I wouldn't worry about it over $7. I'd replace what needs to be replaced and leave them a negative. I've only left one or two negatives in nearly ten years of ebay, but they sound like they deserve it.2 points

So your profit like 10 bucks...or 5.00???...cause shipping for this 4lbs set near $12-14 ...i think too many random sellers ruin the lego market...dumping great sets foR quick flip and make no money at all. Just do the math next time before list lego on ebay... I got 35 of them...i waited price to raise to 90tsh level...sold 15...now selling for 119.50 rest of stock...getting more and hopeing for price to hit 140. This is i call wise investing.2 points

My wife would hate this, because I'd buy everything. I would absolutely love this. I'd love to have a Tardis and a couple of Doctors walking around my winter village.1 point

The way I figure it is this: even if I'm only making $20 per DC (after all fees), this set will be available much longer through 2014...why not capitalize on a hot item now for christmas...make 30-50% margin and I can always stock back up on DC's again later for the long term?1 point

My favorite part is where they trot out every excuse under the sun - they only missed that their dog got hold of their account information and must have changed the description.1 point

I did some searching and it looks like I have the right pieces. The hard part is finding out if I have enough of those pieces.1 point

LOL you're so much more awesome than I am! We all know what we want out of this. Personally I'm happy with a 15-20% ROI in 60 days (made $23 between the 2 of them with $110 investment). Trolls is as trolls does, but I don't feed them (nor do I get my rocks off making fun of others' investment strategies). Have a nice day!1 point

He already mentioned in 5 different threads that he gets a deal through his work. Doesn't pertain to 100% of us. Like when one person on here posts his target employee discount in his calculations--nothing germane to our conversation.1 point

I would like to thank Lego US marketing for putting on these Lego Friends commercials on cartoon network. One of my buddy's little girl call them "pink Lego." It's like selling crack to nuns and water to flounder.1 point

CB, are you looking just at eBay's Sold listings on their site, or using Terapeak? If the former, it'll be even higher than those numbers. When a seller has multi-quantity in a listing (say, a listing for Dolphin Cruisers and they enter 4 as the quantity), that listing won't show up in the "sold" items until the last one sells from the listing; so, numbers 1, 2, and 3 don't show up at all (on a simple eBay sold search). And if Amazon has been in and out of stock on this, some of their resellers will have made sales, too.1 point

Thanks everyone for the advice. I cannot recall ever leaving a negative feedback but I think this warrants one. The items were definitely not damaged during shipping. He wrapped them in bubble rap. The cape was definitely ripped before it was sent. He just didn't look over the figure. I didn't appreciate the **** on them either. Really no point on sending them back. I will just go ahead and leave negative feedback. Take 5 minutes to look at your products before you sell them1 point
-
This was my very first thought.. if the seller is essentially avoiding admitting they sold a damaged product to you over $7, leave them negative feedback. "Damage on items not described in listing. Seller unwilling to accommodate." 1 star all the way down for feedback ratings. Especially if the damage happened during shipping. Who can't ship two minifigs without them getting damaged?1 point
-
Your call. I would open a case and eat the return shipping cost (don't forget tracking), but if you don't want to do that, yes at the very least leave the negative. And if genius leaves you a negative sounding positive in retaliation, report him and eBay will remove it and sanction him.1 point

I lucked out on this one last summer and got 31 of them for $20.50 each during an insane shopko clearance. My son has one and loves it. The batmobile is a very solid build and looks great. I plan on holding them until next Christmas at the earliest.1 point

There were several versions of TIE fighter, but I think the general consensus is that 9492 is the best of the lot by a big margin.1 point

My local walmart had them on sale for 35 each! And they weren't even marked as for sale, so I scanned their prices on the machine and that way I found out the price. Some good deals hidden in plain sight. ps: If you have an android phone download the walmart app- it lets you check the prices(which vary) of available legos at your local walmart!1 point

I have 1 and panicked and bought 2 more at retail yesterday......its skyrocketing this set!!! i will try to find more....1 point

They're so darn cute! If they had little cheeks I would pinch them! But seriously... I think these will have a certain level of appeal. Anything that is done on an extreme scale, big or small, typically has a following. I think these are a neat change of pace.1 point

I have always given any cashier the coupons I'm using after everything has been rung up. Nothing particularly sneaky about it and they have to wait until the end to scan them in the system anyway. Two of the three times where I did a price match then coupons worked as it should. (By that I mean I got the price match reduction then the coupon discount tacted on afterwards.)1 point

Rather spot on, and looks like you use some of the same storage drawers I do. Now you only need to achieve the 'floating' effect from the poster.1 point

Last sold on ebay was at $177 so i believe there is hope. lego interest is rising in asia which means there is another 3+ billion people being interested in this toy. How many of them are going to want to purchase older sets (2008-2012) that are out of production. if you are serious about making money on these sets that you see as high risk expand your audience and ship to asia. I just sold a complete 10179 with no box or sticker info for $2200. best of all they paid shipping.1 point

The minifigs are the difference.... but also Lego released the polybag with the Iron Man figure in it. That, plus the release of the small Iron Man 3 set means you can score an Iron Man figure in a variety of ways.1 point

And, do not mention feedback at all while you are negotiating for a partial or full refund (including your return shipping cost) with the seller. If you say anything at all along the lines of "Give me money or I'm going to leave you bad feedback", you're guilty of feedback extortion, so don't go there. With a new seller I'd be patient, but firm. The best way for them to learn is to have it hit them in the pocketbook a time or three, then they'll start paying more attention and be better sellers.1 point
-
Ask for partial refund that covers the replacement cost. Ask for that first, then see what happens before making a decision.1 point

You have to know whether or not you have the right pieces too. Anyways, I think the hardest part of building that is 1. The supports, and 2. The texture of the word LEGO. I see you included quite a bit of texture with different pieces to get the right touch, and I think the OP did a fantastic job.1 point

My prediction is this one is retiring June 9th this year. Then we get a break for 2 weeks, and then the friends version comes out--with pastels and a full size UCS Leia.1 point

I am working on getting the full 2014 list, if I get it I will list whats retiring.1 point
