  1. You would think at $50/hr you could afford a phone that doesn't double post all the time.

  2. For me, I wanted to add some to my inventory for 2 reasons. One, diversification, as I don't have anything like it yet. Two, the history of Mars Rover showed the the Exo Suit had potential to quickly double the investment. I agree that checking on the brick & mortar store daily for inventory wouldn't be worth it at this investment/return level. But ordering 10+ online from Target with a few clicks? Sure, why not. Aside, please don't judge others who choose to spend their time buying LEGO instead of getting a sun tan. To each his own.

  5. Makes me believe even more in SSD and DS as premium investments. If they are shrinking boxes there may not be a box larger than those ever produced again, there is something pretty awesome about having boxes of those size sitting on your shelf as a collector. It may be true it isn't the size of the packaging that matters it is what is in the inside that counts, but everyone wants a huge package.

  12. For Apple fans...it's a feature. They usually possess a sense of superiority so they need the double posts to make sure they get their point across. *I own multiple Apple products, this was a joke. if you are offended you are precisely the type of person I am describing.

  15. I had a box from TRU that looked like it dated Chris Brown, so I figured I'd pop the seals and put it together. After all, I should make enough selling the MISB units I still have to pay for this one, and even if I decide to sell it the used model will still pull what I paid in retail. But I digress... There was a fair portion of space that could be eliminated internally, but if they do so they should also thicken the outer box, which would counter the smaller box size. It was packaged into 3 smaller, inner boxes (okay, 4 if you count the one the manual was in). With all the bags being numbered, they could have just put it all in the big outer box and saved quite a bit of space. I would say that if it were packed according to content, the outer box could have been up to 20% smaller. That said, there is quite a bit of childish glee popping open a box that size to play with the toys.

  17. I make $50/hr as well but I still spent time buying this at Target online and the Lego Store. That's me and how I like to spend my time. It has nothing to do with how much money a person makes. There's also no need to criticize how others are spending their time.

  18. Fine, well, lets all try not to create multiple lego accounts just to nab an extra $20 or so Or rotate around the lego store. I'm sure we might make more rotating around the LV and Gucci store and flipping those handbags on eBay. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

  20. on friday just before 3 pm, i tried to buy 3 and was told by cashier because it was "limited release" and that they only had a "small number" of sets i would only be allowed to purchase 2 (along with 2 exo suits). Took them out to the car, went back got a cinnabon and an orange julius, went back to the store and shift changed had occurred with new cashier and bought 2 more.

  23. Ordered friday and received saterday an Exo suit. Built it today. Man and wife Content of the box. A lot of small pieces. A lot of gray Final model. A also took a picture of the building steps. But I guess you like to see the final model. It was fun. Comments: - it is somewhat fragile but not in a sense that you can not touch it! - interesting use of pieces. - a lot of small pieces give a nice model in the end that is still big enough to enjoy. - nice instruction manual. - because of the use of the "retro" space logo on the box I think a lot of AFOL's will want this. It's hard to say why. At least I wanted it because it reminded me of my childhood space adventures. - due to the small pieces the real playability will decrease and "displayability" increase. - investement? Don't know. All will depend on how long the set will hold on as an exclusive, how long lego will produce it, etc. Yet another exciting set. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met behulp van Brickpicker

  24. This set is too damn cool NOT to do well post eol. I've already got 13, shooting for at least 20. Patience is the key. I won't be selling any until at least three years after eol. Personally, I think those who talk bad about this set and spread opinions as fact secretly love it too. They are just trying to thin the investor herd. Anyone who has a clue should be in deep on this set.

  27. Decided to give in and spend a chunk load of money on this set. Used and in good condition, Will be doing a stop motion build on this once I can verify all the pieces and sort them out. Whatever you read about this set regarding the size nothing will prepare you for it! once you get it!! This is a huge set and the number of bags is overwhelming to say the least. It is a true monster of a set! worth every $ I paid for it. Enjoy!!

  28. This makes sense and is what someone expects if buying a bundle. I'm referring to the people who think you can put a couple items together and then charge more than each of those items would sell for individually.
    1 point
  29. I'm guilty of bundling stuff and yes I do competitively price items, so the bundle is usually a little less than if the buyer were to get them individually. It saves on shipping for me and it's also an attractive option for some buyers.

  32. I am warming up to this set. It is stylish and the box is very tastefully done. It is worth every penny of $20 and will appreciate very well IMO. The ROI of this set can be in the stratosphere because of the low MSRP and potential to be rare(1 per household) and desirable. I received my first one today and I am a big fan. The prices are already hitting $50 on eBay and will continue to climb, unless LEGO releases the set to other retailers.

  35. This is why you pick which ones to flip and which sets to hold. If you doubt the long term outlook for this set then get as many as you can and flip. If it turns out to be a long term winner and you don't have any left, oh well not everyone can date the prom queen. While some people are mulling over the long term potential they are missing the short term opportunity.

  37. They blacklist your address, your VIP account, your name, your ph#, your email, your IP address, your cc#, and anyone other VIP account, address etc ever used from that same IP address, cc# etc. Don't take it personally it is just business. TLG knows they cannot compete with our packing and level of customer service lol. From there you don the black hat and continue business as usual.

  38. I don't remember which one had the majority. I will say that the BL feature that shows which stores have the most items listed on your wanted list helped out a lot. Here are the stores I used, the totals are misleading as to which had the most parts since I ordered some extra stuff from some stores to reach the minimum (Minifigures, etc.). Bricks.of.Fury (1404) US $2.52 Lego_Man_AFOL (86) US $10.23 studmart (675) US $3.25 azbricks (1589) US $8.18 ADOPT_A_BRICK (2824) US $6.63 Jokers74 (41) AU $9.02 landmbrick (174) US $9.45 There were some that were very hard to find. The 1x1 flat transparent red tiles (SNOT) were a little tough to find. Also, I got the last 2x2 round that is used for the jet engine that was listed on BL when I checked. I will say that I could have found the items a lot quicker if I didn't look for stores without a minimum order. There were a few places that had some of the harder to find parts, but I only needed $1.00 worth of stuff and the store minimum was $8. I understand why some stores want a minimum order to pack and ship the items, I am not faulting them for that, it just made my search harder

  39. I have 8 children and therefore a legitimate reason for buying multiples, yet somehow I doubt TLG would accept that as an excuse were I to fall under their wrath. I've already decided I won't get upset if/when it happens. The banhammer is random like a lightning strike. You can't get upset at an irrational phenomenon for acting in a purposeless and irrational manner; TLG's bans are the same way. You can take some steps to protect yourself against a lightning strike, but in the end it's going to strike where it strikes and if you're in the way, there's not much you can do. If I do get banned, I want 8 badges. And I do have a spiffy flame email ready to send out letting them know about 8 future consumers with high earnings potential who *won't* be buying directly from TLG or frequenting their retails stores due to TLG's wacky policies.

I guess my favorite in order is Starlord, Rocket, Gamora, Groot, Drax. Like I said IMAX 3D is the way to go. I forgot to rate the Movie so a 9/10. Ed
