I really love all those nice displays! (And storage room photos of well though I thought there was a thread especially for that). There are quite some great pictures and I especially love the fact that there are other nutcases who love LEGO like I do Don't really have any big displays right now since I lack the space and the time to do so. But I got my minifigs displayed and maybe some here enjoy the pictures so I'll post some of them ^.^6 points

It is only an opinion but this modular set may end up being hoarded/purchased more than any other modular due to increasing hype far above FB at this point with a 3-4 month lag of sold out titles, especially if it stays in stock until the New Year. I believe FB's original price point above the other modulars and it's basic Fire Station genre may have turned more people than previously thought off purchasing too many because it cost more, was just a simple fire station which we've all seen dozens of in other sets including City, and lack of detail inside. The same might be said about the current Town Hall as it currently sits at $200 and few care about it. Knowing the rapid increase of Fire Brigade at a $100 increase in less than 12 months there is a chance that GE having sit as the top seller for Lego several days alone last week before returning for another production run while more limited in overall in-production years may be a far more purchased set. Many investors and collectors have only found this site within the last year or two and among those I know a few who purchase several dozen sets just for themselves, and they don't have several dozen Fire Brigades even when Emazers was pushing them and warning before EOL. The Fire Brigades are already going for $300 on Fleabay. The corner building appeal doesn't really have weight imo as most modular pictures show a strait line of buildings whether modified or original. Who in the pictures you've seen builds a town in squares rather than putting their Buildings in a strait line along the wall so that they can gaze at them?? Either way, this set is good and I have some but I don't think it will fetch near what some of the other Modulars may end up fetching in 5-8 years when 10 more modular sets will have been released, especially when newer modulars have better character(Parisian Restaurant and Pet Shop) or are a must for any group of buildings whether a small town or a large MOC layout(Town Hall, Fire Brigade). The GE is kind of on it's own, and I kind of wonder what it will really do, I hope it's a home run but I don't see it being better long term than Fire Brigade, I hope someone can show me the error of thinking.3 points

Exo-Suit, Exo-Suit, EXO-SUIT!!!! They are pretty much the same. I just slightly reworded the title to better reflect the questions as I think this would make a good topic to revisit at least once a year every year like a family reunion ....except I actually like the people here.3 points

please read what i typed above your post i gave prob the best case scenario if ROI is 40% in both year 1 and 2 using $160 as the starting point instead of $200. Set would be about $315 in Dec 2016. personally, I think the value will be closer to $275 than $315.1 point

No. Would it be the worst buy in the world? No. But they aren't taking off like Haunted Houses. Their gain will be slow over time especially since so many were sold at $99. With so many buyers getting in on these at half off, there will be many for sale in the low 200s for some time at folks get their 30% gain and move on. It time this will make somebody that bought at $200 some money, but it will be awhile. IMO1 point

I have done well selling the Marvel game with the Iron Patriot poly. I got those for $30 a few months ago. You can get a little less than $30 for the game right now many months after it's release and the poly goes for $30+ and keeps going up. I'm going to try for $40 at Christmas. This Batman game will be easy to sell for close to the purchase price if you get it when it first comes out. Don't know how well the poly will do. It's a somewhat obscure character. You would not lose money on this. It's just a matter of how much that minifig will go for and whether it comes in a polybag. If it were a more recognizable character I would be buying a few. Might get one because I want the game anyway.1 point

A nisb 3677 red cargo train and some extra track for $150 from a seller on Craigslist. I recently started buying Lego trains for myself, and this one wasn't even on my radar since I don't love it, but decided it was worth it for less than original retail price. Though I imagine this one could probably be for some good prices before it hit EOL.1 point

Also, start to remove it by slipping a razor blade under the corner instead of your thumb nail. I'll merge this thread later tonight.1 point

Okay - here is the collection. There are a bunch of Friends, Princess, & Space sets destroyed on the Lego table because my four year old prefers her own creations despite what the six year old says. I'm running low on space, so most sets are in my office at home, but some are at the office at work. I work in a school, so it makes good conversation with my middle school kids. This also doesn't count the bunch in storage in the closets. Forewarned many pics to follow! Enjoy!1 point

I recall a couple members finding some to plenty of these Architecture sets at their Target (typically around the puzzles if I am correct). Well, it seems now my Target are carrying a few of the old ones around within their great wall of board games. I saw the White House, Empire State Building, Seattle Sonic Needle, Big Ben, and a spot for the Willis Tower (sold out). I didn't buy any but still it was neat seeing those little builds in their fancy boxes sitting there on the shelf of my Target which I really never thought would come to pass honestly.1 point

Very hard to tell because it will vary according to the SW movies, the success of modulars, the possibilty of new SW sets already released... My two cents if you want to keep these sets for (let's say) 7 years: HH : now $280 (or so), max $800 Imperial S : now $430, max 800$ PIF (gadget, ah ah... bref) : now $550, max $1000 Unimog : now $260, max $400 So the best is the HH in my opinion, and the safest. PIF and IS are ok too but problem is you will have to pay a lot of money to get them. I would pass the Unimog if I were you (I don't think the ceiling will be very high, it's not as "collectible" as the 3 other sets)1 point

My friend's bf makes 3D printers and I asked them to print me a LEGO brick just to see. Thought some of you might be interested since there was talk about 3D printers before and how it might affect LEGO investing. It takes a while to print, and they turned the speed up so it would print faster so the brick did not come out as well as it probably could have. The brick is by no means perfect, but I can see how easily you can just make your own bricks in the future when everyone owns a 3D printer. I tried putting a minifigure on the brick but it did not stick very well (too loose), but they only use a small hand-held 3D scanner so it's not the best technology. Honestly the 3D printers are quite impressive, and I want one for myself!1 point
