  4. If worse comes to worse and Lego does end up implementing a "one promo per household" rule in all cases, just be prepared to adapt and move on. If there's one thing 16 years of selling on eBay has taught me, it's how to deal with change. If they do that kind of limiting, they're basically just making those exclusives even more valuable, and at the end of the day all we as sellers end up doing is passing along our additional expense (in this case, not getting as many of the promos to resell to mitigate the cost of our other purchases) to our own customers down the line. What's annoying, and I'm as tetchy about it as anyone, is to be in this current state of flux where they seem to be trying to play the "oh, our crystal ball says you're a leper - I mean reseller!, GOTCHA!" game or they're just incompetent at implementing and standardizing a new policy, or both. Presumably they will get that ironed out and start applying the same algorithm to everyone and we'll all at least know or be able to make better guesses at what the "real limits" are, and from there we decide what to buy, when to buy, how to buy, how many hoops we want to jump through to game the system, and how much we have to increase our prices to cover our cost of goods sold.

  6. Your are correct. Here is a link. He is from Series 7 and he is missing a helmet and shield and he has the wrong sword too.

  7. My theory is that he is stockpiling the Crawlers until they are in a lot of demand, and he has a lot of them to control the price of the Crawlers. This system sometimes works, but you have to spend a lot of money to achieve the goal, but the rewards are amazing.

  8. So I cant help but wonder why Mark is stockpiling so many crawlers. Here's a few ideas floating around in my head: 6. After a lifetime of searching, hes finally found a way to get into the Guiness Book of World Records. 5. He's looking for the crawler with license plate number 763, because thats his favorite number. 4. He was the runner up in the contest to create the limited edition model, and he just hasn't gotten over the loss. He wants to wipe them off the face of the earth. 3. He has a terrible case of OCD. 2. He has a diabolical plan to take over the world and the crawlers (after some modification) will be his army. 1. He's really Santa Clause and hes gathering crawlers to give out to all the good kids on Christmas. (The not so good kids get mega blox) Or, I guess its could just be a plain old investment strategy. But wouldnt it be cool if he really was Santa????

  9. Personally, I don't really care for what that guy does or does not do with his money. If he buys a Crawler from me and pays, then that's all I need to know. Whether he has a Ferrari, 500 41999s, is homeless, etc, etc. is completely irrelevant to me. I am neither cheering for the guy nor jealous of what he has, I quite honestly just don't care. I was going to go to my local TRU and LEGO store just to see if they had any in stock, but I am just so tired of this set that I could not even do that lol

  11. I forgot to mention that most of the minifigures have the head and/or bodies mixed up. What I do is take apart each minifigure, using the pictures from the links, and try to put the minifigures back together. This works most of the time with me, but you may end up missing a minifigure piece are two.

  12. There are a lot of the same minifigures, but here is what I see. Bandit 1 Link Cavalry Colonel Link X5 Cavalry Soldier with Bandana Link X3 Cavalry Lieutenant with Bandana Link X3 Those are all the Western Minifigures in this lot. There are also some other minifigures from other themes. Pirates: Pirate Brown Shirt, Black Legs, Black Pirate Link X2 Unfortunately, this is all I could find in the minifigures. There are some that appear to be from the City/Town theme, but I could not find the exact minifigures. And there are about a couple others that are too hard to identify because of the different legs, torso, and head. Hope this is a start for you in your quest to identify minifigures.

  13. There is an awful lot of jealousy on this site. It's crazy. I could care less how much money he has or what he drives. What I care about is that he seems like a reputable guy who pays for what he buys. How about we focus on that? He is a really good buyer who hopefully won't see any of these silly posts or he will likely think we are all 12 year olds.

  14. Those are not worth too much... The most expensive figures are those http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=ww006 Must have white bandana... There are 13 Western army torsos... and not mostly cowboy hats and officer hats... So i would evaluate that on around 1.25 per figure if you still want to resell and make anything out of it.... 20$ should be okish deal.. 15$ for potentially good profit

  15. Has anyone dealt with him directly? Or just through ebay?

  16. Especially for all the set that have a lot of small pieces like the White House. A lot of small piece, but the MSRP is about $49.99. Too much for me. Waiting until I see a 50% off sticker on the set to buy it.

  17. It's funny for me seeing the huge amassed pile of that polybag which has been sitting at my Five Below for the past something months. I don't think they could even give em' away. I guess Harry Potter just sells better in certain areas than others. :dontknow:

  19. Neat find. I just wonder why Lego made two slightly different ones? Anyway, this image shows the difference between the two. Judging by the image comparison, I would say the one you have is the sw029 (the first link in @rtisan's post).

  20. Limiting 1 per household promos will def. stop be from placing 10-20 orders each promo period. There really is no point in paying full msrp at lego when I can get most sets at walmart .. target.. ect for way below msrp. I really hope they dont start limiting the promos for online orders.

  24. Do these per customer limits reset everyday at the Lego Store? Or is it 1 per customer FOREVER? Will they eventually tell me no if I keep trying to buy 1 per customer per day?

