I'm putting my life in great peril by posting this, but the truth must be exposed. I came home early from work today and witnessed this dark event. I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped these shots. I think they were so caught up in their blood lust they didn't notice me and...wait...I think I heard something....AAaaaggghhh....they're on me! Tiny axes and claw hands ripping my flesh.....just...enough...strength...to click...post...13 points

God forbid someone ask for another opinion Second guessing yourself when money involved is a good thing in reality. If I asked a stupid question 100 times but it prevented me from losing 200$, it was worth it. Maybe not for you all, but yeah.3 points

This is why you can't be a collector and a seller. It's a deadly combination. I have no attachment to my sets, so off they go!3 points

This Is always my problem, I have been a collector for years and only recently began selling. So now every time I buy Legos with the intentions of reselling. The collector comes out in me and makes me want to keep everything.3 points

The OP's question was a valid one IMO. My answer would be no by the way...with possible new HP books and movies on the way. Off topic...No, you didn't say anything about socializing, but why attack the OP and call them lazy? Didn't your Mother ever teach you that there are no stupid questions? What's ironic is that you asked people to HELP YOU in your thread from a few days ago. You ask people for help and have valid reasons, but then you act like a callous jerk at times and expect people to help you. It doesn't work that way. All you had to do was direct the OP to the blogs or at the very least, say nothing and move onto a thread that you can have a positive impact on. I realize some of the questions on the site are repetitive and some are downright silly, but that is the nature of any forum and the internet in general.2 points

I stopped by the Mom & Pop pharmacy to pick-up the Deluxe Brick Box (5508) for $49.99. I thought I snapped a picture of it on the shelf, but didn't have it when I got home. They were doing inventory, so I was sneaking pictures. Pretty much all of these are MSRP, except (6166), which is $39.99 for some unknown reason. They have 2 Helm's Deep and 2 Jabba's Palace.2 points

Well, pretty quiet around here today. I finished updating the portfolio and the piece count crossed the 7 figure mark. Now just need to get the value to the same place, haha. Sets to do it 1089 i think. Doesn't really matter and is noteall important but what the heck. Carry on.1 point

Was going to ask about Goodwill Shop Online for Lego...but just have some of you have noted, a quick search netted me my answer. Thanks guys!1 point

I'm with you ed this websites all about Lego investing, pricing, and socializing between fellow Lego collectors/ investors so if you can't feel free to ask an honest question and get an opinion from knowledgable experts then what's the point of having a website like this? Lol the simple fact is do what other members have said before if you don't like a post move on, there's no need to insult someone or start a commotion over absolutely nothing.1 point

I am in the same situation as the OP. I bought a 4842 Hogwart's Castle (MISB) the other day and I can sell it now and make a nice profit or keep it for later. I think it is a pretty cool set eventhough I do not like Harry Potter at all! This is the collector speaking. But eventually I decided to turn it into $ and listed it. Hope to sell it soon so I have no time to think anymore. Stupid questions do not exist. Only stupid answers. Do not shoot someone for asking a repetitive question. Posting a negative reply is also a waste of time. Just simply ignore the topic!1 point

It's the internet. Cut people a break. People go on forums to socialize and to find out information. There is always someone with more knowledge on a subject, so why not ask? Many people don't mind sharing their experience.1 point

I am really curious to see what happens with SSD...... Is it truly gone? Or are they relaunching the production? There is 1 for 4001 point

People are naturally indecisive and want to be told what to do. They ask thinly veiled questions hoping the answers reenforce the answer they already had in their head. We've all done it at some point, and this website probably wouldn't exist without the need for these answers. Hold onto the sets if you want to collect them but otherwise sell them off now as your potential gains from waiting are probably irrelevant. Calm down. You're acting like you don't get any The poster is just asking for a second opinion. To the original poster, I would unload these sets starting in Oct for holiday buyers. If I bought this lot, I place these on eBay and / or Bricklink now at prices that I would be happy at if they sold during the holiday season. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app1 point

I just wrapped up this video. Way better than the previous sets. I was never a fan of the TNMT as a kid and didn't much care for the Lego sets either until now. This series of sets are a lot more realistic and dark. A really great build. The turtle mini figures are awesome.1 point

Spoken like a veteran ... Good job. IMO this set is on it's last leg. Many of us snagged quite a few during Walmarts managers sale last Xmas and it was close to $10-$11! So get them while u can. Like u said this is the only set with superman and Wonder Woman in their original costumes. Wonder Woman is due to have a new figure done when batman Vs superman sets will be released as she is in the movie. But most likely she will have a new modern costume.1 point

Ah ah great I can easily imagine the discussions on that slaughter place: (from up to down) "Let's play curling ! woosh woosh" "Was my cut ok ? I was shaking a little" "We will have a great diner tonight ! Yum yum" "Nice event, I'm glad we left the spacebase for a relaxing week end" "Sweety all this blood turns me on, let's find a room".1 point

