There are still plenty to be gotten if you are willing to drive (and are fortunate enough to live close to a bm store). My haul from yesterday.6 points

Am I the only one that finds it funny when grown men ask each other if they should build a Lego set or not. I do not know what ur enjoyment level is with building a set. Me personally... It's work. You would have to pay me to build a lego set. It's work x amount. Is that amount worth it to u to build and have one of ur own.... No one here can advise. Would u rather have 300 bucks or a town hall. Simple as that dude.3 points

GE: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" TH: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" HH: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" R2: "Oh no, it's going EOL!! [later] Yay, got a bunch!" Maybe we like repetition after all...3 points

Lowest eBay BIN is already up to $235 qty 1 and next is $250 qty 3. Amazon lowest is $257.50. This is the droid you are looking for.3 points

I studied it for 2 years. Insanely difficult to learn. Hard to retain too unless you can use it every day. Try looking on youtube for a video so you can hear it. Be careful too, the same phrase can have different meanings depending on context. There are also different hierarchies dependent on the age of the speaker. You would not greet a 20 year old like you would a 60 year old.2 points

The loss is not that big. He only loses Sealed-used difference which is not that critical down the road.2 points

Wait, I lost track.. Is he practicing to become head of shipping for Target/Walmart/Amazon/TRU?? So confused....2 points

Well, when the 4th arrives, without opening the package, give it a big shake. Stomp on it. Stand on it a little. Then open the box and look inside. Enjoy.2 points

Sales really picking up in November, already more this month so far than Sep/Oct combined. Have sold 4 Helm's Deep this week @ $170, a $60 Orc Forge, as well as some cheaper battle packs. Need to keep it up for all the spending that's been going on, UPS dropped off more boxes today.2 points

Bought a couple more sets of Mixels series 2 at TRU using the 10% off and Batwing promo. I think I'm going to list my sets this week at a high price and wait for eBay to catch up as we get close to Christmas.2 points

Cool. Yeah, I suppose I may have to start clearing some stock next year too. It's starting to feel like living in a warehouse round here.2 points

it appears you mention something negative about this set in nearly every other post you type (in this thread). i think it's safe to mention that pretty much everyone (reading this thread) knows you have issues with 10225.2 points

The LOTR Pirate ship is not nearly as impressive as the POTC ship. For that reason, I think it lags well behind.2 points

horderve? oooo, my aching french. Hors D'oeuvres. So I've only got one extra R2 in my pile that I got a while back in the US... just too many other deals to take advantage of lately and not enough $. TRU in Canada still has them in stock, but it's $229.99 + 13% tax for me = 259.89 (about $230 US). I just can't seem to pull the trigger at that price... Would anyone here? It has to pass $260 US not including shipping to bring that into the black.2 points

Unlike R2, DS works great as a cat tree if you clear out the internal features and minifigs (although my cats enjoy hiding those in out of the way places). I'm assuming this use has some effect on the resale value, but shouldn't be too bad.2 points

Cheap buy in price, part of a very collectable theme, 2 exclusive and popular minifigs, won't be around for a long time, playability and display value, small boxes.... plenty of good reasons to have a few of these stashed away in the closet.1 point

at some point even an open TH will be worth more than MSRP. maybe that time is now. if you wanna build it build it and you can always sell it built. Look at all the corner markets and green grocers that have been built and sold. Not that you can compare Town hall with them but just saying.1 point

I am not convinced that Target price matches Amazon. I think they raise their prices when their regular supply of key sets gets disrupted. This only seems to come into play on exclusives and a few other odd sets like Exo and Emma's Horse Trailer. It happens mainly when they are out of set for awhile and then get it back. Like the DS they probably thought they weren't getting more and raised the price to $550, and now they have their normal supply returning and price went back down. I think almost every exclusive except the most recent have had price spikes on Target including Pet Shop and Simpson's House. With a ToO price at $250, I guess they expect their supply to be constrained and inconsistent for the foreseeable future. Their are way too many inconstancies to draw any clear conclusion one way or the other.1 point

Hi Mattgang, Thanks for the thread. I understand a fellow mod contacted you and PMs were exchanged. Of course, making custom stickers is fine when they are not based on actual Lego ones. People do this all the time when creating MOCs (my own creations) and Lego Ideas entries. It's the selling aspect that sometimes create the "gray" area. Brickpicker encourages MOC posts. some background.... first, there can be legal ramifications with reproduction / fake. lego stickers are protected by copyright and shouldn't be reproduced for financial gain unless approved by the the lego group. we also don't want possible problems with the lego group if it's perceived this web site promotes his practice. web sites like rebelscum (for vintage kenner star wars toys) pretty much have the same belief the last time i checked. secondly, making reproduction stickers have their own pros and cons. unfortunately, the cons are starting to outweigh the benefits. there is an increasing number of people knowing (and even unknowing) selling repro stickers and printed element tiles on other web sites. many times, these reproduction items are sold as legitimate with sets where a simple sticker or printed plate is the only evidence if a loose set is "real or not" (e.g. Marina Bay Sands and UCS Mill. Falcon). Many buyers would feel "cheated" thinking they purchased the real thing. please review this existing thread below for more details. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/11945-helping-to-identify-replica-stickers-and-printed-elements/ Lets keep this thread locked for now. Feel free to post pics of your MOCs in those threads.1 point

Or better yet, use the punch tabs that we see on the smaller sets on every set. That way there is no doubt that the box is untampered with. The low-life's that take the time to weigh a bunch of garbage to put into the box will most certainly find a way to get past glued flaps.1 point

I said it yesterday and I'll say it again: why is it a crazy idea for lego to end R2 before the new movie? It's another long year until the movie come out. Millions of SW fans already got 10225. If you are TLG, do you expect those fans to buy a 2nd 10225 because of the new SW movie? Or do you release something new to get their cash?1 point

in today was box 1 of 2 from Amazon containing the mine and ender dragon ... box art is great ... and just by looking at these and the popularity of MC in general, these sets will go very far even when EOL ... this is one series i will definitely stock up on as deals come along ... for now, im taking my 2 full MC sets and pairing it with a full set of MC microworlds and heading to CL to list it as a bundle .... fingers crossed!!! double down!!1 point

Slave I could easily be in the next SW movies. Officially, Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc. Tumbler could easily be in a Batman movie. Why not? But the DS blew up, and all the Imperial characters that come with the set are dead. People only think it's a neverending set because it hasn't ended yet. In 24 hours, R2 went from available everywhere online to nowhere. One day soon that will happen with DS. Edit: 6212 was another anomalous set with 6 years of life, just like DS today, but then it retired. It's been held back in value by the new X-Wing, but do folks really expect a new UCS Death Star anytime soon?1 point
-
Does it really matter if it is retiring right this instant? It's a nice set, it's probably retiring soon, it will appreciate over time. That's all I need to know. Wait....I also need to know when the horde is on the move. I really enjoy being a part of the horde and seeing us devour the poor little sets.1 point

I don't remember if I put this in my top 10 when those lists were being made, but it is one of the best looking sets Lego has ever made. It is a little disappointing where it stands, but it was around for Death Star-like years and as said, the market for Castle is not what it is for Star Wars and SuperHeroes. I fear Kingdoms Joust will suffer the same fate as it's a great set, but it's been around for years and kids probably don't even know what a joust is. Anybody play Joust on Atari or at the arcade when they were kids? That was a fun game.1 point
