I think the more important and urgent question is - if they're already out of stock, when are they going to EOL??????2 points

Not sure if this is allowed here, but I entered a video to win a trip to the Sochi Olympics and was wondering if I could get you guys to vote for my video? Trying to get as many votes as possible until deadline. Just click on "Vote for This" underneath the video on the left. You can vote daily until November 27th. Thanks, I appreciate it! https://www.youtube.com/samsungcanada?x=ca-en_youtuberesponsive_92_1 point

If I could order from the states, it`s very likely that I would order some for me right now. I don`t like the sets very much (other than Mirkwood Army, which has grown on me), but I try my best to be a completest for this theme. Who knows, might crack the boxes and change my mind once they are built, but for now, not really into them. Back to your question, I would not buy to invest right now. Plenty of time for that next year (likely the year after) and better deals to be had. Depends entirely on what you`de like to do.1 point

Are you saying that all the Kmarts have gone... COLD?!?!?! I win this thread.1 point

Funny, 13 replies in and nobody even mentioned Galaxy Squad. It's like nobody even acknowledges GS as a theme on these boards.1 point

Pretty sure the after Christmas clearance has been going on the last few weeks.1 point

Well I guess if the market (i.e. people who will buy the set on eBay for inflated prices when they can't find it in stores, or people who just buy online all the time and assume they are getting the best price when they shop at Amazon or eBay, etc.) someday figures out that sets will unretire, and all the above-mentioned people become super-patient and frugal and join BrickPicker so they know what a set is really worth and join up with camelcamelcamel and Brickset so they make sure they always get the best deal - wait, where was I going with this? Oh, right. I quick-flipped 20+ Catcycles on eBay and Amazon in a 3-week period from the end of October to mid-November and made an average 20% *net profit* on them. I don't care if it's unretired and I don't care if Lego tries playing games to screw investors, there's plenty of money to be made in arbitrage as one of our sages has pointed out in a blogpost. Keep calm and Lego on, people.1 point

I remember loving the DBZ games on the SNES. Watching dubbed anime / movies is a sin!1 point

Yeah, at least there's the nostalgia factor too Ten years from now: "Oh hey look it's Lego Friends! Remember those?" "Oh right! I totally forgot about those. I should go dig up my old Olivia's House set and see how much it's worth on eBay!"1 point

Yes there is. Nice mint ones from the 70s and 80s, even early 90s. So many of those catalogs have really awesome layouts with actual photography of sets making a scene like this:1 point

Yea, since these are just released, I am quite positive you'll get them at less than MSRP in the coming months.1 point

If you put 999 in for quantity it will refeesh to the amount left in stock1 point

Other than perhaps some exclusive/hard to find sets, I think it's safe to say every set will experience multiple sales before going EOL. If you want one for personal collection there's nothing wrong with paying retail/MSRP but for investing probably best to wait. MIGHT be good for a quick flip before Christmas but for longer term investing best to wait for a sale IMO.1 point

I do not think that there is a function for that at the moment, but there might be in the future. Jeff Mack is going to work on a Brickfolio update after he finished with the Brick Classifieds.1 point

For some reason, almost every time they put out new sets before the street date they sell them for actual retail price. Once the release date arrives they bump the price. It seems backwards to me as people are more likely to pay a premium when they can only get them at one place, but what do I know.1 point

I wouldn`t count on it. This is an exception to the TRU rule. It`s a great thing, yes, but I wish that I could say firmly that it will last. We`ll just have to wait and see. In the mean time, if you have coupons that work on these, use them now!1 point

I`ve always loved those little trees. No they aren`t very detailed in comparison to MOCed ones, but they`ve always held a special place in the hobby for me. Not entirely sure why though, just really like them.1 point

Quite the investment.... My wife thinks I'm crazy and I'm nowhere into it the way some of you guys are (not for lack of trying). She looked at me funny when I came home after spending $988 on legos at TRU today. I told her that it all came from the $3k Amazon paid me last week, so it's cool. She gets the flipping for profit idea, but when I spend all of the profit on more stuff to flip she gets a little agitated.1 point

just to let everyone know that Catwoman Catcycle City Chase (6858) will be back in stock by the end of November or early December 2013. *****""" Thanks for getting in touch with us. It's great to hear you're interested in 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase. The demand for this particular LEGO1 point

They did not un-retire this set. The Castle with the glow in the dark stickers was and still is very much retired. Try to find 9468 at LEGO Shop at Home in Australia, New Zealand, Hungary, Poland etc. MF is completely done, except for the Haunted House. Whatever is left in the wild is it. I suggest grabbing what you want before I do lol.1 point