I like collecting too. It's hard when you have kept something for so long, and then you try to sell it but you've grown attached to it and then have a hard time letting it go......even though your intention the entire time was to sell it to make money. Weird, I know........1 point

Haha I did buy that listing, good eye. Thanks for the advice guys1 point

Agreed on this one. I passed up at least 15 of them today at 50% off. Nothing special stands out with this one. Great price for your personal collection, but spend those investing dollars elsewhere. Leave 'em for the kiddos.1 point

I agree. If you were the buyer of this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WOW-Lot-4X-FIRST-SERIES-Harry-Potter-Lego-Sets-2002-4726-4729-4731-4735-/141339984839?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item20e88503c7 don't make the same mistake as that seller of not making it available to the United Kingdom. According to the price guide Dumbledore's Office alone should have sold for more than they got for the whole lot.1 point

Earlier this week I built the MTT from a Craigslist lot. I generally do not buy or display Episode I-III sets but this was a really good build, solidly built with a lot of detail and quite large. I don't know how the refresh improves on this one. Last night and today I built the 6211 Star Destroyer - this is a very messy build that doesn't look like a ship until it is finished and I never felt like I was accomplishing anything but it looks impressive on display (minus the white technic bricks)1 point

I know it is pretty quiet with selling on ebay these days... but you must be having very poor sales to have the time to create this. Very entertaining. My compliments.1 point

Target Australia is gearing up for a big toy sale and some exclusive lego items that are very hard to find in Australia at the moment. Ewok Village ($389) & UCS R2-D2 ($249) are appearing in stores now at full Lego LEGO Shop at Home RRP as noted in brackets. Some stores already have them and no-one is sure if they will be discounted in the sale or not. And all stores seem to be expanding their lego stock right now. Online the sale is starting early I think around 18th July and in store the sale will start 23rd July. Good luck and happy hunting1 point

Thanks for the specifics. I forgot I had read this. It matches up pretty well with the brickipedia descriptions. http://brickset.com/article/9818/london-toy-fair-report From an investment standpoint it's encouraging that outside of Thorin the Dwarves only appear in the first wave.1 point

Pretty sure these sets have been seen. They were at a show in 2013 and then were pretty much hidden since then. I think there is a review from Huw from Brickset(or admin from another site, can't remember 100%) about seeing these and said these characters were in the set. Though Witch King is not as you see him in LotR, but ghostly as you see him in DoS, from what I remember. It's been some time since I've read much about these sets but I'm sure we will see something at SDCC at the end of the month, if not some teaser before that. This is the dead horse I won't stop beating, but I really hope we see something from LotR in '15. Anything, even if it's a single D2C from Minas Tirith to give us some needed figures to put a bow on the series and wrap it up.1 point

I have always loved this set and heavily endorsed it to anyone that would listen. It can commonly be had for under $15. I sell the minifigs hand over fist one eBay for a total of $20, and get about $6 for the pieces. This isn't huge money, but I focus on volume and have literally bought and sold this set over 100 times. When a $15 set consistently turns into $26, and especially while it is readily available, that is a good indicator of a great set. There is no reason whatsoever that this set should not be profitable as an investment after it retires. I won't be caught dead without a ton of these sets once they're gone.1 point

For the last 2 months, I've been buying this set when on-sale. Since it's release in Dec 2011, it seems to have always been under the radar due to more popular sets (Batman, Avengers, etc...). Physical in-store stock has always been hit or miss in my area. Since Oct, it hasn't really been available at least around me ( except for 1 over-priced TRU). Online inventory is still good if you want some. Note : it is already retired in all countries except the US and Canada. I think 6862 will do very well once retired based on recently retired / soon to be retired sets like Capt America's Cycle, Wolverine, and Catwoman. Additionally, Superman has prob better appeal outside of the US ( based on recent movie research). It is the only set that contains Lex and Wonder Woman (for now). Also the only way to buy Supes in his classic attire. The Mech-like is surprisingly good. It holds together well and looks cool with Luthor. The set sells consistently on bricklink for $18+. The minifigs already sell decently. Superman sells $8-$11, Wonder Woman for $5-7, and Lex a paltry $2-$4 (too bad he's not wearing the green armor suit like in that poly or game box). With the upcoming 2015 Superman II (with Bats & Wonder Woman) movie, this set should keep the fans happy until new sets are introduced with minifig refreshes. My (for what it's worth) April 2015 target price is $60 ($75 with luck) for a set that can still be had for under $15. I selected April 2015 assuming the next movie is released in May or July because I'll be unloading my sets prior to it's release due to the probability of refreshed sets being available and pre-movie hype ( in case it tanks).1 point
