So I have been looking for a list of stores that sell LEGO sets. Is there a comprehensive list available? ** = They ship internationally XX = They DO NOT ship internationally ? = don't know if they ship internationally % = Only some sets 1. Lego.com - ** 2. Amazon.com - % 3 Target.com - XX 4. TRU.com - % 5 Shopko.com - ? 6. Sears.com - ? 7. Walmart.com - XX 8 Entertainmentearth.com - ** 9. westendtoys.com - ** 10. kmart.com - XX 11. Ebay.com (Other auction websites.) - % 12. Brickset.com - ? 13. toywiz.com - ? 14. bigbadtoystore.com - ? 15. meijer.com - ? 16. barnesandnoble.com - ** 17. bookamillion.com - ? 18. samsclub.com - ? 19. thinkgeek.com - ** 20. yoyo.com - ? 21. bricksandminifigs.com - ? 22. toysperiod.com - ? 23. chowrentoys.com - ? 24. theplasticbrick.com - ? 25 brickenvy.com - ? 26 firestartoys.com - ** 27. kiddiwinks.com - ? 28. brickarms.com - Custom Lego pieces - weapons etc - ? 29. brickmania.com - Custom lego kits - ? 30. brianstoys.com - ? 31. spareblocks.com - ? EDITS ADDITIONS: 32. Craigslist.com (Other trading websites.) - XX 33. listia.com - XX 34. Bricklink.com - **(depending on seller) 35. Brickforge.com - ** Ok so I know this isn't all of them. Which ones did I miss? (If I missed your store, it's your fault. Your marketing is terrible. I shop for Lego sets all the time, how have you stayed hidden?) I only went about ten pages deep on Google. 90% of these I have heard of before but I have not purchased from all of them. I figured this was a good start to the list. I will continue to add the suggestions people make to the list so you don't have to scroll through a ton of pages to get all the stores.* There are probably a million little sites that sell a few sets...lets try and keep it to those who have a regular, steady inventory. PS You're welcome. Unless someone has already done this type of thread...then I'm sorry. *Contingent upon me not getting lazy. Edit: I started a key for those that ship internationally. As pickers figure out who ships where, post it here.1 point

No idea. When I read the thread at first I thought you were saying "I have 2000 transformers, help me identify them". lol.1 point

Lucky british... they have "limit 5" and it is still available for shipping, although on Feb 13. Maybe I should try to ship to one of our offices in UK... Also available in Germany. Not in Canada though..1 point

First set that got me back into it after a few years hiatus was the Millennium Falcon 7965 Saw it on Thinkgeek.com of all sites while browsing some Star Wars merch and just had to have it (really shows the power this set has). This re-sparked my interest and i dug out all my older sets and started displaying them and purchasing some more sets. First investment was probably the Black Pearl 4184 (by accident). I had purchased 2 on clearance (one for myself and one for an x-mas gift), but i ended up not giving it away and it sat in my closet for a while. Couple years later i was moving and wanted to get rid of it, so i figured i'd try to cover my losses and sell it on ebay.... well i more than covered my cost selling it there haha, and it opened my eyes to investing!1 point

Walmart stores are strict and can't use it online. When in stores, you need to fill out paperwork every-time. TRU follows the same model. Target.com, Yoyo, and Amazon have own online app process. Depending in website, you either email or upload the resale license. Stores and websites uses different policies (target.com and target stores operate like diff companies all together for this). Note for all trying to do this. Don't just do this because you think it is a way to save money or not pay tax. Don't mess with the IRS and state governments. They will audit and prosecute you if they want. You must pay taxes quarterly. Keep records. Charge sales tax when buyers live in your state. Additionally, some posts in this thread is scaring me due to terminology. There is in such thing as a "sales tax exemption cert". How can people try to do this without even knowing the process? Personally, I'm a licensed reseller in PA. I REGISTERED my business with the Federal, City, and State Governments. I have Account ID, resale IDs, and all the accompanying paperwork. I also usually have 2 groups of items when checking out in stores. Personal use and work-related. People actually watch and if they don't , the IRS, city or state gov will by looking at your receipts if you are audited. Businesses also expect a certain amount of revenue from you if you are a licensed reseller of goods. Due to my buying volume at Target.com, that is why I get some perks that others do not. Like a $44 gift card since they screwed up a $200 order of Batwings and Superman - Lex sets. Who else gives back an estimated 22% for a UPS shipping delay. Finally, I just hope people I are trying this know what they are doing, remember, taxes are among the most common legal areas where people get prison time or heavy fines with interest. .1 point

New 10219 Maersk train. Been wanting one for a while. I'll prob hold onto it since it is sealed though. Too bad I couldn't find a super deal on a used one. For my son... Open box 10198 (sealed white boxes) at a local Target that was 30% off. Wrote about it another thread. 6248 Pirates volcano island. No box 4181 POTC Isla De la Murata with box. This will go nicely with his two displayed POTC ships.1 point

The rules for sales tax permits vary state to state, so check with your state and/or accountant. In general, yes, you are responsible for collecting the appropriate sales tax from your in-state customers and remitting it (generally monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on your state and sales volume) to your sales tax authority, along with a report. Most retailers will cooperate with permit holders - if you do Google searches for Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc. and "resellers permit" or similar, you'll generally find the page with the company's specific policy on how to use the permit when purchasing with them. Additionally, at least some states (California, for example, from my own experience) will allow you to claim overpayments of sales tax on your returns -- so when I pay Lego.com or Lego Store sales tax, I then take those sales tax payments on my returns and it offsets some of the tax I owe each reporting period.1 point

That is why investors pick sets that are 99% guaranteed to make them a profit. Trying to find those sets that grow 100% out of nowhere is a waste of time IMO.1 point

Either way the customer should always end up paying shipping charges, even if they think it really is "free". I will continue to offer free shipping while adjusting the total price by whatever the fee increase on a particular service.1 point

Keep the ones you have. Come up with $30 to buy another. You will thank me later. Catalog1 point

I'm wondering why anyone would flip this set for double the money. LEGO already stated this would be a "limited" set. Why settle for making less than $30 on this set? This set will easily hit the $100 mark after EOL and that will be sooner than later. This set is a keeper, not a flipper.1 point

That is funny Ed, the 10030 is what brought me back in 2010. I had seen it in stores at retail and thought it would be fun to build it. A few years later I was thinking about it again and saw the price of it - about $800 new at the time. My jaw dropped. It was that point that got me researching. I now collect for fun and invest for profit. Needless to say, I bought the 10030 - just a used one so I could build it. I made $250 when I sold it a couple years later too.1 point

" AFOL Movement" 20+ year olds buying toys for themselves is still a very small percent of the general public1 point

That's a good question. The set has been out for the whole of 2013 and was discounted somewhat for a while so I do not imagine it hanging around much longer especially with all the new Marvel offerings coming out. Since my Walmart hasn't really restocked and Target seems to be 'winging' it, trying to form a better guess is tricky. However, I can see it linger around online for another year before being officially retired.1 point

For very rare sets (Taj Mahal, Market Street), a listing with the box can bring in a little more, but for the vast majority of sets (including in QAR in my opinion), you aren't leaving any money on the table without a box. If it's missing instructions or minifigs, that would significantly decrease the price you can get for the set used.1 point
