I'm happy to announce I have joined the 1000+ LEGO sets club today (1005 to be exact). Not sure if there is such a thing but if there is I am now a part of it.
The only way this movie bombs is if the critics go in and screw it all up with their usual form of expecting the film to be anything than what it is supposed to be; a fun family film that is just as quirky as the sets based from it. I can scarcely somewhat see the similarity to Time Cruisers but come on, the designs here aren't anywhere near that bad. At least this time whoever was 'getting high' when designing The Lego Movie sets reached the 'right' level of....highness.
Of course not every single set from The Lego Movie can fully appreciate but at the very least their parts and unique minifigures can. Aside from Emmet and Wyldstyle, there is a whole slew of special characters just as unique as any from the Collectable Minifigures line as a whole. I will say closest to a sure thing would be Benny's Spaceship as there is way too many fans of Classic Space to simply ignore that one.
Anyway, I have been picking up these sets starting with the smallest. I figure the smaller offerings will get sold out easily soon as the movie premieres in a couple weeks and I do not want to go through a repeat of first wave Ninjago by missing out on a few sets.
Unrelated, we have watched the trailers probably 100 times, and I'd like to thank Batman for the line "we're here to see.....your butt." Big hit with the 5 year old demo.

Gameplay and Rules
Does kind of seem like a waste IMHO. You have to sell for at least $55 to break even (assuming ebay) and I just don`t think you could get much more then that, if that, right now. I`d say buy something else, you`re smart, you know what to look for
I'm wondering why anyone would flip this set for double the money. LEGO already stated this would be a "limited" set. Why settle for making less than $30 on this set? This set will easily hit the $100 mark after EOL and that will be sooner than later. This set is a keeper, not a flipper.
I think the lego movie sets are a good reminder to lego fans to simply play with their lego sets in the most creative, haphazard and fun way like what most kids would do. I would not bother to invest in these movie sets as my kids can do just as well when they mix and match all the lego pieces they can lay their hands on.
Don't care about the prizes. Doing this for the collective desires of the forum for this thing to retire and the good karma it will bring me if I'm right. (which is highly unlikely, but hey) Go big or go home boys and girls!
2x 10188 Death Star @ 433.35ea = 866.70
1x 10226 Sopwith Camel @113.44
1x 6858 Catwoman Catcycle Chase @19.36
= $999.50
Just wait until the movie comes out to gauge interest. The big sets are not even out yet and the smaller ones are available everywhere with a few exceptions
