Both The R2 Droid and the Batman Ayslum will be big money makers, any Investor not getting these will regret it. I have 42 Droids and 35 AA and still buying them.5 points

Agreed. Was in TRU the other day picking up the last 3 advents and overheard a lady ask the employee for one and gladly gave her one. In the end its cool to make money on this stuff but still want people to be able to experience it also.4 points

I just scored a (supposedly complete) 10194 Emerald Night Express with box/instructions for $804 points

If you're in the US, 1 set of nine fits in the USPS flat rate bubble mailer easily. Plenty of protection and only $5ish, and no shipping supplies to buy. If you're keen on having a protective box, there's are chipboard boxes called 'Scotty Stuffers' that are designed to be the largest possible box you can fit in a flat rate bubble mailer.3 points

Saw this pic on reddit today. Sure the DO isn't a huge modular or anything, but man the Slave I looks massive.3 points

I have heard of many collectors that returned sealed packs. Just do you smooshing at home and return the ones you don't want.2 points

I'm sure that you could yell at some poor Walmart CS until they let you return your item. If it's worth $4 to you to be an @$$hole, go for it.2 points

this makes the case for sticking with Original trilogy for investing in sw lego. It looks cool in person - fun build - and an investment turd because no one thinks back to that great classic star wars scene with Obi-wan's starfighter. going forward i'm not investing in anything from episodes 1-3. You know its the weekend before black friday on ebay when I sold a lot of 5 CHIMA WORRIZ FIRE BIKE poly freebies for $18 BIN with free shipping. also sold a Space Center 3368 for $100 + 10 shipping but for 60, last of my amazon price mistake hobbit 5 armies for 58 bought for 15, and a free mini T1 poly for $34 BIN free shipping. getting ready to list the Tumblers and Minecraft on craigslist and coloring in some poster boards signs that i can hold up and wave at the entrance on friday morning at the TRU parking lot. GOT TUMBLERS? GOT MINECRAFT?2 points

Well, to be fair a lot of those 4287 pieces in the Tower Bridge are the 1x1 sloped thingies. I bet that if you looked at price per gram the difference would be smaller. Still, I agree with you that the TB is better value for money. I don't think Lego decreasing the standard price for a set has ever happened. If you find the set too expensive, keep your eyes open for a discount or pass on it altogether.2 points

Just completed an insane epic day. Picked up the 15 Olivia House's I ordered the other day, got 2 Museum Break Ins and 2 AT APs from off the shelves at Walmarts cuz I couldn't resist. Lego in-store found an R2. Lego online did 3 orders, AA, PS & HE. Hit up a TRU and the PMed Olivia's House so I got 4 more making a total of 19. Then grabbed a Mil Falcon, 3 Ghostbusters and 2 Trevi Fountains along with 6 Rocket Raccoons. Also had my 6-year-old and 1-year-old in tow. There was no room left to fart in my car by the end of the day. God help me. My wallet needs a nap.2 points

I think AC/DC pretty much makes up for any disappointment they'll ever have.2 points

Why don't you learn how to smoosh properly so you get the ones you want. It's not that difficult. Returning opened packages because you didn't get the one you wanted is tacky at best.1 point

It would be awesome if you said that you bought it from Pseudoty in the parking lot. Ex Astris, Scientia.1 point

Amazon Sales Rank: #40 Best Selling Toy for Star Wars Advent #69 Best Selling Toy For City Advent Im confused on your FBA statement: Im in the Star Wars ones for about $33 each. have 13, If I sold them today for the buybox price I'd get $60.50 after fees, take of $.50 for inbound shipping to Amazon and I'm at $60.00 after fees. Original Investment $429, within two weeks turned into $780, profit of $351. I guess I don't see anything bad about that. P.S. I know I am not factoring in time, but there should be less time taken using FBA than Fulfilling it yourself.1 point

lots of work for a slim margin... i rather take that $3-$4k and buy 1 or 2 exclusives plus there would be less sets to mail1 point

Yeah, I think this set may surprise a few people. I can see this being pretty scarce a year or so after EOL, and it is quite an impressive set. Definitely worth a punt if you had the 20% yesterday.1 point
-
I like the disapproval for this set, coupled with the unexpected potential retirement means I'm making SOH a priority next weekend.1 point
-
This thing can turn into gold when it goes EOL within a year. It is skipped by much investors; the high ppp ratio makes it not popular set. You don't want to miss out when it suddenly disappears.. but that's just my opinion.1 point

Slave 1 over the Sandcrawler for me. I'm still selling some of the last Slaves. The Lego Slaves are indeed so much nicer than the movie version1 point

Exciter1 and emazers with back to back posts. Arkham will be backordered tonight1 point
-
Yes, definitely. Lego has produced a winner in this set, both for serious collectors and investors. Perhaps they got the message after the B-wing and X-wing and felt they needed to do something more. The Slave I is similar to the UCS Tumbler in quality it appears, but let's hope for those who actually want to buy it for their own collection, it is not handled production- and release-wise like the Tumbler. Though, flippers would love that scenario for much of 2015. I'll be up at midnight on Jan. 1 in my drunken state trying to order this one.1 point

Finally spotted the RI and the Exosuit at our local LEGO store. I was able to locate some of the last Exosuits in TRU about a month ago but this was the first time I've seen an RI set in person! I received a special VIP invite to an early store opening at 8:30 am. Turned out we each received a personalised name tag lanyard, a choice of 1 of 4 free holiday macrofigure creator sets, and an ornament microbuild. Lo and behold, there were maybe 10 RIs and about the same number of Exos on the shelf. I have seen neither at the store before. Needless to say I grab one of each (There is a limit of 1 per household for each of the sets), and an extra set to make up the 99$ to receive the special holiday set. Too bad I did not have a guest (who else gets up that early on a Saturday to buy LEGO??) who could pick up extras for me. The other VIPs didn't seem to be picking up neither of the sets either. Sounds like they are still under the radar. Good news for me. I spoke to the store manager, who said they only received the shipment couple of days ago. We both doubt the stock will last through the morning. Given today it's 2x VIP points AND free holiday sets giveaway.1 point

Just sold my last Wolverine's Chopper on Craigslist for $80 CDN. I had asked for $100 but had used this price in full expectation of being asked to haggle down. You have to stay one step ahead of these people. $80 is what I was getting for these on ebay before fees so I'm actually ahead on this one. Oh Logan, how I'll miss thee. From $7 purchase to $80 sale. Go make some child/man-child happy.1 point

What this thread tells me is there is money in selling from here to the Asian market We can beat their MSRP and still make a lot on returns. Win-win!1 point
