I just wrapped up editing together my first Mixels set. I'm really impressed with the whole thing. I feel like builders can spend hours creating there own mixels from these sets. Enjoy the video.3 points

Grab some popcorn and head over here: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/2593-news-on-10221-super-star-destroyer/ . There is no romance there, but a lot of action, suspense, twists and turns3 points

I am wiring from my iPhone so I hope you can see this pic.... Found it at my nearest TRU..... It rang at 499.99 but the price tag had 429.00, they honored it And I pulled out the 20% coupon, it did not go through, manager came, admired this beast of a toy and forced the coupon.... On my way home with it.... $370.00 after tax.....3 points

Finally picked up my imperial flagship 10210 (assuming seller ships ok). It was about 1 year ago that I became active on these forums and said "that set will be mine one day". Waiting 1 year probably cost me $50-$100 in price. Word to the wise, if there are any retired exclusives out there that you "must have" best to pull the trigger on a decent price rather than wait! ;-)2 points

If you don't want to watch the whole thing, or don't have the time, I watched it all the way through, and here are a few highlights, IMO. 11:18, there is a LEGO Cathedral is amazing! So intricately designed, and accurate! The stained glass is especially impressive. 20:47, for any of you Castle lovers, there is a super impressive diorama, with a farming village, city wall, fair, palace, castle, and a pier. 23:31, an huge, and highly detailed mosaic of a dragon attacking a castle. 24:40, a large mansion on a cliff. Even the rock formations at the base are stunning. 29:36, a modular city, if any of you would like a reference of how it could possibly look. 33:09, small scale scenes for every CMS minifigure. 33:59, for you Unikitty lovers, 4 different models of Unikitty. 43:07, the Villa I believe Ranion was talking about. 43:44, a huge version of Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!! 46:12, a build of Cair Paravel, in the Chronicles of Narnia. 48:50, impressive Technic vehicle builds. 52:52, a Technic Lamborghini Aventador 56:38, huge display of several islands in the Odyssey. Continues at 59:20 1:06:13, German U-Boat 1:08:10, an really nice Battle of Kashyyyk MOC. 1:10:35, a model of a battle scene from the movie 300 1:13:34, impressive models of a few sports stadiums2 points

I'm new to the site and was thinking about starting a thread like this, and then I stumbled on this. Some great finds posted here. Very jealous! Here is my best score to date. This was three years ago. A guy on craigslist posted the ad below (I saved a pdf version of the ad because I wanted to remember it). I was hesitant to meet him as I was wondering what crazy person would only want $15 for a Star Destroyer and Falcon. I called him right away and set up a meet at a public place. He was nice. Kinda dirty and wearing overalls like he was a farmer. He showed me a big orange garbage bag with the Lego pieces. I glanced inside and saw a bunch of pieces, so I handed him the $15 and we parted ways. On my way home, I pulled into another store parking lot to really check out what was inside the bag. There were TONS of pieces inside and it turned out it was the 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer!!!...(and 4504 Falcon). Needless to say I was in shock. When I finally completed the inventory of all the pieces, the ISD was missing about 160 pieces and the Falcon was missing over half of its pieces. I chucked the Falcon pieces into my parts bin and spent about $60 buying the missing pieces for the ISD from LEGO Shop at Home. I have it on display in my man cave. Every time I look at it, I think about how lucky I was. "LEGOS Models - $15 (napa county) I have two Star Wars legos models No boxes so collectible value is basically shot I have Assembly guides for both though they are water damaged ( Instructions can be found online) One is the millennium Falcon, the other is a Star Destroyer I'm not sure if the pieces were mixed together though I'm almost sure they weren't but I'd like to get lid of both in one shot. The First retailed at almost $200 brand new the second was over $500 brand new $15 for both is one hell of a steal. e-mail me or call me if interested." My second best score was the 10181 Eiffel Tower (about three years ago as well). Found a lady on craigslist selling it for $100 with the box and instructions. I met her right away and she told me she was surprised at how many replies she received about it and that she couldn't find a buyer the previous day when she had it for sale at her garage sale. Thankfully, I was the first to meet her and also that there were no Lego collectors who hit up her garage sale. =) It was only missing a handful of pieces. I sold it for $600 to a local buyer last year.2 points

