Hello BrickPickers... With the increased site traffic and the new Brick Classifieds forum launching soon, we have asked jaisonline and Bold-Arrow to be moderators. They have graciously accepted. Jeff is finishing up the Brick Classifieds and it looks and works great(He showed me this morning). We will be adding a few more moderators once the Brick Classifieds site and forum go live, preferably members that will be active on the Brick Classifieds and will be able to instruct others on how to use the Brick Classifieds and inform new users about the rules and regulations. More on that later... Ed Mack12 points

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/helpcenter/helphub/home/ If you've already been there and CS is closed, call them tomorrow. They'll walk you through the process. Basically, they may be willing to dispute the chargeback on your behalf. That doesn't mean they're going to win against the cc company, and if they don't, you don't either. Meanwhile, the money will be taken out of your account or backup funding source. If this buyer did the same thing to a lot of sellers, PayPal will be more likely to try to dispute it with the cc company. If you're the only one, you're probably out 12 bucks. If you had a brick and mortar store, you'd have shoplifters (and still have chargebacks ) - it's annoying as heck when it happens, but you figure it into your cost of doing business and you move on.2 points

My parents would have thought this totally acceptable. Back when I was 7 you could leave your kids for 90 minutes in the toy store. Especially me, i would take that long to decide what I wanted. As a parent today, I don't even leave my kids unattended in my back yard.2 points

Not sure if anyone has talked much about who might be buying or interested in buying but I wanted one for my niece and one for my daughter. This is the kind of set that could be a very special graduation gift in 10-15 years. How many other Dads/Uncles are thinking the same. I think the sky is the limit and if it is gone. Mr Mack may be right SSD for a RI? Might be a good deal! Sent from my Passport using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

My concern with this is the lack of clear identification that it is a licensed Mini product. No sticker and no identifying anywhere on the bag that it is. The mini Camper though did and had a VW licence and logo on the bag. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker1 point

Not a mistake. The set was never available in the US.1 point

Those who don't think this set will do well may not be thinking of the potential crowd that may be buying this set down the road. It is a set of 3 different professions. And would be great as a graduation present for college instead of getting the typical money or jewelry. Being a 22 year old female, who just graduated from university, I would have loved to receive this set. It is small enough that it doesn't take up a lot of space. Also, when little girls grow up to be anthropologists or chemists or astrophysicists they will be making enough money to be able to buy this set at a higher cost in x amount of years. Just my 2 cents. There are too many males here thinking Star Wars are the only good sets.1 point

I am worried that the rage over 21109 and 21110 carries down to Ecto-1 and wipes it away. And I say worried as I have none of this one. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker1 point

I have 3 arcade video games, but one day I'm going to get myself a pinball machine. I can never decide on what I want it to be though. If someone were to do The LEGO Movie or anything LEGO themed, I'd be a buyer. Are you listening to me Jersey Jack's?!1 point

Not sure if you following closely this thread, but lego did send letters indication more to be produced, but it remains to be seen what amounts the mean by "more", maybe only to fill backorders1 point

To build? Why do I have a hunch that you will build and display each version?1 point

Yes, but you risk cancellation (nothing to lose, really, amazon may enforce, may not. It's inconsistent). Even if you use multiple accounts. Technically the order limits reset every week, meaning you could buy the limit today and then buy the limit next week while not exceeding the ordering limits.1 point

The world might not have changed as much as you think. Perception almost certainly has though. Just lookup "Mean world syndrome". And well - be surprised. While I don't think 90 minutes of "playtime" in even a Lego store is a good choice by the parent, arrest it a totally inappropriate response. If the police or store owners think that a Lego store isn't safe enough for children they should probably think hard about why, and do something about _that_.1 point

Pros: quick flip with it in hand, you stand to triple your money. Cons: long term, when this is completely done, does this go higher? Short term, when the market gets flooded in a couple days, does your $70 buyer return it?1 point

It really does make a difference when you are a parent. Some coworkers at work had this discussion and the guys without kids think no big deal. But when you are responsible for a little person and you hear all the terrible things that can happen to kids these days it's eye opening. I agree arrest is an extreme measure. Wow it seems there are a lot of 20/30 something males responding to this that don't have kids. I think maybe those folks overestimate the age they used to roam free. I have a 7 year old son and have no doubt he would likely stay put for 90 minutes in a LEGO store however my wife nor I would ever leave them out of our sight for more than a minute. The world is not the same when we were that age nor is a 7 year old safe alone in a public place. I would be surprised to hear anyone with a child that age to disagree. I have two children. Never in the history of humankind has any mother been blessed with smarter, more attractive, better-behaved daughters than I have. It would have been stupid, tacky, and dangerous to leave them alone in a store for 90 minutes when they were aged 7. I don't have any problem with this woman being arrested, hopefully it will frighten her enough to act like she has a brain in the future, even if it's only an act. Even presuming that one can pedophile-proof a 7 year old (you can't - hey little boy, like LEGO? Come out to my car and I'll give you some free ones! Heck, half the 27 year olds on this site would probably fall for that one at the LEGO store but at least they're big enough to fight back), in what universe is it okay to use store clerks as free babysitters? The answer to someone's earlier question: how old is old enough? Not 7. Maybe a few 10 year olds, probably most 12 year olds. I, too, was raised in the days when children were turned loose out the back door basically as soon as they could walk. The good old days weren't always good and my siblings and my friends and I experienced some unhappy outcomes from what some would call freedom, some would call neglect. And "what we used to do" doesn't make it okay in today's society - like it or not, rules and norms change.1 point

Rather than running some code, use selenium and have it automate through websites. Use dual monitor, this way, you are in front of the monitor and can see it live. Using alerts aren't good because if you are at a meeting, you can't buy so what's the point. With an automation tool, you are sure to buy if you see something because you'll be at your desk. Got what is likely my best deal yet. Was in Walmart with my family. Always check the friends hoping for a discount (I have never seen one in store in Canada) Noticed right away that a Heartlake Stables set was right in front where the Sunshine Ranch tag was for 89.99 Grabbed the Stables and found a scanner --> scanned at 25. woohoo. To bad there was only one but still very pleased1 point

As many are aware, it was reported the building instruction manual fell apart on many people. It was prob due to glue used and the binding process. TLG sent me 2 updated books. The revised manuals have wider bindings, slightly less cover gloss, and a different code on the back (ending now in 796 instead of 686). Attached are pics of two new books and 1 older one. The older book is in the middle. Notice even the cover picture has shifted on the new books. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app1 point

Backbox Playfield Cabinet Early whitewood prototype Video of some early animations In other news, are you a fan of The Big Lebowski? Of course you are. So get ready for this. Dutch Pinball, the makers of the Bride of Pinbot DMD conversion kit has obtained a licence from Universal Partnerships and Licensing to make a The Big Lebowski pinball! Can you believe it?! Alright, stay tuned. I have another bit of info to post. ;)1 point
