Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. Fcbarcelona101's : Selling LEGO : Basic Materials Guide Mos Eisley 's : LEGO Storage Wars Incompetech's Catalog of Amazon.com Box Sizes - (thanks No More Monkeys) Amazon Boxes Sorted list by length - courtesy of pstebbing I've scoured the forums and here is a list of box sizes with basic set information: Boxes: 24x20x8 : Super Star Destroyer; Death Star, Roller Coaster, UCS Sandcrawler, Assembly Square 24x20x6 : Thicker sets like Town Hall, Tower Bridge 24x16x6 - 60052 Cargo Train, R2-D2, Maersk Line Triple-E, 7939 Cargo Train 24x16x4 - Helm's Deep, Vampyre Castle, Black Pearl, Friends Riding Camp, Parisian Restaurant, High Speed Passenger Train, Jabba's Palace, Downtown Diner 24x20x4 : Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, Imperial Shuttle, Haunted House, Palace Cinema, Fire Brigade 24x14x4 : Dolphin Cruiser, Coast Guard Patrol 24x4x12 - Dolphin Cruiser, Coast Guard Patrol 20x16x4 - Volkswagen Camper Van, Olivia's House, Sonic Raider, Sopwith, Creator Bike Shop, Batcave, Quinjet, Moria & Ambush 20x16x6 : Thicker sets like the Republic Gunship; City Cargo Plane 20x14x4 : Attack on Weathertop, Hulk 's Helicarrier Breakout, X-Wing 9493, Black Gate 16x16x4 : Gungan Sub, Pre Viszla, Tie Fighter 16x10x4 : Council of Elrond, Desert Skiff, City Grand Prix Truck 16x10x6 : Thicker sets like Creator Family House, Hillside House 15x12x4 : Funhouse, Orc Forge, Tumbler Chase, Daily Bugle Showdown, Hulk Lab Smash 12x12x4 : Uruk Hai Army, City Cargo Truck, Creator Treehouse, City Fire Emergency 11-3/4x8-3/4x4-3/4 : Wolverine Chopper, Arctic Batman, Power Armor Lex, Droid Escape, Cloud Cuckoo Palace 12x8x3 - Battle Packs, CA Avenging Cycle, Catwoman, Gandalf Arrives, Holiday sets 10x8x4 : Battle Packs, CA Avenging Cycle, Catwoman, Gandalf Arrives, Holiday sets Envelopes: 4x8 : Minifigs & small polybags 6x9 : Polybags small & larger 10.5 x 16 : Larger shipments of 3 x polybags or more Packing Tape : buy in bulk or on sale : you can throw some in during a Staples coupon promotion to get up to free shipping Walmart.com Duck Brand Packaging Tape http://www.staples.com/Staples-Standard-Grade-Packaging-Tape-Clear-189-x-110-yds-6-Rolls/product_380107 Retailers: Uline.com : holiday sale starts first part of November (usually 30% off) Staples.com : use coupon promotions - $10 off $30, $20 off $75, free shipping over $60 Walmart.com USPS Priority Mail (free boxes at USPS.com) Michigan Box Company: Flat Boxes 18"-23" L (thanks pstebbing) GBE Packaging (thanks pstebbing) PackingSupplies.com http://www.packaging...ated_boxes.html (thanks pstebbing) Bubble Wrap: 3/16" thick x 350' ft x 12" wide - eBay Sams Club 3/16" - 12"x240' $12.98 (In store) ($.05/LF) (thanks pstebbing) I like to use large and small retailer plastic bags to wrap items in, even after I bubble wrap it. For battle packs and even small sets, I sometimes use Wal-Mart, Target, or plastic bags from any store. Additional packing isn 't really needed. Usually like 2 bags on bottom, one to wrap the item, and two bags on top. Make sure to cover the corners of the item real nice to provide extra padding. Rule of thumb : ship & pack all of your items the same way you 'd like to receive items you've purchased. Shipping Paper: Collect it when you receive shipments. http://www.amazon.com/Pratt-Multipurpose-Packaging-KPR30241200R-Length/dp/B00AI652CM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408061459&sr=8-1&keywords=pratt+kraft+paper+1200? I 'll update it with what everyone wants added. I hope this is helpful.12 points

<scare>And in a few weeks Lego will cross-reference their new data from eBay with their own, and find all those who sold Lego recently and are in their VIP program.</scare>4 points

It'd be nice nice if TLG gave a Donald Duck about the bootleggers. How they allow eBay to advertise endless illegal fakes is beyond me3 points

re Bricklink: around Jan when Lego had the VWC on sale for $80 I wanted one and had to call Lego CS as they had the call for availability tag on their website. Lady said that they were OOS, would not restock then she suggested I check a website called bricklink as they sell Lego stuff.3 points

Considering it's their prerogative who they sell to I think you'll be wasting your time going down the legal route. If you live in the States you have other options so it's not like it's that big of a deal3 points

