Am I the only one that sees the following kick ass combination? 79111 Constitution Train Chase with the 21103 Delorean and the lady from the 79108 Stagecoach Escape? Or is it just me, cause I saw BTTF part III last night and came up with this idea?4 points

Not sure if this has been shared before but this one is amazing! Enjoy!4 points

I did the same as soon as it has been available again on LEGO Shop at Home. I did not want to upset guys [edit: european guys] waiting for double VIP points in october but it was obvious for me that the stock would not last until then. Take on you glasses, and be ready to see it skyrocket.3 points

The Grand Carousel was not part of any series so it's supposed to be cheap. Oh wait... The truth is that people recognise awesomeness, regardless of series.2 points

And this is what is wrong with ebay. If he's throwing the box away then why does it matter? That is why they have you rate your sellers, not to gouge them out of money. Either return it or keep it. If he asked for a partial I'd tell him to send it back.2 points

jaisonline merged and created this thread... I created this post for people to discuss eBay technical subjects such as web site availability, errors, accidental feedback left, searching, etc.... This thread is NOT for shipping questions unless there is a technical question related to the web site as we have many shipping threads already. Use the thread below. The 2 posts below might be merged at some point. If done, I'll update the links. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/2210-international-shipping-program-advice/ http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/11566-ebaycom-shipping-questions-and-answers/?p=328352 This thread is also for not stating problems with sellers or buyers as there's a thread for that also. Use the thread below. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/4758-are-the-fruitcakes-running-rampant-on-ebay-lately-something-in-the-water/1 point

Yes it's cool, it looks like it has escaped from the Tron movies. ^^ I like the 70164 Hurricane Heist, can't wait to see it discounted to get one to build.1 point

It's a great set and I have a bunch, though I have 50% more GE's. My biggest complaint about HH is the duplicate ghosts. I'd much rather have gotten another zombie or vampire (maybe the Scary Girl from the new CMF series).1 point

10225 R2D2 for only 129.19 euro's! Still available! Intertoys is the same site where the 10221 SSD was available for 320 euro's. If we all weren't so greedy, we could pick them up today for only 272 euro's! Unfortunately.. They are already gone. http://www.intertoys.nl/search?SearchQuery=10225&x=-720&y=-85&SearchFormName=trefwoord_boven&SearchFieldName=Zoeken1 point

IMO HH will easily outperform GE. The reasons being HH was available to buy for 2 years vs 4.5 years for GE. Secondly GE is way more hoarded by resellers than HH (most were expecting HH to last at least 3 years if not longer). There are 301 HH on bricklink vs 1130 for GE. Thirdly HH has alot rarer pieces and colors and costs more to bricklink. Lastly at least in ******. America HH is going to be that one iconic set every household will want to display on Halloween. It will be as sought after as Grand Carousel, Taj Mahal, etc. There will always be another retail corner modular down the road. Another Haunted House? It is possible but highly unlikely a lego haunted house will ever be done again on this scale. 10228 IMO will be the only recent set to duplicate the returns we enjoyed during the golden age of lego collecting.1 point

Honestly, in the future. use the GSP and base your items out of the US. This is the easiest method as you are close to the border. I have sold quite a few items using the GSP and it is really easy - one recent item was to Singapore and the item took a total of 7 business days to be delivered from when I dropped it off at the post office on a Sunday night - I can't arrange that with Canada Post. Additionally, you are not responsible for filling out customs paperwork and that can be a challenge depending on the country you are shipping to (Brazil for example) When I wasn't using the GSP, I would look up the cost of shipping and tracking and the buyer usual changed their mind due to the expense.1 point

Here is a review on this year's AT-AT care of Brickset. There is an interesting comparison between this version and the three others that came before it down the article which you may find enlightening.1 point

Article says VIP release is Sept 17 but I see no incentive to buy early. Double VIP and free holiday exclusives in October makes me wait a few more weeks.1 point

