Im with you. No offense to anyone at all, but seriously sometimes we (I say we because I have done it and then felt like an ass about it) go too far in trying to get a discount. If you know how to sell, MINT means very little. To build? means nothing. Almost every new set I build comes out of the Amazon Warehouse. I have gotten them smashed, repackaged, literally destroyed. I simply check that the contents are ok, move on. I can understand selling, although i still think people are too worried about that (I just sold a beat up Hulk 6868 for 110$ last month), but building you just don't need to worry about it. The more returns, discounts, etc. that happen on these sets, the more it hurts everyone else. Heck, I am worried to legitimately return a set to Amazon when its missing parts because of the ban-tales (every once in a while a amazon warehouse set is missing parts).2 points

This is a two category contest and the winner of either one shall be chosen based on peoples votes so yes although this time I was going to try a different means of voting more similar to the Eurobricks method for a change of pace. Anyway, the entry submission timeframe has now officially closed. I will not accept any new entries or modify old ones past this point. The voting period shall begin shortly. Thank you everyone who participated.2 points

HH is under review "While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!) We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."2 points

If this is true, I think it is wiser to invest in Galaxy Squad or something like that. There will be close to zero competition. We are not alone anymore. That is why I can only advise to spread your investments in as many different sets possible.2 points

The season of scaring is not for another few months but I figure we could pool some ideas together on what would be cool to feature in a custom Halloween Town in the meantime and even continue afterwards for years to come. I think we all know the Monster Fighters sets are a given for this epic diorama so what I am really shooting for is more about unique build ideas or special scene setups over 'straight-from-the-box' designs. I should give gratitude to Alpinemaps for the inspiration from conversation in the "What did you build today?" thread. Alright here's an idea to start. Each Escape from Mirkwood Spiders set includes two of those spider sacks and a tree to hang them from. Now my idea is to have a generic Lego skeleton figure in one of those while the other has a skull head with some bone pieces.1 point

You the man. Ill check this one and confirm if it has the same amount.1 point

Not trying to be a smart ass, I'm genuinely interested, but if you plan on opening the set to build anyway, why do you care what condition it arrives in? When I go to buy an opener, I pick the box in the worst condition so the better boxes are saved for others. Do you guys save the empty boxes or do you just want to get money knocked off?1 point

Not necessarily Halloween in the classic sense but you can build a "Honey I shrunk the Kids" area with all of the Galaxy Quest bug looking vehicles. There are giant praying mantis, caterpillar, flies, ants, etc. Also, how about Garmaddon Dark Fortress ? That set screams Halloween even with little to no modifications. Park a few Skull Motorbikes in front of it for added creepy/funky look. Also, 2011 Ninjago sets have a few different skull heads if you want more than the standard LEGO skulls to accessorize your cemetery1 point

From what I heard - yes. Knowing them would help if amazon and walmart are selling same run, and wether or not it is a leftover of alrewdy known run1 point

This along with the dynamic duo funhouse escape. That would make a nice haunted funhouse MOC. You could somehow incorporate the witch head polybag set as a statue on top of the ride or in the funhouse somehow.1 point

or someone could turn the fairground mixer into a haunted carnival.1 point

While I'm all for investing in a theme like Galaxy Squad if you can buy it at the right price, you can't compare a generic Space themed set with some unique looking Creator set that would appeal to AFOLs. The AFOLs, for the most part, are what supports the high end secondary market, so you have to figure an adult would rather spend big bucks on a cool adult oriented set, rather than some run of the mill CITY or Space set.1 point

Dino was always going to be popular. No one expected the short production run though.1 point

Its a really fun game. Not to spoil that, but there is a new version called Tsuros of the seas. They should have made it an expansion, but it includes more gameplay (adds dragons that can kill you). It is a really fun and simple game.1 point

Used to love playing Stratego when I was younger but for some reason relearning all the rules has taken the fun out of it for me. Now I'm pretty much limited to Monopoly, Clue, and Life. Used to play Risk but stopped, caused too many hard feelings and fights hahaha1 point

