I just wrapped up another Lego Train Video. It wasn't as exciting as the Cargo Train, due to all three cars basically being the same thing, but it look incredible zipping around the track. The Trains Station is really great. A really fun build. Enjoy the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH-l9tQfsaA10 points

And then we have Staples.com same box 24"X8"X20" 20 to a bundle $52.78 and the key is "FREE SHIPPING" So Staples it is, be sure and sign up for an a account and they are always sending codes and coupons. So Lets get these babies boxed up. Ed3 points

Knowing when retailers are out of certain items open a window of opportunity to exploit the shortage in the market, so much money can be made in a short period of time. Risky?? Very. Rewarding ??? Hell yeah. Now if you are sleeping on a set for years, it might not be significant to you . As far as eol guess, yes it doesn't predict anythin and nothing does till TLG slaps a retired tag on a product , other than that it is but a guessing game .3 points

I work a few minutes away from Watertower, so during the week I pop in there a few times. I have only stumbled onto a good deal a few times. They blew out the Lennox Lion chariot things one day for 70/75% off, so I grabbed 2. If you guys want any notifications for what they have there lmk and I can walk over during lunch.2 points

Congratulations, that`s great news!!! As with any investor who has children, make sure you protect your sets, and remember that baby comes first!2 points

Did anyone else expect to see it fly off the track when sped up and turning around that one corner? Good video all the same, ufema.2 points

You mean Baxter's Robot Rampage? Yeah the page is there still but it also displays the "Sold Out" tag without any change of status which could very well mean the set is down for the count. Like the recent half off Desert Skiff, how many people actually managed to get any at that sale price? In any case, I can hardly wait to see how much either set goes for this Christmas. Now in regards to the overall topic, isn't it a little premature to write off the theme as an investment while every single set continues to be currently available in most stores and online? I can purchase all sets from the first wave off Shop-at-Home minus Baxter2 points

I hate to break it to many of you, but the ability to see how many sets Amazon had in inventory was always a worthless endeavor. What many assumed was Amazon's inventory of a set probably had nothing to do with real stock numbers or future inventory if more shipments were on the way. It makes for interesting discussion, but how many times has the 10188 Death Star gone down to zero in Amazon's history? At least 3 or 4 times that I know of and the set is still going strong. Judging EOL off of Amazon's inventory data is waste of time IMO. You are better off using a Ouija board.2 points

Two years after this theme has come and gone a lot of you will be wishing you bought more of these sets. While I haven't gone completely crazy buying them, I do have a decent amount of the first wave sets. Have these tripled in value once gone from the primary market like a few of the recent super heroes sets have? No, but once this theme is completely gone they will be in demand on the secondary market. Why? Because it's the turtles! They have just as large and dedicated a fan base as some of the main stream super heroes.2 points

I suggested this to Ed earlier today to have communities based on location where members can exchange which stores they got their deals from, meeting up and trading sets, etc. Based on my count, there are at least 87 Targets, 39 Toys R Us', over 100 Walmart's(lost count after 110), and 4 LEGO Shop at Home stores in Illinois. To start things off, I am usually in the Chicago area. I usually go to 4 Targets that are located near my house/school. They are: Chicago McKinley Chicago West Loop Chicago Mid North Chicago Near North Occasionally, I will go to a Walmart or two, and rarely go to the Lego Store because it is located in the middle of Downtown. For me, I like the Chicago West Loop location because it is new. Though all the Targets I have been to always seem to have understaffed checkout lines, I still enjoy looking on their shelves for anything that might have been misplaced. I believed that this is the location that has very organized Clearance shelves, usually with a couple employees lurking around ready to answer questions, or check the prices for stuff. While I was last at this location (Saturday), there were at least 20 Lego Heroica Draida Bay sets for about $4. I heard that Heroica was going to discontinue, so I only picked up a couple to sell immediately. Hope this theme of member location based forums grows!!!!1 point

HAHAHA opened the hotel I received from 2nd and Charles. Looked like it was packaged mad...but the receipt is classic passive aggressive: "A GIFT FOR YOU!" Yes indeed.1 point