  25. The Euro zone have yet to get the May 4th discount on the B Wing that the US did. We are hoping we get a crack at a 50% discount before it goes. I think the Aussies and New Zealanders and all the rest of the world would feel the same. I feel that i'm 2nd class scum in the eyes of LEGO company. I want my discount and I want it now. I'm throwing all of my toys out of my pram.

  26. 1st part - What? Why wouldn't they let you!?!?! 2nd part - Also, I never ask them to give me two. I make one purchase as inconspicuous as possible....go do the rest of my shopping and come back again later and go when someone else is at the register....NEVER had a problem. (granted Ive only done it three times.) (Of course you have to take your bag to your car....u might wanna lose your jacket too. If they ever asked if i was just in there an hour ago...I'd say no.

  27. No, everyone just assumed the early shipments were all 20,000. I bet the first shipments before the most recent restock weren't even half of the production run.

  29. Whether TLG has the ability to cancel promos anytime they want or whatever is one thing, but it's bad business ethics to wait until after "checkout" is complete to tell you they've done so. I wouldn't mind if it was a case of them removing it from your cart before you checked out, but dropping it from your order after you've paid seems pretty deceptive to me. If they are out, they need to communicate that or drop all indication of the promo from the site, not cancel the order after you pay.

  30. If I ordered a set with the understanding that I was receiving a "bonus" set along with it and I didn't get it, I would be upset as well. A company should be able to monitor inventory better than that. I believe it is false advertising to entice you with an extra set, then send you through checkout with the understanding that your will receive the set, then cancel the bonus set after the order was completed. As for Alcarin...I guess your parents didn't hug you enough.

  31. Alcarin, if you celebrate Christmas with your family, I hope they decide not to give you any gifts this year and donate the funds to a charity in your name instead. Without telling you first... so that you have bought them gifts already. I am sure you will not be disappointed. It is their decision to make and it would be a good thing to give back to those in need. As far as LEGO canceling a promotion, I know that the small print says they can cancel the promotion at their discretion. However, their ordering system has to be smart enough that when you place an order it doesn't allow the promotion to show up in your cart before you click "Buy". Once you are presented that offer in your cart with your purchase and click "Buy", LEGO needs to honor that transaction or break trust with their customer. That is what we call Bad Business. If I was in the LEGO store and did the same transaction, and they tried to pull the promo item out of my bag as I left the store, I can promise you they would have to call security.

  32. I think it's rude that they just cancel a customer offer with no reason or recompense, and with all due, I also think my decision to purchase lego sets at a time when I can take advantage of the best offers also makes good financial sense so I'm not really sure a great deal of 'rethinking' is necessary.

  33. I agree with this. The one thing I have noticed in many emazer posts is he keeps telling people to put all your money in this set and that set. Like others have said, that may be his strategy and I am sure a decent one at that. But if he keeps telling everyone to buy just these sets, he will be sitting on a big pile of doo doo in the future (well maybe not that drastic). Anyhow, people do need to purchase what they feel comfortable with. Emazers has been helpful and I appreciate the images and posts, but people need to follow their own path. Nothing is guaranteed.

  35. The Container Store. Multilevel display case, can adjust steps. Great for minifigure displays or a vehicle and some figures: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/collections/display/cubesCases?productId=10022884&******=233 Basketball and Soccer displays handle Funhouse with some mod and tiefighter: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/collections/display/cubesCases?productId=10001589&******=233 Doll Size Case handles Palace Cinema and other modulars: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/collections/display/cubesCases?productId=10001591&******=233 They also have a 24 section hinged acrylic case that holds a minifigure in each section. Just some ideas, good luck keeping dust bunnies at bay.

  36. Parting out sets you need to remember the following: 1. I tally up what I can get worst case scenario for each item including shipping and Ebay fees. This is what I have to buy the set at or under to ensure I make a profit. 2. Stuff will sit. Some stuff moves, but the "no minifigures" sets don't move quickly. I have some sitting for two months from when I started. They will sell eventually, but the actually pieces part of the set is the most expensive part. I have several sets where I sold all the figs and made back my money, but I am just waiting for the ship itself to sell to actually profit. 3. Shipping the non minifigure pieces - Don't offer a box. Adds up shipping too much. Without it, you can use a padded envelope and keep things a lot more resonable. 4. Don't sell any of the same sets as me. I don't need competition. That is all.

  37. It could - just make sure you don't get caught without some. You will regret it. But I agree, if you can snag one for even just over retail right as it retires, you will be good still.

  38. I'm with maxgc53 - I love the stagecoach and think it will be a real retirement winner. I think it will hit at least twice MSRP ($70) when all is said and done. You can buy it on Amazon for $25 w/ no shipping right now. If you decide to head over to Amazon, click the link above (to give BP the pass-thru), and then when you're at Amazon, type "Lego Lone Ranger" in the search box, and see how many reviews have been done for the stagecoach in comparison to every other set. A little bit of empirical evidence of its popularity in comparison to the rest of the line...