I know I told my wife that I am pretty much done with allocations to LEGO for our portfolio barring a few high profile retirements and top offs. the mass investing is about finshed, then some sweet deal or something else comes out and I am dragged back in. No debt for me in this but I need to put resources elsewhere for other things. Visiting my brother the other week and went to the LEGO discovery center and they had 9 Helms Deep, I bought six. Barely fit them on the drive back. I could not pass them up. Same store had the Tie fighters, I decided to pass. Not in line with my plan and decided that reason and logic had to shut it down. Only outliers for my if GE does well is 10 more of each Town hall and Pet shop, 5 more of Orthanc later.1 point

I'm quite new here, but this set looks great in my opinion. Veteran guys, do you think this set is going to have a brilliant future in a couple of years? I could get a few of them for 751 point

I studied marketing, advertising, and promotion. I'm I Dan Draper! Heck no. Prob more like Lou. Anyway, it still makes no sense to "feature" a set in the US Summer catalog. 10221 will prob still be available until at least late fall / early winter in the US. Could it be be bait to sell out faster? Sure. Just strange. Anyway remember if the B-Wing was in the last Fall and Holiday calendar?1 point

Okay, so technically I didn't buy this today. I bought it about a month ago, but I had it shipped to friends of mine in Buffalo and only just got my hands on it last night. It's a bulk lot of about 10 lbs of LEGO (or rather, 7 lbs of LEGO and 3 lbs of junk) that I got for $43 from shopgoodwill.com. I don't usually go in for bulk lots, but I recognized a bunch of parts for 7785 Arkham Asylum and 7625 River Chase so I took a chance on it. I just finished sorting it and I'm only missing 19 pieces for 7785 and all the minifigs are there, even Nightwing. Batman is missing his cape, but that isn't a big deal. 7625 is only missing Indy's whip and the crocodile, and I also ended up with a fully complete 3830 Bikini Bottom Express. There's some Atlantis, Rock Raiders and Res-Q stuff as well, but nothing worth wasting any time on. Weirdly, I also found the dark green door frame that only appears in 4762 Rescue From The Merpeople, but didn't find anything else at all from that set. The wall by itself is on Bricklink for $20-30 though, so that's something (one seller has it listed for $100, but I'm going to disregard that). All in all I'd say it was a pretty good gamble1 point

Take pictures and talk to amazon customer service via chat. They will probably give you a discount. That's what I plan on doing when mine arrive if they come like that. If you spend $800 on two toys then you should expect them to arrive in an acceptable condition. I would not return them though, even if they do not offer you a discount (but they probably will).1 point

Finished building my 10227 UCS B-Wing last night. I'm pretty impressed by it, it's huge and nicely detailed. I've read a lot of negative reviews about it, and I'm glad I didn't let them dissuade me from buying this. One of the common complaints is that it's unstable, I find it to be opposite. It feels very solid in hand. The back of the cockpit does come off easily, but that's the only weak point of the model. Not sure where I'm going to put this thing, I'll have to clear out a large swath of shelf space to fit it.1 point

I am going to post it on ebay for $500. It's a super special edition i think.1 point

Maybe I am wrong but Arkham Asylum is not under Marvel license or did u mean DC license? Is there any marvel exclusive out there which I am missing? I have zero AA so far1 point
-
Lego has the License for Marvel til 2015, so when the License expires so do the sets including Exclusives, just like last year with Harry Potter License expired in 2012 and so did the 10217 Exclusive, only exception is the Star Wars Exclusives, which Lego can make them as long as they want. Now lego can apply for an extension for the License. But either way I set like this you will easy make $200 or more profit. If you don't think this is a great money maker down the line well don't get any. I just can't think why anybody on this site would even think that this isn't going to be pure gold. I got 6 of them now and i am shooting for about 40 of them, don't let it get by you like the 10212 Shuttle, Black Pearl, Queen Revenge, Potter castle and so many other ones. And sure that sale last week for $120 on Amazon was great, thats how I got my six, but if we wait for sales like that again, well who know's when that will happen, and will you be on the computer at that time, as we all know all sale like that does not last but a few minutes.1 point
