks ago1 point

The people that think there will be a re-release are more of the "I don't have it, I want it, but I don't want to pay for it crowd", with a little "I am going to load up on them to make a ton in the aftermarket" (not realizing that everyone else will and it will be a Death Star scenario). If you want one, buy one.... Or don't1 point

not with darth vader and young han solo and young princess leia. also as someone already pointed out, the MF in the movie trailer has a square antenna, not a circle, so unlikely to be the same. for now 7965 is the second biggest lego MF ever made. and with a little help and god willing, the next MF will be some $69.99 600 piece Midi-monstrosity right at grandma's price point aimed at kids not adults which will further propel 7965 into post EOL hyperspace.1 point

In case this was missed in the DD thread...this is OOS at TRU.com finally. Low price on Amazon is $74.99. Would like to see it climb closer to $100, we'll see how long that takes though.1 point
