I don't open any cases, I leave them all sealed as that would reduce their value... wait... what's going on here...?3 points

Attention stock holders of S&P500 companies. Shame on you for buying stock when its cheap and selling when its high. You should sell it at what you paid for it or less. ....for the children.2 points

Around holiday season last year, before christmas and after thanksgiving, I was browsing the dealnews app on my phone and saw a 20% off at some store, I don't remmeber which one now. I was debating for a little if i want to get the super star destroyer because i thought it was 'too expensive'. Soon enough that deal was gone and I was kicking myself on the nuts.1 point

From a buyer's point of view, there is the gas and time that a buyer pays that a seller never takes into consideration. Who wants take an hour and drive 10+ miles (@ $.50/mile) to buy a single LEGO set if I am saving "only" 20%. Plus there is no real guarantee that the set is complete (is new and sealed really new and sealed?) and no return is ever possible. At least with Amazon/eBay, it comes to your door and you can file a complaint/get a return. The whole anonymity of craigslist (no one can verify that you are telling the truth, are otherwise top-rated on Amazon/eBay and take care of your sets) and the cost of the time/effort/gas for the buyer means that the buyer is looking for a "great" deal if it's not a hard to find or extremely popular item (e.***. iPhone). Bottom line: if you want the best price, put in the effort and sell on eBay or Amazon. If you want immediate cash money that comes to your door with no or little effort on your part, then you will have to sell it "cheap" on Craigslist.1 point

Ummm, yeah......I'm not answeing employent ads as a ranch hand on a remote farm. I've been buying and selling on CL for a few years now so I'm aware of potential issues. I realy don't think I need to worry about someone murdering me for a few lego sets. I typically meet buyers/sellers at public places and your spidey sense typically goes off if there's not something right within the first few email replies to your ad. Besides I'm packing anyway and if someone wants to try something stupid I'm more than happy to 'decompress' them. One less trashy in the world. But thanks for the warning.1 point

CL is really well positioned for sellers to liquidate their inventory quickly and cheaply. With CL, your market is small - generally it's only folks in your area - that tend to be bargain shoppers. Buyers willing to pay retail can do so from the comfort of their own couch on eBay, Amazon, or even BrickLink and have it shipped to their door. CL buyers are the ones who will trade convenience for price, and are typically looking for BIG discounts accordingly.1 point

And they still complain that they are paying over the odds, Shelob is not worth $20; Barrell Escape is not worth $40 Well thats the numbers we have to pay but in1 point

I reckon most of us down in Aus feel the same, too. I had to stop reading the 50% off Kmart thread as that was causing me physical pain1 point

I have just realised that - for once - the UK and possibly Europe are better off on this deal. From the 14th we only have to spend1 point

Well Here is my Sets I got at 2 Lego Stores, First I went to Christina Mall in Delaware, no sales Tax. Got 6 Volkswagen Campers there for $100 Each, got 4 haunted Houses for $140 each, 3 Tower Bridges $200 each, and 2 GE for $120 each. A Death Star for $320.00 I would of gotten everything there, but thats all he had, or some of the boxes were in bad shape, He really didn't care what I got or how many. I had 2 VIP cards with a good deal of money on them. Then I went to Arundel Mills as I was going to my sons house that lives around there, got 2 more campers $106 each, And another haunted House $145.Will pick up some other stuff later this month.Plus at Delaware he gave me more mini vans. With the bad reviews the movie is getting I would not be surprised the stores are just cutting their loses with the theme and making room for more popular themes.1 point

Fred Meyer is running a 10% off deal on top of the sales price. I picked up four Uruk hai sets for $18 with no sales tax!1 point

I agree with you guys. Summer Riding Camp is a REALLY REALLY nice set. Girls and Pony goes hand in hand just like Boys and Troopers/Army Minifigs. Olivia's House is great. Just wish it was a little Bigger like a Doll house. Maybe they will have a Stephanie or Andrea Mansion. That would be sweet!!!! I like Olivia's Tree House, Stephanie's Cool Convertible, City Pool, and the City Park Cafe to do real well for the smaller sets. I think these will be great for quick flips this Xmas.1 point

1-Lego and Tru Exclusive 3185 Summer Riding Camp 2-Olivia's House 3-This one will be the hottest seller this year The Dolphin Cruiser $69.99. Ihave 22 of the 3185 and Olivia's House and will load up on the Dolphin Cruiser.1 point

I firmly agree that Summer Riding Camp and Olivia's House are going to be winners. If they are smart enough to produce more houses in each wave...Mia's House, etc, then Olivia's is going to be huge down the road IMO.1 point

I think most of them will do well. Especially the first wave of sets that Lego had real trouble keeping up with demand on. Subsequent sets production runs and supply will have been a lot greater. Big sets for big $ returns, but if you are prepared to grind a lot of small sets I think they will be a winner as well. My girls love them.1 point

Castle sets have a fan base, but I don't see it as a really popular theme. The new Hobbit sets might be a hit in that kind of similar genre.1 point
