I was browsing through the forum and read someone else's intro, and realized I should probably introduce myself too... I've loved Legos ever since I was a kid, but we didn't have a lot of money so I never got into collecting -- That is until the Holiday Season of 2012. My wife and I were shopping at Walmart, I saw the LOTR sets, and that did it for me! You know how as a kid we all want to be adults so we can get what we want when we want it? I mean that in a reasonable way, of course, like having dessert before (or dare I say it, instead of) dinner, or buying that awesome toy you've been eyeing without having to save your allowance for months and months. Well, I just had to have Helm's Deep... and little by little I had to have all of the LOTR sets! Soon Thanksgiving came around, and people started putting up their Christmas decorations. I remembered that my wife had mentioned over the years that she always wanted a train going around our Christmas Tree. So I did what any decent husband would do: While she was in Texas visiting her family, I went to TRU and bought a 3677 Red Cargo Train (with coupons and whatnot it came out to about $115). However, I had no intentions of building a cargo train to go around our tree. With 3677's tracks, power functions, wheels and bases for the train cars, plus some spare pieces from my still very humble collection at the time, I built her a MOC Hogwarts Express (sort of a blend between the 4708 and the 4841). When she arrived home from Texas, I had her new MOC going around our tree, and that got her hooked on the Harry Potter line! Over the next few months, our collection slowly grew, and I began to see the potential for making some money out of this newfound hobby. I started buying sets on clearance and selling on craigslist before I ever found this amazing site on the Summer of 2013. Since then, I have been reading up on the articles here, researching different sets and themes, and growing my collection to what's now over 215 sets (not counting the ones I haven't logged yet), plus some bulk purchases and PAB's. I just started reading and posting on this forum about a week ago, and I wish I'd come here sooner! Thanks to all of you who contribute here by posting articles, answering questions on the forum, and providing us noobs with valuable insight into the world of Lego collecting and investing!2 points

I am surprised, quite a few car lovers on here actually. Finally made it home to my computer and my photos so here are my two children Currently my Daily Driver is a 2006 BMW Z4 convertible: And my absolute prized possession and first love: A 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (1 of 154 in it's color, all original and low miles) Hoping to add another slightly more suited daily driver to the mix soon just haven't decided what.2 points

Out of stock with a ship date means that you can buy the set, but they will not be able to send it to you until they have re-stocked. The ship date is the time that you will most likely receive your order.1 point

Yeah, pretty sure these are these injection points. I took a look at several pieces, and all of them have the dot. If they were filled with a gate on the side, there would be some sort of mark, but the only imperfection on new pieces is the dot. If the piece has studs, it's on one of them; if it's smooth, you can find a little dimple on one of the sides instead. I also figure that the LEGO logo on studs is also molded. It wouldn't make business sense to load every single piece up then reset them in a different machine to imprint a logo when the whole thing could be done as one step. Also, you could level out your machining marks at the edge of the stud, but I don't think you could carve out around the logo/part number on the bottom without leaving some sort of evidence. The kids and I are snowed in today, so we just put together my Constitution Train Chase (my four-year-old keeps referring to it as the Consti-choo-choo). All of the burgundy pieces and a good share of the brown ones had the white dot. It looks like the problem is something we get to deal with now, but the dots should fade with some with time (and especially use, if you're one to play with your toys).1 point

Welcome to the site! Were the Batman sets the Arkham Asylum or Batcave?1 point

Congrats. The Jabba sets are awesome especially when paired with the Skiff and Rancor sets. The Sail Barge is "alright at best" and has updated features than 6210 I also bought a few Batman 1 sets when after my son was born. So far we have 2 copies of Tumbler 7888 (1 sealed). The open sets we have our Arkham, Killer Croc, Catwoman chase, and the Batmobile. My son really wants the Batplane set and H.Quinn sets. I had a Batcave but sold it - should have kept it let me know if you ever want to trade or sell a Batman 1 set. The Indiana Jones sets are also cool.1 point

I give you a lot of credit. Working on computers/websites all day, then working on BP on your free time. I'm a Honda mechanic. By the end of the day I have had enough of cars. I don't even like driving my self home. That what I love about the Legos, unrelated. I try to stay away from the Lego cars even1 point

Sold a used 7938/7939 combo for $229.99 and a lot of 36 baseplates for $139.99. Still selling off a Craigslist lot of 115 lbs. and it looks like in the end should net around a $1000 profit. I wasn't able to make many sets, but the nice parts, figures, baseplates, and sets I could make turned out to be a very nice lot. That, and my son gets to keep the Creator Lighthouse, Seaside house, and Bank and Money Transfer sets and dad gets to keep a Maersk Train on top of it.1 point

10231 the other day. I probably could have squeezed $20 more by waiting for Christmas. Oh well..1 point

Rocky and Bullwinkle on the prowl. As for the feedback, as long as they pay, I don't worry too much about their feedback unless it's below zero and they are obviously a fraud. Everybody has to get started on ebay. Always get tracking, no matter what.1 point

It is one per order. Check the daily deals thread for the afternoon madness1 point

IMO I wouldn't do international and no tracking even if they had 200 feedback.1 point

Thanks for that vote but in this early stage of my investing career, I only buy sets that interest me. The MV does not interest me in the slightest! Maybe at some point I will be able to look past the fact that some sets do not appeal to me and see their investment potential. Buy what you love and you can't go wrong. You might not make any money, but at least you can build it. ;-)1 point
