If you told me a couple years ago I would be a moderator having 10,000 posts under my belt ranked as Chairman of the Brick with a Haunted House on permanent display from earned points, I would thought you were crazy yet here I am or better here we are. I honestly wasn24 points

Just got the update from eBay that all my files are available. I took a quick look and do see them there, so tonight I will start to work on the price guide update. Since I am doing two months, it will take a bit longer than normal, but hopefully it should be there by Wednesday/Thursday. I have fixed a bunch of the migration bugs, so sporadic errors should start to be minimizing. Again, thank you for your patience, trust me, I know it's annoying when things don't work right.4 points

Don't make the mistake of thinking that RAID is a backup system, because it's not. It's just a way of keeping your server up-and-running during a disk crash. You should always backup critical data, regardless of the RAID level you're using.2 points

I bought a MISB Cafe Corner for almost $600 after watching the values of this gaudy and tacky set continue to rise from $300 in a few months. It was then I realized that the Modulars were a fan favorite.2 points

Lol...it's funny that you remember that I am an achiever. I haven't had the dude and Walter as my profile pic for quite some time now. Best. Movie. Ever. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker1 point

I always enjoy your posts, TOK. Keep them coming, especially the youtube clips! Sometimes things get a little too serious around here and your sense of humor helps to keep things in perspective. Congrats!1 point

Alright here is my request: Whenever this set does retire, us brickpickers own the second hand market. So can we all just agree to jack up our prices to like 2,500$?!1 point

Congrats, TOK! I remember when I first joined up, you and Stephen were already dominating in post count. The forum has definitely come a long way, with you playing a huge role in its development! See you in 1,111 posts!1 point

Funny how just 7 months ago everyone on this site would do anything to get their hands on those sets ( discounted price was nice but not necessary)1 point

no problem at all. I've seen so many posts saying that Lego is 'screwing' with us that it and like you were serious. As to your note about the system being triggered by Phantom stock. I think there are plenty of legit issues that could make a system behave like this. There's failed payments, mistyped 3 digit CC codes, billing addresses not matching, etc that could take the final batch of items and throw them into a temporary state of. .. we're not sure if these are really sold or not. It might take cs reps several attempts to call customers and untangle all these issues. Some are true failed payments and the item becomes available, some get resolved. All of this happens all the time but is hidden by the 100's in inventory. This is just my theory of what we're seeing.1 point

First sets I bought with no intention of quick-flipping were 2 Grand Emporiums. I have a couple of Live Stars I got just before the no-discounts policy went into effect which are at this point long term investments, even though I wasn't thinking of them as such when I bought them over a year ago. *Sigh*. (It only took a year, but I'm finally at the point where I'm actually investing...next thing you know, I'll be making snide remarks about quick-flipping low lifes LOL)1 point

Did I miss the post about GE being removed from TRU.com or is this a new revelation?1 point

or more likely this is exactly how an inventory system works when it goes from thousands available to just a handful available.1 point

Lego celebrates its 15th anniversary since the first wave of releases for Star Wars in 1999! Amazing it really has been that long, huh? via The Brick Fan1 point

If this is the case why didn't we see the Delorean go out of stock while they changed the box? The Rover may come back but I don't think it will have anything to do with the box. Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker1 point

That's another important fact to keep in mind. With sets this size, after all shipping and fees are taken out, even if the set doubles in value your profit will never be that high, unless you sell several of them.1 point

I was doing some shopping at my favorite Target today. It is worth mentioning that I was there two days ago, and they didn't have anything worthwhile LEGO-wise. Being the eternal LEGO optimist, I decide to check the LEGO aisle again. And there it was...on the top shelf, all by itself, with rays of sunlight beaming down on it. The Zombies 9465! Now before anyone gets too excited, the box is in pretty bad shape. I'm talking maybe a 6/10 for condition. Regardless, I was beside myself with excitement. Horrible condition aside, the good news didn't stop there. I got to the checkout, fully prepared to pay $39.99 for it. Then it rung up at $27.98! On top of this, I found a Desert Skiff set that someone had returned. It was on clearance for $17.48. Also a pretty sweet deal! The point of this thread is not to gloat, no sir! The moral here is that if you live close enough to a retail outfit that carries LEGO, it would benefit you to check back as frequently as possible. I never thought I was going to come across these two sets today. I was prepared to feel the disappointment that has been more common lately than not. I hope everyone who reads this has a similar experience soon! Happy hunting everyone!1 point
