  3. Take it back or keep the cool parts. You've probably already burnt the $10 you spent in stress and thinking about it too much.

  4. I actually loved this movie as well. Perhaps if you step away from thinking about the sets as "lone ranger" investments, and instead think of them as "western" investments you may be able to justify it more. I have no problem buying these sets at discounts. They will do great in the future!

  7. Haha, That definitely sums it up. At least you knew that I was being sarcastic about my 3% off on the Batcaves.

  9. When investing in lego friends, always consult the young girls first. If you don't have a daughter or niece, try asking the little girls in the shopping mall ... Though there is risk that you will be treated as a creep.

  10. I was just thinking that the whole set looked a little too rabotic. And the characters just look kind of fuzzy. I was never sure this set had the right pieces fur a good investment. It just really needs to go and hit the road-ent. RABBIT!

  11. Indeed. The Jack Stone figures were kind of nice but limited in every department (poseability, customization, etcetera) and look at how many new molds needed to be created for them all. The builds were so 'junior'ed, you were bored just looking at them. I remember my father back in the day buying one (Fire Cruiser) on clearance for me (some reason). That was the first set I ever kept MISB simply because I couldn't think of a use for any of it. I did finally open it (a few years ago); still haven't found a use for it whatsoever.

  13. For the most part this is true, however Grand Torino was pretty incredible if you haven't seen it. The movie is really good and a really different side of Clint Eastwood. Hes awesome in it and the story is really awesome as well.

  15. I guess I am blessed with my local post office. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable (most of the time), and every package gets an acceptance scan.

  16. This sucks, I'd rather have X-Men than the Avengers. I guess they don't really have anything to tie in with. The Avengers with the Avengers movies and Spiderman with the Ultimate Spideman cartoon. I think X-Men movie license is tied to Fox, so we won't see anything tied to the movie.

  17. I'm not sure we will see many X-men releases honestly. Maybe two or three more sets spread in there over the next couple years...

  18. The real question is where are the larger sets for Super heroes period? All we have is the Batcave (Medium), Quinjet (Medium) and the Asylum. I want to see more large play sets. Imagine a Gotham city or Shield HQ?

  19. Rubbish. Businesses use debt all the time to fund their operation. It's called leverage. Not many businesses have a 0% debt to equity ratio, and if they do their owners are often not using their position to leverage for expansion properly. I run my Lego operation like a business. Some of it is funded through debt. As long as returns outstrip the cost of that debt then there is no problem doing so.

  20. Friends sets are adorable and they're partly responsible for me getting back into Legos. When I saw the theme at first, I thought they were cute, but thought it didn't really fit in with regular Legos. Around the same time, a friend at work built his own modular house and I'm like, that's so cool, Legos are awesome. I grew up with Legos and matchbox cars and became an engineer. So looking online, I bought some regular sets for myself. Then I got the Friends Horse Stable for Christmas. Haha! I wasn't sure about it, but opened it and built it and the thing is soooo cute. For some reason, I thought the minifigs of Friends were a lot larger than the traditional minifigs, but that's not true. They coincide just fine. Different, yes, but can still work together. What's more, I adore the unique colors and shapes and such available in the Friends sets. When I think of things I'd like to build, I really like the opportunity to use brighter colors along with the traditional colors. I'm a horse person, as many girls are, and the horses are probably the best ones Lego has designed so far. What's interesting is the many different versions of horses over time. These things are a hit with girls, but some of the price points might be an issue for parents buying for kids, if they're being marked up in the future. For investment, it would have to be well-to-do persons buying for kids, or other adults. Not sure how that's going to play out in the future but if anyone is looking for the parts, there is that too. I'm buying to collect for myself with an extra set here or there, just in case.
