  1. Purchased a bulk lot of used/complete 90's sets off Craig's today. Paid $100 for everything. 6755 sheriffs lockup 6973 deep freeze defender 6264 forbidden cove 6938 scorpion detector 6899 nebula outpost 6815 hovertron 6854 alien fossilizer 1722 town/space value pack 6341 gas ****** go flyer 6515 stunt copter 6663 wave rebel 6595 surf shack 6401 seaside cabana 6262 king kahukas throne The lot calculator gives a used value of $335, so I think I'll make a decent return after fees. I haven't bought any used lots for awhile, so this one should keep me busy for a few weeks. Everything was in great condition, with instructions, and upon first glance appears to be in fact complete.

  2. All the off topic talk has been deleted by me. Don't be stupid again. Edited for bold: The comment made about arguably the most horrific human being in the history of the world will not be tolerated no matter the context.

  3. I'd like to think we just report on the insanity of TLG, various ebay buyers/sellers. This place is more about wild speculation and sexy stockroom photos.

  5. Well I did it... I sold an SSD for $800 cash locally. My cost on "this one" was $430 (I'm doing FIFO out of my stash) so I feel pretty good. I would have had to sell it for approx $950 before shipping on eBay for the same return - I'm not a top rated seller. Pays for three of the snow tires I need for my new car!

  6. When the movie "the Avengers" came out I saw it on opening night and bought a large drink which came with the Avengers souvenir cup. I then sold the cup for $36. So ticket $14 + drink $6 = $20. I got paid $16 to watch the Avengers.

  8. I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but I ordered an AA two days ago. It arrived today with the elf workshop AND a creator turkey set! The elf promo was listed on my initial order but the turkey was not. Score! I've got about ten more orders coming by the end of the month. I'm hoping they send a turkey with all of them. I haven't checked, but I would think this turkey set would sell for at least $10-$15, maybe a little more. It's not a polybag either. It's in a box like the elf workshop.

  9. I just happened on a Target that had jut put out two boxes of Series 1 Mixels. All 30 Mixels were in there. Unlike minifigs, you can easily scan a box to know if it's complete - they always have 3 complete sets of each color, and then 1 other complete set of a single color. The first week of Bricktober, my TRU only had the Theater behind the counter. After that, everything was out on the shelf. I haven't checked any of the other TRUs around here, since I can get what I need at that one.

  10. The second and last pictures have the set 8095 General Grievous' Starfighter. The forth picture appears to be the 8097 Slave I. The third to last picture seems to be the 7679 Republic Fighter Tank. The first picture seems to be from the 7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle. The second to last picture seems to be from the 8096 Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle. Those are all the sets I can identify from the pictures. Hope this helps.

  11. My 4 target Town Halls shipped right away in one order of 4, shipped 2 boxes of 2 but I am not holding my breath that they will come in real Lego boxes. Based on the R2's I ordered coming in it seems the extremely sloppy oversized not padded Target box with them moving around survives better than the stronger box tightly packed. Go figure. Should be interesting. They will be keepers in any event.

  12. All of our orders shipped that night and all have UPS tracking. A week or so ago they ran out of stock and did not fulfill all of those previous TH orders of ours. We left that order open on backorder and they filled it this week. If they did run out of stock then keep the order open and they will fill it if they ever get any more instock. This round we missed out on the Walmart restock so ordered very quickly in the beginning when they popped in at Target.

  14. I would check the Number of Sealed Bags thread. From the list in the main post, it says that the TH has 30 bags.

  21. I saw them tonight too at TRU but at $4.99 passed. I already had picked up a few of these at Target in the Halloween section. I built one not much to it kinda like a throwing star, I was tempted to see how far I could throw it. I paired one with the tumbler poly and the tumbler I'll let you know how that works out.

  22. It's a nice set and will probably go for $15 when they disappear. Just my opinion...

  23. I've actually pulled all mine from Amazon and didnt re-list at EBay. I sold 6 in five days but I am not selling anymore for at least a couple years. I have built one and that changed my thinking on its potential for $700-$1000. Money now is great but lots more in a few years is worth a hold now.

