  2. I'm just glad I have plenty from the 2013 run, since they're better than the 2014's, but still not as scary as the Canadian version. These guys show up at your door and take them back!

  4. thanks guys, im glad i was able to pay back the great users of this site as it has been a big help to my newfound investing hobby/business. this one was a real lucky break..i wasn't intending to buy the camper but it had previously been sitting in my cart and when i switched between regions, a screen popped up saying that the minicamper promo wasnt avail in my region. i thought it was just a wrong image (ie instead of the spaceman), but i switched back to US region and added the big camper, and voila..promo heaven!

  6. You're wrong, unless you mean you'll make a UPS claim for the money to refund the buyer for the damaged item. As the seller, you are responsible for the item arriving to the buyer in the condition it was described. If your shipping company damages the item, that's on you, and both eBay and PayPal will back the buyer on that. Re: partial refunds vs. returns - I agree that partial refunds are often the cheaper way to go, but keep in mind that sellers caving to these over and over has created a small percentage of buyers on eBay who claim there's something wrong with everything they get, to get a little money back. Requiring a return for a full refund spikes their guns nicely - they don't want to send stuff back, they want to keep it and get some money back too - so if the buyer is one of these numpties they won't take the offer of a full refund upon return, they'll just go away.

  8. It has been a while since I updated what I have built so here goes: August - Mini Cooper - half of it I built in the back seat of my car when I took a driving break and the other half of the set I built in my hotel. Good build, except for the size of the steering wheel and gearshift. End August/Early September - 10190 Market Street, 10185 Green Grocer and two more floors of the 10211 ***. Emporium - the picture shows a couple of missing pieces but those are in a ziploc bag on top or behind. Market Street is really a boring build and it doesn't fit with the grandeur of the other modulars. The main issue is the market, it has to go at the end of a block or with something on top of it as it looks out of place. Green Grocer is a great build with lots of interesting details and different pieces. It looks great and in my opinion has the best exterior design. Even if you don't collect/build modulars, I think that everyone will appreciate this set. This weekend was a busy one with 3 builds: My girlfriend finally finished her Tumbler, she was building one bag a day until yesterday's 3 bag finale. I can't comment much on the build other than it is a really large set and the left and right front corner panels are not secure. This is a difficult set to move around but as a display piece, it is awesome. Yesterday, I built the 4483 AT-AT. I had never built an AT-AT so I had no expectations. It's a weak build with a lot of structural issues, but it still looks good - I expect to sell this and trade up to the new one (based on the link that another member posted this week) I also built the 10187 Beetle over the weekend. First, I had to dust/clean the pieces to make sure everything was there (one minor piece missing that I don't have). It was an awkward build and fortunately Lego outlined the location of every piece in the instructions otherwise it would have been painful. I was surprised at the size of the beast but It really needs tiles to stand out so I will quickly sell this one. Time for a building break

  14. I shared my Printable LEGO Label collection with many of you in the past, but I wanted to let you know that I just completed a large update which includes many common Technic parts. I got a *lot* of comments and emails indicating that you want more labels, so I hope you enjoy. A sample of the new Technic labels. The labels look great on any organization system. 17. STAR WARS and City sets have remakes all the time. That is because LEGO wants to reintroduce these popular sets to a new group of kids on an annual basis. LEGO has worked this way for the past 15 years...at least. If they remake the 10179, so what? It's time, isn't it? The new movies are coming out and the Falcon is in it. It would be foolish not to reproduce the best LEGO set ever made. This has zero bearing on any of the hundreds of other top sets that will never be reproduced.

  18. I only have 13 and was waiting until October to get a few more. Perhaps ending up with 13 haunted houses was meant to be. That number seems to fit that set quite well.

  19. I definitely think everyone else who does this should quit. I will take one for the team and handle the world's reselling after you all leave. That's the kind of stand up guy I am.

  24. It will come back into stock. Maybe for a minute...Maybe for an hour...Maybe for a day...Maybe for a week...But they all usually come back into stock for a short time after the initial "Sold Out." After the remaining stock is accounted for and sold, the set usually retires shortly thereafter. For some sets, this process takes a few days...others a few months. I would think the HH is on the cusp of retirement.

  25. Looking over the pictures again....as much as we want Green Lantern, how is Gorilla Grood not the winner? You've got a Batman Mech, Wonder Woman in her Invisible Jet, Grood maxifigure, and Captain Cold. This one is the winner for me.

  26. Yeah I've been clamoring for an Orthanc sized Rapunzel Tower. You know what's missing from the Elsa Castle set? A troll-sized Marshmallow!! (With a hole on the top of his head for an optional crown)

  30. I don't trust this... we're all hoping for something "huge" now but in the end it will only be something like "there will be new bionicle! there will be the new elves theme! we have a new cuusoo winner!" nobody else has got this bad feeling about it?

  32. Am i the only one who fears a remake of the MF? If Lego starts remaking classic sets, that will be the beginning of the end. The 10179 is iconic as is and doesn't need a brother wether it is smaller or bigger. I for one might step outta this game if they start remaking. Whats next, Caf

  34. Ah ah, it's a good one ! ^^ Thanks for your reply, I'm having a good night... BTW because there was some (known) problems with some green bricks, I was wondering if the problem was in the 2012 and 2014 sets. Note that I have 2013 and 2014 sets, and I was planning to sell 2014 first because of your post. ^^

  37. How can you retire something that has lasted 10 years beyond it's expected lifespan? This bit of news is for you... This little machine just keeps on tracking in the martian desert! http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/news/whatsnew/index.cfm?FuseAction=ShowNews&NewsID=1705 I've only got two left in my for-sale-now pile... I'm contemplating taking them down as this news may eventually bring the rover back into the media.

  38. While I'd normally agree, really, the complaint is that these are still available in the wild. For some reason, all the TRUs near me have them, and have tons of them, with no sign of discounting them anytime soon.

  42. I started browsing on eBay for some computer parts recently, found yet another thing that makes my blood boil- people listing items as New Other, then you go to the description and it says "Like new condition, only used for a few hours!" NO. If you have USED it, then it is USED. It doesn't matter how like new it looks, it's no longer New or New Other. So glad that the Toys category doesn't have the option or we'd be seeing New Other listings like "Grand Emporium, just a thick coating of dust from sitting on my shelf and a few pieces missing from when my dog gnawed on it, other like new!"