Congrats! Nothing compares to the feeling of a first child. I have 3, all girls, all growing up fast. Remember to cherish each stage of her development as you'll look back in a few years and be amazed how fast it's progressed.1 point

Fair enough, what I mean is I paid him and received a non-drop shipped product that wasn't filled with books and megabloks, so for me that is enough to consider it legitimate and have no qualms over the seller1 point

between Uefma's videos and your posts, it is always nice to how sets are being appreciated outside a monitory context. Keep up the great work.1 point

I really like your "building reviews." I think they should be of current sets though. Most people cannot afford a Cloud City1 point

I like the idea of building big sets, just because it takes time, it's relaxing, and you really get to enjoy how it's engineered. So I voted Arkham and Ewok Village.1 point

...there are still a huge number of people out there who doesn't know or care about the real value of the Lego sets they are selling/posting on CL... these people wants a quick sale and have their money right away... ...several years ago, I saw a listing for a Statue of Liberty (when the set was long discontinued)... the posting said complete with box... so I e-mailed the seller and asked her asking price... she said I can have it for $40, so I told her I'll take it... I was hesitant at first and asked several questions regarding the set... she said it was a gift to her son and that he lost interest after starting on a few bags... a few minutes later, she e-mailed me back and said that since it was a big set, she want $60 for it... I told her I'd still buy it... my biggest problem was that she was 2 1/2 hours drive a way from me but still willing to take a chance without knowing what I'm getting myself into... yet another e-mail from her later on, she said for an additional $20, she'll meet me closer to my location (now I only have to drive less than 30 minutes away), for a total of $80... I told her I'm fine with that... ...to make a long story short, we met, saw the set but couldn't tell if it was complete or not with the box in good condition... gave the $80 and thank her, and brought home the Statue of Liberty set... a couple of weeks later and after ordering $7-10 worth of parts from LEGO Shop at Home, I was able to finish and complete the set... as I always tell myself when dealing with CL postings, "you win some, you lose some"...1 point

Hi! I joined maybe about a month ago and have been perusing these boards every time I have a few minutes to spare at the office. Alpinemaps comment was funny. I have two kids so I definitely could relate. Hoping I can be a contributing member going forward, but I'm a small investor compared to a lot of members here.1 point

I live in Seattle, so I got a chance to see the second showing of the new LEGO documentary. It is a fun film, and shows off a lot of the great things that LEGO fans are building around the world. If you want to learn more, I've put together a detailed review on my blog which calls out my highlights from the film. LINK Sincerely, ---tom1 point

I do have every intention of doing that eventually. It will require some extra time, which I'm willing to come up with, but also the courage. It really is something that I hope to accomplish in the very near future.1 point

Your videos are professional, ufema! I have to say, I enjoy your videos more than many of the other Youtube reviews because you show so much detail in the actual building process. Would you consider doing a little commentary at the end to make the video more of a review, rather than a step-by-step building time-lapse?1 point

Not a big fan of canned beer, but that's a pretty ingenious way to use those storage heads. I didn't know they made them in anything other than the classic smiley face. Now if it had some cold bottles of Sam Adams or maybe a nice 312 or Sunshine Wheat, we'd be onto something.1 point

Found at WM in Toms River. 79007 Battle at the Black Gate for $20 and 79002 Attack of the Wargs for $19 Also Chima 70106 Ice Tower $5 2 - 70104 Jungle Gates for $5ea. Not big on Chima but for $5 bucks I couldn't pass.. Any thoughts?1 point

I think it will work within a 'certain crowd' of which I am not a part of to be honest but of course in the grand scheme of what the buying public wants, my opinion means diddly. After watching the trailer, my interest in seeing the movie is much like that of a train wreck. It's an absolutely horrendous event yet my eyes can't look away out of strange morbid curiosity. While Micheal Bay and the box office will be pleased, fans everywhere will lose. Man, those movie turtles are fugly with a capital "F". :wacko:1 point

I really like your videos, but I wish someone would make one for 10179. I think it would help tame the urge to finally buy that set.1 point

So would I, as I have a few of each. The 10212 set taught me one can never have enough of them. That being said, I need to flip a few more sets before I acquire anymore of anything. The list of what I want exceeds my fund supply atm, a problem I am sure we all have1 point