  24. Well I had 26 exo suits. I put 10 on ebay at about $48.99 free ship BIN for a couple of weeks now. At one time I was the low price I believe. I only sold one. This thing short and medium term I think is an absolute dog. I tried to unload 10 at the $48.99 and take a slight loss or break even on them but they did not even move at that. So today I returned 10 to Walmart today and got back $370.00 which I am flipping into more TH's or R2's. I've bought a lot of TH and GE from Walmart lately so I do not feel bad about returning them though I tried to avoid returning them through break even means and that would not even work. TH or R2 is a much wiser investment in my opinion. I've got 15 left of the Exo I will hold on for the long term. I absolutely love the set but and have always been a Space & NASA buff since I was a little kid... To say the market is saturated is an understatement I think.

  25. The cartoon series doesn't seem like a children's show. It's trippy. Thanks for all those who replied to my original question. The funny thing is, the more I research into Mixels, the more I like them. I've decided to keep my Series 1 for personal collection. Nowdays when I find leftovers from Series 1 and 2, it's like hitting jackpot. Yellow and Red (Flain) are hard to come by.

  28. Mine worked as well on a Fallingwater. I took it up and she immediately said "I'm sorry this doesn't work on Lego". I said oh, I thought it was only legos from the toy section and not architecture sets. She said she would try it and it worked. So I don't know if it varies from store to store or what but it scans fine and works at least on Fallingwater without any sort of override being necessary. She said "oh great it worked" and added my 10% member discount, my 2 $5 kids club rewards and 15% discount GCs. Nice deal.

  29. This set is simply fantastic in every way. I can't see it dropping in price at any time of the year. It is easy to tidy it up a bit to look like a normal house that can happly sit with other modular buildings and then reverted by to haunted house every Halloween. So it is good all year round. Read the thread for how this is done. http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/12454/turning-the-haunted-house-10228-into-a-pretty-house

  31. Having LEGO declare a set "retired" is just a confirmation of what a sharp and savvy investor investor already knows. If people are waiting for a set to be officially marked as such, they are already too late and will never make any money investing in LEGO sets.

  35. As a mere Plebian, my heart is broken and filled with humility at the cost of your Martyrdom in sharing 100.00% accurate information that is above question or rational analysis. And having "only" twelve of this set is tragic as well. Others may not appreciate your prophetic brilliance- and what it has cost you- but rest assured there are those of us who do see the shinning, brilliant Truth of your missive as Biblically important.

  37. Thanks to a fellow BP'er, who is surely to read this, I am very bullish on ToO. Math time. Licensed X Outstanding build X Never to be reproduced X A top literary work of all-time= $. I appreciate those who think this set is "fair" as an investment, as it only strengthens the case for those that see its true potential. Tolkien's work was produced during the 40's. It will never be remade; it will never be matched; an entire literary genre was spurned from it. If you enjoy Game of Thrones, Robert Jordan, R.A. Salvatore, or any other author of the fantasy genre, thank Tolkien for lighting the fire. This is an epic, iconic, once-in-an-investor's-lifetime set, and will always, always, always have an interested audience.

  39. There are many other members on this site who have far more experience then me. But I am learning and I am glad to help and give back in what little ways I can. There is a Military mantra of "Attention to Detail." I think it applies nicely to selling, that can put you above the pack and ensure success. I take looks at all my listings, messages and packing through the eyes of a potential buyer. Who is my target customers and why should they buy from me? Convenience? Service? Bargain Price? Shipping charges? Etc, etc. A nice crisp picture that draws their eye to my listing, a detailed description and clearly defined terms. What questions on the item might they have? As I pack the item I imagine the buyer unpacking it. Would he/she be happy with how it's packed? As I buy things on eBay and even just browse listings (both active and sold). I take notes on things people are doing that I like or that I don't like. What seems to be working and what isn't working. Same with a received item as I unpack it (For instance, I received an item and on the packing slip was a quick hand written thank you and please enjoy message. Not a big thing but a nice thought. Another package had one that was printed and it didn't seem as personal or thoughtful. So on all my packing slips I hand write a quick thank you to the buyer. This obviously won't work for some sellers and I am not sure how it will work when my volume of selling rises. But for now it is that little extra.) It all comes down to knowing your market, researching and having a good plan of attack. Paying attention to the details and going that little extra mile will reap benefits and set you apart from the pack. And with that I will get off the soapbox. Sorry it is late and I haven't been able to sleep...so keeping myself occupied....
