Walking in yesterday to local toy store and saw a working pushing a cart with some lego signage on it as if it was garbage. I assume workers get most displays , signage, etc. when we left I drove around the store and they had on the side a long dumpster with some shells next to it. Parked and jumped out and looked and saw the Star Wars jabbas palace set. I knew these are glued but grabbed it. I then looked and saw the lego city mine set as well. Grabbed some angry bird knex, mario knex displays as well3 points

Hi, my name is Anakin and I'm a brickaholic. I have been a brickaholic for many years now. I have tried and tried to stop visiting this site but keep getting pulled back in. I always tell myself, just one more brick. This will be my last brick. But then I brick again. Then I am back on a posting binge. It's a vicious circle I just cant break. I need help.2 points

I would think that if anything, the Princess line will bring in more girls who will then want more sets than just the handful of Disney sets available, thus creating even more interest in the Friends theme.2 points

I don't think $300 is at all unreasonable for this set. I know a lot of the big timers here would agree with me.1 point

Hey hey! Where have I been? Xbox One, that's where. Anyway I'm still here after a year of posting nonsense and occasionally fiddling with reselling. I actually hit 100 sales last week, right around my one year anniversary here I think. I probably wouldn't have achieved that without the advice and support I found on this site. Looking forward to another great BP year!1 point

You need to get your facts straight. Retired sets specifically mean they are marked as "Retired Product" on LEGO Shop at Home site. Meaning LEGO stops the production, BUT it does NOT mean the stocks at retailers have been depleted. Technically, LEGO can stop the production right after sending multiple pallets to TRU, Walmart, etc. In this scenario, the set will be marked "Retired" at LEGO but Walmart will still have tons of copies on the shelves.1 point

Calm down, it's pretty common for sets to hit retired on S@H while they are still available at other retailers and even LEGO Stores. They don't call every store in the world to check current inventory. When S@H runs out and goes to retired product, the set can be considered retired since it is no longer being produced and whatever is left in the wild is about all that's left.1 point

Every time eBay creates another stranglehold rule for sellers, look at that listing, imagine millions more just like it, and you'll understand.1 point

Sorry, I didn't see yours. Hopefully someone will have some more info. I signed up my kids at the store that had a 50 limit thinking it might be less chaotic and they might not run out of stuff.1 point

Was disappointing not to find any LOTR polybags at the Target I hit up on Thursday while out of town. Checked several spots but no dice. Did get 43 Christmas Trains though1 point

1- Banks were "greedy" by making subprime loans that they "knew" borrowers could not pay 2- Borrowers were just as greedy for getting a loan they knew full well they could not pay 3- Government was stupid (no surprise there) by highly encouraging ("forcing") banks to lend to unqualified borrowers in the hopes of making "homes affordable for everyone!" There were no innocent parties in the crisis, it's just easier to blame the ones at the top. Just as bad as O...1 point

Ed Mack provided a link to this seller in the Jek-14 Display Case thread, but I wanted to post these in the Lego Displays forum. I guess lucky for me, the seller was in Ohio and they're going to let me pick up the displays I purchased. Here are the two I won earlier in the week and I'm picking them up tomorrow. http://www.ebay.com/itm/360785095135?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/111208742916?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I'm sure they'll end up in my son's room some way some how.1 point

I recently met a guy at his house. We had been corresponding via texts for almost a week, but I was still nervous because I had $1200 in my car. But it was totally cool, the guy was a bigger collector than I am and we talked about toys for an hour. His wife even invited me to stay for dinner but I politely declined because my wife said I couldn't play anymore because it was dark outside.1 point