Hi all. Seems like a good idea to change our passwords, since multiple sources are reporting this morning that eBay has confirmed a cyber attack and will be requesting users to change passwords. From here: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/ebay-asks-users-to-change-passwords-after-cyberattack-2014-05-21 EBay asks users to change passwords after cyberattack NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- EBay Inc. EBAY -1.85% said Wednesday it will ask its users to change passwords after a cyberattack that compromised a database containing encrypted passwords. The online auctioneer said it has no evidence that the attack led to unauthorized access to financial or credit-card information but is working with law-enforcement and security experts. "Changing passwords is a best practice and will help enhance security for eBay users," the company said in a statement. Shares were down 1.4% in premarket trade.2 points

I wonder how many of these 20k members are active. It must be quite a few by looking at the "online within the last 20 min" list at the bottom of the page, but 20k members doesn't mean 20k active members (say, active within the last few weeks or so). I also didn't want to cause panic or something. Using the affiliate links is quite probably safe. And as far as I know nobody got banned because of an account on BP yet.2 points

I'm trying to figure out why so many people think that just because the mini is coming out that the T1 has to go. Is there some rule I don't know about that says there can only be a certain number of vehicle sets out?2 points

Cloud city and temple of doom...GO!2 points

I chose cloud city, I'll never get my hands on it so it would be neat to see it built and reviewed.2 points

As much as I love LEGO, there are just certain things that these little plastic bricks can't provide that a loving wife can, like your own children. 8-)1 point

Watch out for chargebacks on Paypal. There's a loophole and many taking advantage of it. "After doing a little research, anyone who sells on eBay and accept PayPal, can easily be the victim of a chargeback. eBay1 point

YMMV - Technically no, on the coupons (and all coupons should work this way) it says you need to surrender the coupon. However many members have had success using scans or just giving the coupon codes. Remember each coupon can only be used once per Rewards R Us account - that is something flagged in the system. Not that anyone listens to my pleas for restraint, but I urge members to use a little discretion with this stuff. Remember the golden eggs. We've had posts about the dangers of dropshipping, someone needs to write one up about the dangers of coupon abuse.1 point

I'm not saying don't buy them, I just think the reasoning that some are coming up with on why these are done doesn't make sense. If a set is done, it's done. If they want to continue producing it they will. We could sit here all day coming up with theories on why it's staying or going, but in the end they will have no impact on anything.1 point

There will only be one VW vehicle available regardless since Mini Cooper is owned by BMW.1 point

I think ebay should let us list fixed price for free again as an apology for their security fail1 point

I have bought hundreds of sets through LEGO S@H through the years. I don't order 10 of this and 20 of that. I mix it up and stay within their limits. Many people on this site will lie and say,"Oh, I only bought 3 sets!!!." Nonsense. They want the sympathy from other members, but 9 times out of ten, they bought something in mass quantities that triggered the ban.1 point

People are not getting banned for being members of Bricklink, Brickpicker, Brickset, BrickOwl...They are getting banned for being Brickbrains and buying multiples on LEGO [email protected] exceeding the limits set. People are not being selectively targeted unless something in their buying history is audited. It is then a LEGO rep probably looks deeper into a customer's history and might find a connection to a store on eBay, BrickOwl or Bricklink. Either way, it is not the end of the world to be banned from LEGO S@H. The best discounts are found elsewhere.1 point

Here's another article about it from CNET. http://www.cnet.com/news/ebay-hacked-requests-all-users-change-passwords/ Not very reassuring that it happened in February or March and they just realized it a few weeks ago.1 point

Sorry but this is wrong. I got a ban but I have been successful making an account with my wife's name, email, and credit card. The shipping address is the same of course. So they will ship to a banned buyers address.1 point

I really don't think anyone is looking at anything. There really is no identifier of exactly what is happening. Just don't be careless and purchase 40 of these and 60 of those, etc.1 point

Lego should pay you commission if you build the Ewok Village haha I'll probably buy one.1 point

So TLG keeps production info a secret, but they've decided to give this store the inside scoop? Right, because no store has ever tried methods like this to move product.1 point

According to this review there are 16 bags. The way that you can tell if a seal has been tampered with is just by inspecting it. Feel the seals and make sure there is no clear tape holding it together. If I were you, I would ask the guy you are buying this from if it is okay with him if you open up the box to inspect the contents before buying. If the seals do not look tampered with and if there is a bag missing, you can contact LEGO and they will probably send you a new one. Just explain the situation to them.1 point

So Maleficent isn't even in theatres yet, and a trailer for Cinderella (2015) is already out. (Don't get too excited about the trailer...I'll save you time and just tell you that it's just the shoe. No people. No pumpkins. Just the shoe.)1 point

Yeah, same, but will wait for a sale. $49.99 is steep for a set of that piece count with no "extras" (maxifig, animals, etc.) in my book. GIVE ME MY COLOSSUS MAXIFIG!!1 point
