  1.     That's rough...why don't you just list the Destiny's Bounty for sale, then when someone buys it send them a confirmation telling them that you have shipped their Ultra Sonic Raider?

  2. So I guess everybody know's if you make over $20,000 and have over 200 Paypal Transactions Paypal sends you a w2 Statement to you and the IRS. When this started 2 years ago I called Paypal and asked them about Chargebacks, Chargebacks are when you buy something with your Paypal credit card and then you return it to say Target Etc and you get your money back, well thats a Chargeback and that count's toward you receiving money, Paypal told me it didn't count, but guess what it does count. So 2 years ago I got the w2 from Paypal saying I made $65,000 but had 210 Paypal Transactions, so this won't affect most people on here but if you sell alot keep that in mine. So if I buy Lego's and I think there is a chance I might return them I pay with cash. So as of right now I have 82 Paypal Transactions.

  3. I think you have brought up cool things your girlfriend has done several times now. If I were you I would, in the words of Beyonce "put a ring on it". lol

  4. If your question is, can you still return it to the physical store, the answer is yes. I recall some members finding online-only sets in-store, most likely as a result of online purchases that were returned in-store.

  5. You'll want to go for something somewhat iconic, but not so iconic that Lego will keep making it forever. The safest bets are probably Death Star and Super Star Destroyer. If those are beyond your budget, my hunch is that the Ewok village will fuel some demand for the 9489 Endor battle pack, but that's assuming that'll retire before the Ewok Village. In the mid range you could concider Rancor Pit or Tie fighter. it'll always be a bit of a gamble. Be advised that apart from the UCS, Star Wars actually isn't one of the best performing themes (among other things because of the remakes), so if you want to invest in sets between 50-100 bucks maybe you should give other themes (super heroes for example) a thought. Also I suspect sets like the Volkswagen Camper Van and Sopwith Camel will do well in the aftermarket.

  7. The worst thing about tax law in America is that the government doesn't make an effort to educate citizens about it. You can say it's my responsibility to find out for myself, sure. But I could say that, hypothetically speaking, if I wanted my cut of your money, I'd make damn sure you knew how much you owed me. Anybody here learn any tax law in high school? Probably not. I'm of the opinion that personal finance should be a significant area of study in public schools. It's no wonder this country goes in and out of financial crises; money is a subject often ignored in education.

  8. You're talking about Sales and Use tax, and the laws vary state by state. Some states have no Sales/Use tax at all, and there is no requirement for taxpayers to report out of state/country purchases. There is currently no federal sales tax. Most, if not all, states that have Sales/Use tax do require you to report taxable (not everything you buy is taxable) purchases if you did not pay sales tax or, at least in the case of California, if you paid less sales tax than you would have owed had you purchased the item in your state. (I.e, if I go out of state to purchase items and pay 5% sales tax there, I owe the difference to California between that 5% and my county's sales/use tax rate). IF the out of state/country purchase is consumed/used out of state, I do not owe California anything for those purchases - I do not have to pay a "use" tax for something I didn't "use" in California. I do notice that you like to call people names, which I find immature and boring. I was a bit startled at your disparaging comments about "gypsies" and their habits in your country, and you seem to also like to attack Americans in general and those who are financially better off than you as well. If you really feel that disparaging others is the best use of your time on this forum and in life, I'd encourage you to find a more positive outlet - you may find yourself enjoying more success.

  10. It's okay, DoNot - eventually when you reach my age you won't even have to dream things to get confused about what you've done or said, you'll walk around in a fog of confusion even when you're wide awake. I do find it disheartening that my husband, 11 years older than me at 57, has a better memory and better hearing than I do. I tell him if he married me to take care of him in his old age, he may have made a bad investment.

  11. And then, it's funny to see how many people treat their tax refunds as if it were free money.

  12. While I understand the concern about the charge backs and wanting to avoid the accounting hassle of telling the IRS that not all of that is profit etc. I am about to say something that will probably get me boo'd out of the building...I know this thread is not about how to avoid taxes but to avoid chargebacks but there are some who are interested in not getting a 1099 in the hopes of hiding their income. I don't recommend hiding any PROFITS from the IRS. It is illegal. No you probably won't get caught but to me, that is not the point. I am not an accountant and won't pretend to be but this article might help some...(It's about garage sales but you'll get the gist.) http://blogs.hrblock.com/2012/07/25/garage-sale-money-does-the-irs-need-to-know/ Taxes suck but so do tax cheats. If you don't like paying them, campaign for those who are trying to lower them. Sorry I don't mean to tell others how to do their business, I just thought it was important for those who are reading this thread know that taxes legally need to paid whether it is reported to the IRS or not. A good accountant will be able to advise you on how to keep your tax obligations to a min. (IE what kind of deductibles you can use etc.) Let the booing begin!!!

  13. My guess is if it does have an outside dining area, it would probably only have two interior floors, three would be a bit much. But anyone's guess is as good as mine.

  14. You have to have over 200 Paypal Transactions and Over $20,000 Made "It has to be both" And the 200 Paypal Transactions do not have to be all ebay, I could paypal you $500 for a Lego set, so thats a transaction. You sending Payments does not count toward none of this, and again if you and your wife go out and buy a $500 TV, and you return it for your money back, well thats a charge-back, and that counts as a paypal transaction.

  18. Definitely prefer new in unopened box for our own builds - don't care if the box itself is trashed, though. The main reason is that nobody except my husband can apply decals to his standards, and I'm tired of hunting down obscure decal sheets to purchase for him after he explains in minute detail that he needs them, immediately or sooner, and that the person who put the decals on his set of the week was obviously a convicted felon, a vandal, and probably talks in movie theaters.
