It's not on the wholesale list so it must be retiring soon. I thought it was a prerequisite that this statement was in every thread questioning if an exclusive was going away. Just doing my part.2 points

....Weird. MARS ATTACKS!! Same here. Admitedly, this is only two of the new lineup but so far I still am more inclined to the first wave sets by comparison. The T-Rawket Sky Strike might be good if they gave Mikey a more 'serious' face. It would make a good replacement for either of his goofy ones from the first time around.2 points

From The Brick Fan Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit Smaug will be a similar size to the dragon in the Dragon Mountain (70403) set. The Witch King will also make an appearance and will glow in the dark. Elrond makes a return and looks similar to the polybag version from the LOTR game pre-order bonus.2 points

Kinex isn't all that bad but they don't really make places - just mostly figures. Their roller coasters are pretty nice though.1 point

This isn't even fully built yet and it's leaning at an angle, not standing up straight.1 point

You're right that both should be given the benefit of the doubt.. and given the listing, it wasn't a great listing. Stock photos are always dangerous. In fact, I'll bet a Bart minifigure you would have lost your case if you charged an extra $12 for the box. It's not stated anywhere in the listing that no box is included and the first picture is of the box. I would have assumed it came with the box. As a side note, I didn't even see those black Xs in the second picture but it is clearly stated no minifigs. The buyer is clearly being an @** though considering the language of "ripping off." More polite language should always be used by buyers.1 point

The buyer wanted to cancel maybe because he finally realized he could get it from Lego shop for a better price?1 point

Had a nice Sunday on Bricklink. A buyer from France helped me unload some of my inventory. 1 Toy Story Woody's Round-up (new) 1 10198 Tantive IV (open box. Only built once by me) 1 10144 Sandcrawler (no box) 1 Toy Story Buzz's Spaceship (new) 2 minifigs. Also sold a 6211 (no box) sold last Thursday. (Only need to unload 1 more of these, a sealed one). I was so happy with these sales that I did the Hulk Smash dance with my son's toy.1 point

May 30, 2013 will go down as a date to remember... U still get giddy about that sale. Checkout the thread. There was a lot of Lego man-love that day. Haunted House $134.01 Arkham $119.68 Horizon Express $101.04 Sopwith Camel $88.20 VW t1 Camper $107.37 Note: a number of us also received 10%-20% discounts on top of that due to shipping issues.1 point

Yup.... Good times. These kind of promotions are the only "discounts" you will get on the HH.. You can keep your eye on Amazon WH, if you don't care too much about the box and want to build one. ( although there is a long list of members itching for that one.)1 point

Good to see a first time poster Thanks. Entry Confirmed. Total Investment = $978.64 Good Luck!1 point

This set is the kind of thing I would overpay for on eBay for collectible nostalgic purposes, and then six months later it would be sitting in my closet collecting dust, and I would be scratching my head wondering why the heck I bought it. Lol. Am I right?1 point

Toys-R-Us did a online price match on my phone....... Walmart down the street had the Batcave's for $49......and it showed on my Walmart app......I showed it to them and they did a price match...... TRU wanted $89.99 for the Batcave and I got it for the Walmart price of $49.....4 of them.....1 point

Disappointing news about Smaug from The Brick Fan: Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit Smaug will be a similar size to the dragon in the Dragon Mountain (70403) set. The Witch King will also make an appearance and will glow in the dark. Elrond makes a return and looks similar to the polybag version from the LOTR game pre-order bonus.1 point

Thanks guys for the help i was able to get the exact count of parts in those 2 ripped poly bags from bricklink .My set is complete.1 point

Hey fellow brick maniacs TRU has a deal right now that if you spend over 75$ you get 20$ off your order plus free shipping over 49$. Considering if I placed separate orders, I could get this off each set I buy. I was thinking of bundling these as a "Mine" package. With Gold Mining shows on TV becoming so popular, I would think this would be a very cool package or at least valuable as far as the popularity of the mining shows. I would like to know if a few sets are worth buying? The Mine # 4204. 109$ 89$ from 109$ Mines of Minora #9473 79$ from 99$ Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout #79110. 79$ from 99$ I know the others will fair well down the road, but #79110 seems risky since the Lone Ranger sets didn't do too well. Brickpicker has these sets on a descent but it hasn't been updated since Nov last year. Thoughts? Thx!1 point

Just inventory the loose pieces using bricklink. Since any specific piece is usually only in 1 poly bag, your totals should match. Sometimes there are 2 duplicate bags - if that is the case, your 1 bag should be half the total.1 point

I thought this thread was going to be about brick worship, and expected to find the Church of LEGO already splitting between investors and flippers!1 point

Lego's selection of themes and sets is the same thing as with any other form in our culture. If you don't like one thing then don't buy/watch/read/drink/eat/drive it and move on. It really is just as simple as that but of course people enjoy the pastime of complaining to ever let something sit still or slip by. Honestly, some of these conversations sound like this guy. Anyway, Lego did take their sweet time designing the Friends theme by talking with an unknown number of mothers and daughters so they did not just pull some numbers out from 'where the sun don't shine' for statistics and ideas to consider. While I personally may not care for the minidolls as I would a minifigure, I understand I am far from the intended audience and can see their delightful charm. Besides they have sort of grown on me after a while now to where I can actually use the word "cute". This is why I get tired of reading distasteful comments towards the Friends line. The responses sound as though these persons think Lego is strictly saying that girls should only play with Friends sets when the truth is Lego is simply offering the theme as a choice. An alternative from the battlescapes of Star Wars, Chima, Castle, Lord of the Rings, Ninjago, etcetera, and then there is the busy rustle of City. For myself, I find the Friends sets to give off a more relaxed sense of feeling compared to everything else with the exception of Creator. I may be a man but I love these builds because of their cuteness and choice of colors. To heck with the occasional weird glances at the checkout as I stand there with a Sunshine Ranch, Heartlake Cafe, and Mia's Lemonade Stand. I shall continue on purchasing every single one of these to build to my heart's content.1 point

That is funny Ed, the 10030 is what brought me back in 2010. I had seen it in stores at retail and thought it would be fun to build it. A few years later I was thinking about it again and saw the price of it - about $800 new at the time. My jaw dropped. It was that point that got me researching. I now collect for fun and invest for profit. Needless to say, I bought the 10030 - just a used one so I could build it. I made $250 when I sold it a couple years later too.1 point

By the way, you think that the top is tough - wait until you do the bottom. After the 4 legs of the tower are joined together, it starts to get better.1 point

To answer your original question, I wouldn't have a problem returning the damaged box to the store, with the higher price receipt. First, you expect to receive the product in an acceptable manner. Second, TRU will PM their own web site.1 point

I suppose it will do okay but I don't see anything spectacular especially with next year's bulkier Mountain Hut around the corner.1 point
