I never have been asked. One day a deliveryman ringed at my door if I could take a package for my neighbour who was on vacation. I said ok. It was quite a big box and my wife and I were wondering what was in it. So we were shaking it to get a clue. We were quite positive it was a torso/body. Then we saw there was a website written on the box. So we went online and searched... It was a site where you could buy XXX dolls.

I only have one guy at one of the several post offices in town that ever asks what is inside. I want to tell him it's none of his damn business, but I always just say "toys". One lady at another location had one move when she lifted it and could hear the pieces and said" Oooh, sounds like Legos, I love Legos".

I think TLG could care less about tricking resellers and toying around with the secondary market. They operate just like any other company does, they are out to make money. These shortages and status updates are all normal day to day occurrences .

We're all about promoting top notch healthy lifestyles here at BrickPicker. Nothing like practicing the art of steady hands and brick trickery, while working out on the stair climber/LEGO table combo.

As it seems like there are some members new to the part buying aspect of Bricklink, I thought I'd share some information on programs that can make it easier. Bricklink is a great thing to have, but using it at first feels like a time machine to 15 years ago and shows you just how bad online shopping can be on an outdated website design. That said, two programs that can relieve some of the pain are Brickstore and Brickficiency. Brickstore essentially lets you manage the Bricklink database in a more powerful and easier to use way. Imagine the Bricklink parts/sets catalog combined with Excel. I primarily use it to check prices and inventory levels of parts and sets, to create wanted lists for missing parts I need or sets I'm trying to build from scratch, and to verify inventory of a Bricklink order or a used set I bought. It has the ability to import set inventories, import Bricklink orders, export Bricklink wanted lists, etc which make it much faster to use than the Bricklink website. Brickficiency is a program that takes a Bricklink wanted list or Brickstore .bsx file and scans Bricklink to find the cheapest combination of 2-5 stores to purchase the parts from. This makes it very easy to find where to purchase a list of parts from, rather than having to manually and tediously use the store list on the Bricklink Wanted list page. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone who has not heard of these programs, and if you already have, you probably know how useful they are . If it would be helpful I can write some short tips and guides on using these programs to accomplish certain tasks such as verifying completeness of a used set, identifying a used set based on a few bricks, Bricklinking a complete set from scratch, etc, or even just basic Bricklink tips and info, just let me know

A guy could blow through that no problem. Just let me belly up to the bar with some boneless wings and a tall one and I'm good for pretty much the entire night.

I pulled the trigger and just bought the Grand Emporium from Lego. I am so stoked!! I was only able to buy one. I wanted to buy two but I can't afford it right now. I know it will sell out again when I get some more cash. I have to be patient.

I don't think so. Part of the success of lego is that they change their catalog frequently (about every two/three years). Would you be interested in legos (I mean, since you were a kid) if they only have overall 10 sets to sell ? It's a global startegy, and I'm sure they are tempted to produce some more GE (they certainly did with the SSD or the death star) but they do not because they need some fresh blood in their toy line to still have an appeal to buyers.

I am not an expert on their numbers, but if I was a LEGO Exec, and I kept seeing these huge quantities of expensive sets selling in mass droves, it would encourage me to make more of them. Investors, like any customer, are a market to be exploited. "Hey we're suddenly selling an absolute ton of GE/SSD/DS/FB... Stores can't keep them in stock! Better make more!" If I were in charge I'd keep kicking them out as long as possible.

Yes...it would appear that LEGO is starting to treat US and non-US markets as completely different entities. One gets discounts on exclusives, one doesn't. One gets longer production runs, one doesn't. Resellers get banned from one and not the other. Damn resellers are ruining it for collectors like myself!!!

Does Anyone have a problem with once you added the GE 10211 to your cart and you go to payment it has choices of gift card or credit card, but you cannot edit your credit card, add one or select next? I am wondering if the site is broke? I've tried safari and firefox.

I agree with this. LEGO can easily upgrade their entire S@H Point of Sale system to track and limit whatever they want. The conveniently keep their system in the Dark Ages and customers in the dark. They don't want to come out with a press release stating the fact that resellers are affecting them. That would be like adding gas to the Brickpicker fire. They send multiple promos to me and not to others. They ban some people for multiple orders and don't ban others that have ordered 100 of the same set, because they want to unload them. I value S@H and buy reasonable amounts of sets through them, but it is not the best place to buy sets in many cases.

