He was referring to R2-D2... R2-D2 has a single robotic eye and is on wheels. He meant R2-D2 wont be the only one retiring...7 points

Presented as food for thought. Green bars are speculative. Ask yourself what you think the 2015 offering of Star Wars exclusives are going to look like?6 points

Isn't that pretty much what you said about the Town Hall? Wait, I have exactly what you said about the Town Hall. mscheaf, on 04 Oct 2014 - 11:48 PM, said: So maybe, just possibly, perhaps you don't know everything about everything.6 points

The negativity comes from the person in question not just giving their opinion, but essentially implying that everyone else is stupid for buying into believing certain sets are retiring, all the while proving over and over that they actually have no idea what they're talking about.5 points

The same people saying "R2 will be around for a while there is a new SW movie coming out" are probably the same people that were saying there was no way Haunted House would retire/vanish before Halloween.5 points

You guys aren't seriously debating whether or not the Sandcrawler is retiring, are you? I'm shaking my head here...4 points

worst case scenario: you'll end up with an army of R2D2 which also might be pretty cool... just imagine how you can replace all your furniture by LEGO R2D2! Table? putting a plate on 4 LEGO R2D2! chair... same decoration infront of your house? R2D2! (like those two lions infront of chinese restaurants) it will be hilarious! :-) so this is a win-win-win situation4 points

It's not that simple. This set can be a long term winner. I mean, lego will certainly make a new MF. But the new one will be the one from the new trilogy and have a new crew inside -it will not include Leia for example-. And what if it's rusted with brown pieces ? It will look not exactly the same as the one in the original trilogy. Also, look at the new versions of the Imperial star destroyer, the B-wing... They are small/not that big compared with the older versions. And it's been a long time since we didn't get a medium-sized MF (500 pieces). That's why I think we'll have: 1) a $69-$99 version of the MF (autumn 2015 ?), about 600-900 pieces. Most likely from the new trilogy, but a MF from the original trilogy is possible if a UCS MF from the new trilogy is scheduled shortly after. and 2) a UCS MF from the new trilogy (2016 ? 2017 ?), $250, about 2500 pieces So whatever the scenario, in my opinion it is very unlikely to see a MF from the original trilogy bigger than the 7965. We'll have to wait something like 4 years to see one bigger (if it happens). Aside note: Set / year / pieces 7965 / 2011 / 1254 7778 / 2009 / 356 10179 / 2007 / 5195 4504 / 2004 / 985 7190 / 2000 / 6634 points

I've been lucky over the last few weeks, and sales have really picked up. Of course, I hadn't really started listing things until the last couple of months either. Now that I'm listing, I realized - my books aren't as in good order as they need to be. I kept okay books - I knew when I had bought stuff, and how much I bought it for. But I realized it was time for a complete overhaul. I also needed to go through and do a complete inventory (again) to make sure I had everything in the right place, and tracked. And to make my life easier when it comes time to filling orders. So, while I've been following all the excitement over the last few weeks, I've also been busy getting all my receipts in order (or printed or digitized). I've been updating my spreadsheets into nice little monsters, with nice summaries of my current status. I've been tying sales and purchases to specific receipts and invoices (thank you eBay). What hit me was the amount of sales I was doing, and realizing that this is now a legit business - eBay and Paypal are going to be reporting me, so I better make sure everything is airtight. Don't wait until it's tax time. Get on your books now, and make sure, if you're really in, you're all in.3 points

I just called lego and they told me this one is done and wont come back. A few months ago i spoke to a lego store manager she told me the next sets will go eol: HH check she was right GE check she was right TH check she was right R2 check were not sure but really looks like it. She told me all this at a point that there where no signs at LEGO Shop at Home about these sets. O and there's one more thing, she said that DS will go soon as wel.3 points

Just an alternative to people so sure about TLG keeping R2 for the movie: There are countless lego & SW fans already got the R2. So with the movie coming out, they could put their resources to produce R2 to get more fans to buy it, or they could release something new (and also in the movie) to get all the fans who already got R2 to open their wallets. Why are we so sure the 1st one is definitely the winning move?3 points

I love it - R2 is #5 on Amazon in its category. I looked Saturday before the Frenzy and it was in the top 10 then. So this set will be popular and as of Saturday I think there was like 85 listings on eBay. Please Please Retire! Here's the breakdown MF - #2 Mindstorm 3 - #4 R2 - #5 Ewok - #7 (even with Promo not topping others) WVM - #11 Crawler 9398 - #14 Death Star - #202 points

So I've just seen this one comment on amazon.com where the guy gave 1 star (or zero...) because he really doesn't like what LEGO did there... He writes: " Disappointing what can I say the best part of this set is the minifigures but the vehicles are lacking in detail the minifigures do not fit inside the vehicles the doors do not open regardless I made a better lego version if you are interested send me a note and I will provide you with a link." I made a better lego version if you are interested send me a note and I will provide you with a link I made a better lego version better lego version then he posted that link in the following comments: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-DeLorean-DMC-BTTF-Back-to-the-Future-custom-9468-9464-76004-21103-10229-Fig-/121364891685?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=9Ukx8B%252FrQMW7SVZsYtALg9XJCMY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc I don't wanna say that his DeLorean custom made version doesn't come with a certain charme... but I wouldn't go as far as to call it "better" ***** just in case the link vanishes I'll provide you with some pictures ^.^2 points

Awesome movie. Some of my favorites.............. "It's gone from suck, to blow" "I see your Schwartz is as big as mine" "Funny, she doesn't look Druish"2 points

I've got enough of these so I am very relaxed watching what happens now, I even enjoy it! But I might grab a few more from a store or something as this thing will disappear completely in 2 months! With the 10225 in particular I don't need anyone telling me what makes sense and what doesn't....it's the easiest decision of the year!2 points

Stop it! LOL... Sandcrawler only exists on Tatooine, the planet of iconic sunsets, and R2 was always an integral part of the vehicle's importance. Waitaminute, this is like going to the circus and telling all the performers to slow down and be more careful. Carry on... Anyone have spare popcorn?1 point

I think some good advice is following: Load up early and ALWAYS have some spare money on your account just in case that a set is retiring and you need to panic buy.1 point

Yes. Buying this at retail right now would be a steal, let alone getting it at discount. The droid is so iconic it's destined for greatness. There will be people coming into the game 4-5 years from now looking back wishing they had purchased R2D2's when it was in production. I see this set hitting 4-5 times RRP. 5+ years from retirement.1 point

This and people in general are just impatient and want immediate results. These are the same people that won't last long in this game.1 point
