Quite honestly, you have no shot at being a serious reseller if you are only using LEGO S@H as your source for sets.

I'm starting to feel a little troll-la-la'd here. I am not quite getting how someone could be on this site for weeks and not find the Daily Deals thread, not to mention all the other threads, not to mention the direct advice to buy elsewhere, and fail to realize that there are a lot of other places to buy LEGO. Neocacher, if you're sincere, you are ignoring a great resource and need to educate yourself - stop buying now and spend at least ten hours or so reading a variety of investment threads on this site. You can thank me later. If you're just having some fun with us, well played, as generally I spot the smirk faster than this.

Just to clarify, I am going to form a list of items that I need to create a ''diorama'' or better say beautiful display of MEDIEVAL market (MMV+MVR) and want to construct an own ''small'' mine full of gems that are being mined by workers..... and transported on market for selling. I guess I will need a King's Castle (Kingdoms one especially if anyone has used one for reasonable offer) and tons of workers and other figs. btw Darth_Raichu, thats pretty much 90% what you sent me last year, now on display and it looks great!

Their rules are very simple: they don't want to sell to resellers. If they think you are a reseller (and you are), they don't want to sell to you. There is no doubt that in the implementation of their "no reseller" policy they are inconsistent at best and Congress-level incompetent at worst, but the bottom line is: they don't want you as a customer. You can accept that and move on to buying from other vendors who are happy to take your money, or you can circumvent that with a new account to a new address paying with a new credit card, or you can wring your hands and demand the heavens and/or LEGO minimum wage customer service reps answer "Why?!!!". Two of three of those are a decent use of your time, the other doesn't get you anywhere.

Oh and that Box is expensive let alone the international shipping, import fees, tariff, taxes, and of course processing fee

I have a better idea...Take the credit and go buy a Haunted House, Maersk Triple E and any Modular house(You can even use an Arkham Asylum as a replacement for any of the three) and place them in a safe spot. In 5 years, pull them out and resell them. You can thank me later...

What's next ? As soon as GE is marked "retired item" on S @ H, then the next step is :money: :money: :money: (7 $ smileys for good luck )

Just sold a used but complete 7199 Indiana jones temple of doom for $167 shipped. I bought it off of eBay five weeks ago for $84 shipped. The buyer is only one state away, so shipping won't be too bad. After fees and shipping I should clear $50 profit. These are the types of quick flips that I enjoy.

The only thing I would add to this is a better chance at receiving a minty fresh set. They don't always arrive that way, but their track record is better than other retailers from my experience. I'm a box snob so that's important to me.

Yes. I see your point. As a true collector, LEGO reps have stated they have no issues with people buying a set to build and one to save for a rainy day. Most collectors never get banned. Buy 2 Tower Bridges and you won't get banned. Buy 5 Tower Bridges and you might. It's a fine line.

Basically. If you are a hardcore reseller, LEGO S@H is a minor retailer in your arsenal. LEGO S@H works more for the small time/dabbler, who likes to pick up a promo set to resell or save a few bucks on Doble/Triple VIP points. If you are a sharp reseller, eBay can replace many of these items. Over the past month, I have bought numerous "exclusive" sets on eBay at discounted rates. How? eBay ran Quadruple bucks for weeks which equaled 10% off. Also, eBay gave me $20 off coupons to use. Also...I paid zero tax. I negotiated with the seller and saved even more. Who needs LEGO S@H?

From a collector's side, 2 and 3 are enough to make me not want to be banned. It may not be a huge deal in terms of pure investing and deal hunting but I love the polybags and getting sets I really want early. Maybe I'm just weird but there's a certain charm in walking out of the store with your big yellow bag, or finding your official SAH package waiting at the door, something you don't get when Walmart/TRU send you a poorly packaged pooheap.

Deals have to be 20% off or more to be posted in the Daily Deals thread, not 25%. I good portion of the deals are between 20% and 25% off. That is much better than anything Lego would give to us.

If you get banned from Lego, here's what you lose: 1. No VIP points (e.***., 5% off) 2. No direct access to giveaways; you'll have to get them on Ebay. 3. Early access to VIP sets. Is there anything else? I don't see it. Even with double (or triple) VIP maps, I don't see the big deal. We don't even list Amazon deals in the Daily Deals thread unless they are 25% off.

I use Lego GC all the time. Keep in mind if looking for VIP points you do not get them at purchase but redemption.

Nice little set! I picked one up in a used lot and brick linked the few missing pieces. Unfortunately, no Killer Croc. I can't decide whether to keep it or sell it. If I sell, I don't think I'd buy Killer Croc. If I keep it, I would want to buy him. I have a big problem buying bulk lots - I end up wanting to keep them all!

Media mail is for all "normal" books (from trashy paperback fiction to textbooks and everything between) and certain other "media" (music and dvds, for example, both fall under the classification for "sound recording" and are allowed). Regardless of the usps website advertising, it's not limited to educational materials. Picked up a ge at the Milwaukee lego store along with two pab cups of brown horses and the kid gave me two shredders.

First rule of lego investing...never let what a lego store employee tells you influence your buying decisions. They don't know any more about eol than you or I do. For all you know, this store was probably sitting on a pile of pet shops and he told you that hoping to move a few of them.

if there is a new modular this summer, I think it will only help GE and FB grow in secondary market as more fans climb aboard. still relatively 'cheap' to get them vs older modulars if GE is gone and joining FB. has there been a year recently without a new modular release? PR seems to be a big hit and lots of positive feedback, helped spark more interest in the theme. and maybe helped sales with other buildings as folks want to build a modular street. I can't think 4yrs down the road for this newish hobby (small time investor) and projecting $600 hope it happens and I have a couple GEs left. I will happily start flipping at $350-$400 when and if that happens and let the big players invest longer term. maybe hold one set back!

A couple of things for many of you new investors... LEGO will ban you for multiple purchases of the same set from LEGO S@H within a short period of time...especially exclusives. LEGO is not very clear on these limits, but take it from experience, people will be banned for multiple and frequent purchases of the same set Mixing up purchases and keeping set purchases to 2 or 3 can prevent most bans Even if banned from LEGO S@H, there are many other options to buy LEGO sets...Amazon, eBay, TRU, Target, Walmart, etc...Many have better deals than LEGO themselves

Mill Village Raid + additional population and foilage 3. Helm's Deep + 100 uruk-hais and 12 Rohan riders with Gandalf charging at them And a Black Knight's Castle from my childhood!
