  1. I just picked up a ginormous lot off of CL for $300. The pics were terrible and the listing was up for a few days. Usually I get no reply when answering an ad on cl so I was surprised to get a message back. So far I have a complete Black pearl, QAR, and imperial flagship. I also found a complete Garmadons fortress and clone turbo tank 8098. I found most of a 8097 slave 1 and all the figures. I really need about a week off now to go through all this.

  4. this sets been out for 43 days. i have 40 and will buy another 10. i bought into this set thinking i would be holding until EOL which will probably be 1 year judging by the delorean which sold out at shop at home today. its kind of silly to prognosticate about the value of a set that hasn't gone EOL and was available today for like 10 hours from the worlds largest online retailer 4 cents below msrp. its kinda like saying - hey why hasn't that captain america vs hydra doubled in money yet. this set is just sulking in the shadow of the RI which is an anomalous event.

  11. BP shows a value around $35k (a couple sets weren't found, so rounding up for that). Would not be worth it at the current asking price to resell with all those different individual sets to have to deal with, but nice for a personal collection at that price. TOTAL $34,832 CL-Lot9.xlsx

  12. I watched BTTF part I and part II last night (for the zillionth time). Lets be fair, the movies are awesome. It is timeless. It is great. wonderful music. I believe it is for every age. A large fanbase. I never met anyone who did not like the movies. This set will do good for sure. Just I guess after EOL we need to wait at least 2 X-masses for the stock hoarded by investors to dry up. After that it is cash time.

  14. Exo may be around for a while longer who knows, but both RI and EXO and Ecto 1 are all on the thou shall not discount list. So you will not see them cheaper than MSRP of 19.95, 34.95 and 49.95 respectively barring some gift card deal. Of note however they are the only items on this list without limits specified which is very interesting. BTTF Delorean is not on this list.

  15. That set is decent. I actually like a couple of the new Chimas. The fire ones are awesome. I am still (trying) maintaining that Chima will eventually catch on and take off. I think those fire sets could do it. They are kinda awesome.

  19. Hello, At Brickpicker, we strive to provide fast and easy access to the great content supplied by members. Jeff recently made an awesome change to how forum searches work. Now when typing a set name or number in the forum textbox, the predicted top results will appear automatically and are click-able. note: You can also still search the original way. Here are three examples. I want to ask a question about that popular Batman Arkham. However, I can't quickly find the main thread (aka topic). Type "arkham" in the search box and the most popular Arkham threads appear automatically. This is way cool and easy, right? Now I can post my question in the correct thread. I forget the exact Helm's Deep set number but I know it begins with 947. Type "947" in the search and results are automatically shown. I would like to search "10179" from the forums but then decide to see if any of the other apps contain information about this set. This functionality is also available. Happy searching.

  20. Another thing, if you have VIP points to burn, you might want to consider using them now, before double and triple VIP hits in October & November. The first part of November might also be a good time, since if triple VIP hits, it probably won't be until Black Friday weekend.

  21. I just realized the one you went to was Brickfest, this was Lego Kids Fest. Its about 4 or 5 lanes of Technic 4x4 crawlers with obstacles. It was one of the more popular events. Think they do Brickfest in Birmingham, AL will have to try that when it comes again. The only pic I could find doesn't really show much but set up in rows then the obstacles start once they get going.

  24. I'm thinking this as well--if not sooner. And once that happens I think we'll see this set appreciate nicely by the end of 2015 and into 2016.

  25. I agree. I think returning items because you made the wrong buying decision is unethical. I say sell them at break even or at a loss, get most of your money back, and chalk it up to a lesson learned. You can even sell them for about a $7 profit after fees through Amazon FBA right now.

  26. I think that some of us myself included see buying a bunch of something say 30 RI and then returning them all if they can't be quick flipped as damaging to the lego investing community, and could possible lead to changes in return policies, which would hurt us all. I also do not think its completely fair to the stores, or to other customers who may want to purchase the product. As far as discounts versus pricing errors, I think its pretty obvious which is which if all other retailers sell at a certain price and never discount but one time one retailer sold at a large discount for only a very limited time, its probably an error.

  27. First @ Trekgate there is a great deal of sarcasm on this forum so take it in stride. If you have the funds and the space hold and store the exos. I have three but would buy 10 more if funds were available for them. @Newbie77. An item that is MSRP $49.99 and marked at $16.48 is a pricing error. Additionally one that retails for $249.99 and marked at $148 is also a pricing error. Bith of these sets are far from EOL and were not being replaced.

  30. Perhaps this is a geeat time to say, "thank you Target and Walmart for being human and making pricing errors on lego sets"
    1 point
  31. It WAS a pricing error. A discount shows the original price on the page while a pricing error is one that shows just one price, that is also am incorrect one.

  34. If you have a nearby Costco then you may find a special 3-in-1 super pack deal on this year's Microfighters. Two different ones containing three sets each with the first having the Clone Turbo Tank, AAT, and Millennium Falcon while the second features the TIE Interceptor, X-Wing Fighter, and Star Destroyer. Both triple packs go for $23.99 which considering the regular $9.99 retail of each individual set means buying a single super pack instead of the three included sets separately totaling $29.97 means you would save $5.98 (before tax). Basically that is like $1.99 (roughly 20%) off each of the three Microfighters in the pack. via The Brick Fan

  36. If you have that many, I`d return them and put the capital elsewhere. Seems like the heat has gone out of this set, at least for now, it will likely go up over Christmas, but with the quantity that resellers appear to have, maybe not enough to justify keeping. That said, you may be able to sell them for $50ish over Christmas and make a few bucks on each, got to decide if that is what you want or not.

  37. We need to figure out at what time exactly Target queries Amazon for the lowest priced FBA price, and implement rotating schedule of FBA resellers to temporarily set MSRP price for the sets that no longer carried by amazon. I wonder if that could be considered as collusion... BTW, I noticed that Walmart started doing something similar - see http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Star-Wars-Jabba-s-Palace-Play-Set/21095580

  45. I'm very excited for the DeLorean becoming a LEGO set. Ever since I first saw it on CUUSOO, I really wanted it to pass and now it's happened. I wonder if the demand is as high as the Minecraft set.