I really like a lot of these sets. I'd like them more if they were just Wild West sets and didn't have the toxic Lone Ranger anchor tied around their necks. EDIT: My hope is the abysmal performance of this theme will leave some quality sets in clearance bins for virtually nothing, but so far they are still being sold for full price in Canada.1 point

Probably the stupidest part of the movie... but my son loved it. The intriguing thing about this is the theme CAGR sitting at 15.82% and which sets have risen (at least for the US) from their retail price and last 12 months: 79106 Cavalry Builder +65.90% (last 12 months + 146.00%) 79107 Commanche Camp +10.36% (last 12 months + 28.93%) 79108 Stagecoach Escape +30.51% (last 12 months +39.64%) 79109 Colby City Showdown - 12.68% (last 12 months +1.11%) 79110 Silver Mine Shootout -24.09% (last 12 months +0.34%) 79111 Constitution Train Chase - 0.57% (last 12 months +23.32%) Some very decent returns in that lot assuming people bought at the cheaper prices 12 months ago..1 point

I doubt we shall see another Christmas Tree R2-D2 ever again. There is a likely chance to see Darth Santa again but probably a different variant. The minibuilds are quite clever overall and pretty nifty. Not exactly a great value for your buck but we're used to that from Advent Calendars in general which are simply meant to be a fun quick daily activity for your kid. Anywho depending on how short of a supply Lego produces this year compared to the last, this could be a good flip especially with the intended season for the set just around the corner.1 point

The reason you don't use your VIP points during a 2X event is the number of of VIP points you receive will be based on the number of $$$ you spend. If you use $30 in VIP points on a $150 modular, you'll only be spending $120, therefore only receiving 240 VIP points. If you just buy it straight up, you'll receive 300 VIP points to use later. That's why I'd use your VIP points now and get yourself 2 promos, the Spaceman and the Chima Fire Bike.1 point

I agree. I think returning items because you made the wrong buying decision is unethical. I say sell them at break even or at a loss, get most of your money back, and chalk it up to a lesson learned. You can even sell them for about a $7 profit after fees through Amazon FBA right now.1 point

zskid00... about buying limits - actual I asked this very question about a week ago in some other thread. The oldtimers replied that they've not seen any real correlation between limits and proximity of EOL. Darth R... wasn't expecting to find the Warren Buffet of Legos (the closest thing we have is Ed Mack... who may have a better batting average ) ... I was expecting more actual speculation, and fewer jokes. ... but I don't want to complain... I appreciate that the moderators here allow us to have fun and express ourselves. Thanks guys.1 point

I approached the movie with an open mind. I figured the critics unfairly killed the movie. And I really wanted to see the constitution train. I had to turn it off after 40 minutes. What an horrible experience.1 point

I know several board members have inquired about the number of sealed bags for sets. I was wondering if we could add that feature to the lego set description. I know most of the old sets would be hard to find but we can at least start with modern sets. I am sure the members here would have no problem supplying the information. I just opened my Ewok Village and can supply the info for that set or any set I decide to build.1 point

Perhaps Lego would consider an "Antiquities" theme? I think Lego designers could do a phenomenal job with this. To better market this line, I would suggest making this a "large exclusive" line as it would primarily appeal to AFOLs, and release one per year similar to the Winter Village theme. Set options could include Sphinx, Colosseum, Acropolis, Tower of Babylon, Great Wall, etc. Each would include 2-3 era-specfiic minifigures to round out the set, and set sizes would be 1,500 to 2,500 pieces each. I have no doubt AFOLs would snap these sets up, similar to the Large Scale Models like Taj Mahal, Tower Bridge, etc.1 point

The yellow castle 375/6075. Came with about 12 minifigures and cost $50. Was this the best design? No. Was the color really odd? Yes. But I probably spent over 100 hours playing with it. The Market Village and Kingdoms Joust were great builds, but since I am in my 30's now, they don't evoke those special feelings like good ole Yellow Castle does.1 point
