  1. I misread the title and thought it said: STD's. I've only had 4 and they were from the toilet seat.

  6. I do not think you are missing anything. During the 50% off sale, a lot the B-Wing were sold, since then it has been in and out of stock. Before, the sale happened, I thought it would be going for at least two years, not I am not so sure. it is better to have some in case it EOL soon.

  8. I would say so. Using rebrickable with multi vendor it says $200 for about 75% of the set. But looking through it, it doesn't include most of the giant plates. I would say it would have pretty good value because some of those pieces will be $10 or more.

  9. Used sets sell for between $175 and $250 depending on condition and whether the box and instructions are included. If i was in the market for a used one to flip, the price paid would need to to be no more than $130 and the instruction booklet included. Too many risks in a used one (e.g. Discolored light gray gray elements need replacing). I woukd pay $300 for a sealed one. However, compounded growth has seemed to slow down. On the positive side, there's another SW movie due in 2015. So if you can hold the set until May 2015, you might see a 50% gain with some luck. Others will tell you to invest the $300 into another set that has more growth potential. That also makes sense. I compare the 10175 to a safer / conservative stock investment : lower growth expectation with minimal risk. Same could be said about most older movie themed sets without a "true" refresh. One advice. To maximize sale potential, be sure to list it globally.

  12. $575 plus shipping. I would rate the boxes 6.5 to 7 out of 10. A few minor creases. Very hard to find excellent 7888 boxes. Odd size (too deep for a smaller # of elements). I was getting some bites at $600 last month but nothing panned out. I have an opened boxed one for my son that I paid $200 for. Stickers never applied. It is a great set (he plays with the Tumbler and it stays together). Looks-wise, It is aging very well.

  13. That could be a very well factor of the multiple waves. It all depends on how fast some shipments arrive.

  14. Has anyone considered that these waves weren't intentional, but rather an unintended consequence of extreme demand met only with typical distribution? I assume all 41999's were produced in the same factory and it seems unlikely that TLG would fly inventory internationally. So you have: manufacturing time + shipping prep time + travel to port + ship load + sailing time + ship offload + customs + travel to continental distribution center + inventory tracking + distribution planning + travel to rail yard or semi-truck loading + cross country travel + regional and local distribution + store receiving. I don't work in distribution logistics, but I've experienced first hand the time it can take to sail on a sizable ship to another continent, as well as the wrench customs can throw into a schedule. I think without the super high demand, this whole process is transparent to the customer. Of course if the 41999 is produced in multiple factories around the world in tandem then my theory is broken. If not, what do you guys think? A simple case of TLG not able to keep up?

  15. No way it's a ruse, if so they are the dumbest company ever... 1. You could just buy from anyone reseller on ebay/amazon/personal website and get the names and addresses at a fraction of the cost and effort. (I assume it takes a lot of work just to launch a set.) 2. At the prices these were going for there are a lot of COLLECTORS who sold b/c the price was just too good to pass up. 3. See point 1. 4. See point 2.

  18. Yeah i had a post laid out then deleted it. I hate to come off as the "why cant we all get along" guy, but there are serious problems in the world today that won't be solved until more people admit that morality does have a part to play in "making money."