Hmm, I should get links to his comments and sell them for $8 on eBay. If people can sell links to free pdf LEGO instructions on eBay, imagine the potential customers for his sage advice2 points

Why does this sound so familiar? Hmm.... But seriously, major ouch. :(2 points

Here is a new thread for those who want to share or exchange coupons with each other. You can post new coupons for members to try out or make coupon requests here. The posts should have some general language for what you'd like to accomplish, "I'm looking for X coupon" or "X coupon is up for grabs, PM me". Please only use the main Daily Deals thread when posting confirmed new coupon codes, links to coupons, or coupon scans. Thanks all... ___________________________________________________ No More Monkeys provided a couple handy links to sets that qualify for coupons at Barnesandnoble.com Link to post with newer sets without coupon restriction: http://www.brickpick...e-2#entry290354 Link to post with older sets without coupon restriction: http://www.brickpick...ndpost&p=2859561 point

Unboxing works fine. It's your style of video review format anyway and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I1 point

I know several board members have inquired about the number of sealed bags for sets. I was wondering if we could add that feature to the lego set description. I know most of the old sets would be hard to find but we can at least start with modern sets. I am sure the members here would have no problem supplying the information. I just opened my Ewok Village and can supply the info for that set or any set I decide to build.1 point

Good idea. In the mean time, Grolim has been maintaining a list and would welcome your inputs via this thread: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/10178-number-of-sealed-bags-in-each-lego-set/page-41 point

it could help us in a few ways. 1) we (and vendor) don't have an exact # of orders yet. if the vendor says, you'll get a $2 savings at 50 orders. great news until we find out we have 80+ orders. don't we deserve a larger discount than $2? this will save a lot of emailing back and forth. 2) the more we buy, the cheaper the cost 3) if we have 46 set orders at $17. ...and we know at 50+ orders, the cost goes down to $16, that will entice extra orders from people.1 point

They sure show you who has the balls (in case pic is not clear, they put a line over $49.99 and had $59.99 in bold)1 point

9472 - Attack on Weathertop. Rather nicely compact design of the main build and I am particularly impressed by the curved wall effect on the back side that you don't see on the box anywhere which is absurd in my opinion. Here are a couple of images showing the back curved wall. The inside is cramped but alright when opened up and there is a trapdoor on the top floor which is always fun. Ha. The Ringwraiths, of course, are the real attraction to the set. The horses are simply perfect in so many scenarios calling for an 'evil rider' and the Ringwraiths themselves are just fantastic especially the unique desolate capes. There is a small handful of dark green parts mixed in there with a tan bush piece so there are a number of generally rare parts to top the given selection of bricks off. All in all, it is a nicely compact set with a few good play features except the flick missiles that have absolutely no reason to be there. Not a design flaw but the stairway pieces although look nice are a real 'spiteful woman' to get setup correctly and have them stay there. I think Lego should have made them with some 'teeth' on the bottom in the circle area of the part itself so that they could actually connect with each other and allow for precise adjustments instead of now where they seem to just slide around any which way they please.1 point

Is has not happened to me yet but I started thinking about what one could do if it happened. Maybe it would be a good idea to add a comment to the product description when selling, like: "Please note: In rare cases brand new factory-sealed LEGO sets can be missing parts, figures or bags due to packaging errors by LEGO itself. Please be aware that I cannot refund you in a case like this or replace the set as a whole. You would have to contact LEGO customer service by yourself and ask them to send you the missing parts, which is normally free of charge. Please also be aware that missing parts of a set that is officially long sold out at retail can not anymore be at LEGO's disposal."1 point

Do i have to do everything for everyone!?! Some of you all need to pay attention. Aftwr seeing the palace get retired cause it's offensive for religious reasons then seeing the haunted hause be sited for devil toys I took the liberty to speed the process up for the ssd. Clearly we know it stands for something very inappropriate especially given its shape. I complained to lego and they told me due to my intimidating tactics the ssd will be retired by year end. You're welcome.1 point
