  2. I never feel more like a man than when I check out with a cart full of dolls. Also, who cares if the lowly cashier is hot? Would she be wanting to bone you in the back room if you were buying dumbbells, protein powder, and power tools instead of toys?

  3. I did for a while. now I just make sure I don't check out with some super hot model girl. Usually that isn't a problem at Walmart.

  5. "I'm making a life-size statue of the Bieb" usually shuts them up. This week, you can alter that to "I'm making a life-size statue of the Bieb, Miami-mug-shot version!" (Seriously, though, no. If I were buying a shopping cart full of porn or bottles of vodka and breath mints, I might feel a little creepy.)

  6. All collectibles have a sort of industry standard. In Lego, generally if the parts (except minifigs) have never been assembled and are in new condition, most buyers and sellers on eBay, Bricklink, etc. consider the parts new. Minifigs assembled and promptly bagged/stored, ditto. Because Lego parts being sold from kits, etc. must be handled for sorting, photos, shipping, mere handling of new parts only for the purpose of selling them does not make them used.

  7. lego, no. A shopping cart full of monster cereal..maybe a little. When I was buying the monster cereal the cashier asked me what I was going to do with all the cereal. I replied, "everyone loves monster cereal". Looking back my response may have been a little creepier than my actual purchase..

  8. Just wait until your wife asks you to go to the store to buy a box of tampax. Buying lego is a walk in the park after that brutal experience.

  11. I'm happy to announce I have joined the 1000+ LEGO sets club today (1005 to be exact). Not sure if there is such a thing but if there is I am now a part of it.

  12. I will confess that I count polybags and Collectable Minifigures as 'sets'. I mean, why not? :pardon:

  13. Finished it last niht in-between shoveling snow, work, and family stuff. It was an interesting build with how the bottom base curves inward. There were ample steps where 1x3 tiles fit on 2 stud elements (same with 2x1 fitting on a single stud) without much support until all 4 sides are connected together just below the level with the 2x2 grayish window elements. I added minifigs in the picture for visual size purposes. In summary, I'm glad to have build it. Is it my favorite build? Nope. I enjoyed the 10220 VW T1 van and 10144 Sandcrawler more. Unexpectedly, I developed pain in my right hand (last 3 fingers). Not sure if it is related to building 5 sets in 2.5 weeks (almost 6,000 elements), my job using a computer, shoveling snow this week, or a combination. Jeez, I'm not even 40 years old yet. Will get it checked.

  14. The information that I received said they were giving away some movie tickets, but never any mention of Lego freebies. I'm still taking my boys because they are so freakin' excited about the movie, they can't stand it.

  15. Not sure if this is happening to anyone else or specific to my account but I am unable to enter Princess themed sets in to my brickfolio. I added Cinderella's Castle 41055 several times but it never shows up in my brickfolio.

  19. Buyer Lego has come easy but deciding when to sell has been difficult. Could you possibly incorporate a function in the brickfolio that can tell you how long a set has lingered at the same value for to make it easier to decide to sell or Not? For example if a set over the last x amount of months averaged a 0% increase then your brickfolio could tell you? I know you can just click on each and see the price Guide but for some who have a very large range of sets this could become confusing and time consuming. Thoughts?

  20. I have hopes they restock over the weekend as shelves are bare for most sections. The very large boxes are generally the only ones to flip and it is rare we see a 33.3% discount on lego. Keep a lookout for Lone Ranger as they have 50% off some sets and the BOGO stacks with them too. Ie LR train for 70 and then add BOGO

  23. I just haven't listed any of them yet. I want them to reach a point to where I can make a decent profit after fees. My oldest set is 10198 Tantive IV and I plan on selling later as the profit is not worth it right now(after fees). My lego investing collection is pretty small so far about 10 sets. (im a newbie)

  25. I think most people are cotinuously buying and selling so it's hard to say if when you break even. I just know that for each lego set or minfig I have sold, there has been a gain. the amount profit is what I keep track of in my spreadsheets.

  30. lol Sadly those are Hobbit sets.... Must say I am yet to see a great Hobbit set if we exclude Bag End.... We shall see what the 130$ flag ship of Hobbit brings now that LOTR is over as it looks... Might be worth to Stock Orthanc...

  31. What's the general feel here on Olivia house at $60 to hold on to for next christmas? Is it worth the risk or not? It's 20% off RRP on Amazon. Should I wait for steeper discount or would they go over RRP next holiday season?

  32. In the not so distant future, TLG will only produce white bricks to avoid alienating color blind consumers (Architecture Studio was a trial run). Also, they will stop producing "male" and "female" connectors, as they are clearly sexist pieces.