I have been banned and I think the way they handle it is not clear nor transparent. They like the sales, and at the end of the day they are a retail front not a secondary. They know that adults are a big piece of the market. Very few adults (me included) would drop top coin for the really large expensive sets for their kids. Those are geared towards adults. If LEGO really was concerned about reselling as a problem for their business all sets would be one per household limit, not 5 or unlimited as well as they would manage promos and freebies to one per household. The reality is that they would see a serious drop in sales if they did this. They would also not allow orders beyond the limit. This would be easy to process, Amazon can do it (if only for 7 days ass they like the sales as well). LEGO is managing their image plain and simple, if not for the adult market they would not be the #2 toy company and they know it. Either way there are quite a few ways to purchase LEGO other than on-line from their store. Downside to my town is that there is no LEGO store to go to. I would also say that in the US they may be using the free PROMO as a way to flush out Re-sellers. This was implied to me in the communication that I received from them.

    In my case all I did was politely ask "So if I were to buy this 400-dollar star destroyer would that mean I get 13 of the TC-4s instead of only one?" and they didn't even hesitate to say absolutely. Management even got involved since I was having it shipped and it had a lot going on. I thought they would ask why I wanted so many TC-4s especially after I decided to get two SSDs but they didn't seem to care at all. Could be I got lucky or maybe they are sitting on 10,000 TC-4s and are trying like mad to get rid of them I dunno. I didn't go in the studio store, this was in the big store by the front gate.

Yeah I just don't think Lego and TMNT are a good match. Some here invest in the sets and I hope they do good for them I just can't get into the sets. I really don't think you have to worry about the throwback shredder getting to expensive on ebay. If there isn't anything you want on S@H right now I would just snag one on ebay. August is when some cool sets are coming out!

Arkham Asylum, UCS Batmobile and original Tumbler set. Set wise the DC stuff leaves Marvel in the dust. Minifigure wise it is a different story.

I'm in the process of assembling 7783 and 7785 from a couple of bulk lots that I picked up recently. 7783 is obviously a step above, but they make a pretty nice combo together.

Original Batcave - just incredible. Great figs, great size, great playability, great vehicles. I liked the UCS Batmobile too, but I didn't think it was nearly as good as 7783.

Original Batcave and 10937 Arkham Asylum. I don't think anything from Marvel even comes close as far as epic sets. Could probably throw UCS Batmobile in there as well.

That is the thing, they never meet you. They want you to send them money so they can scam you.

I was fortunate to get 31 of these for $21.xx each after tax from a shopko clearance sale last summer. I have it listed for $90 shipped, but haven't sold one yet. I'm not worried though. It's a great set and will sell. I'm not budging on my price, and will probably increase it once the holidays get closer.

I finished this last night. I really like the color of the wing tips unfortunately those 6 elements are the only in that dark blue color. I think this set would look a lot more realistic if the yellow elements were replaced by the dark blue. The rear wheel gearing that makes the propeller move was neat to build but is more like a toy feature. The sliding cockpit was a neat feature as well. I was missing 2 1x4 white flat tile elements, there were 2 extra 1X3 so I temporarily borrowed them from the 9493 X Wing. This made for a good comparison since they are both RRP $60 with AA having 60 more elements but minus the 4 minifigs. They are almost identical in length and width to give you a comparison. I think I will break the AA down and build the Speedboat (quick build) option next then possibly brick link the dark blue elements and rebuild the plane one of these days. If you can get this at Target for 50% clearance and red card for $28.50 I think it is a good deal. As far as an investment I would pass.

Well my 2 Lego 42009's came in this morning via FedEx. In an original Lego box. A little compression in a couple of spots, one almost mint. For $55 I am happy.

I have 11 of them bought at $110. Not sure if i should get more at $150 though. LEGO Shop at Home Europe still has them in stock.

Don't buy multiples of exclusives, especially in one order. Use LEGO S@H for hard to find exclusive sets and promotions. Buy bulk sets elsewhere.

Selling this set was very bittersweet for me. It was nice to see a big sale, but hated sending it away.
