Ok, this is just my personal opinion, so please don't assume that other mods or admins see it the same way. This "pics or it never happened" is something I just don't understand. For example, take that time I got that excellent deal that included Market Street for $60 and similar discounts on a bunch of valuable sets. If someone had asked me to post pics to "verify" I actually got it, do you really think I would post them just to prove something on here? I would say no. Quite honestly, when I get a great deal it makes no difference to me whether people on here believe or not, I will still make lots of money either way. Even more, anyone that is coming here and posting fake deals or purchases just to look smart or gain some sort of reputation is what I would consider pathetic.6 points

I reckon if I even suggested that to the missus, I'd have all the space around the park bench I would find myself sleeping on But thanks for thinking of me4 points

Nope. Resellers who buy one or two 41999s go to heaven. Resellers who buy over two go to hell.2 points

I am a transmission design engineer, and I can thank growing up with lego for that. I remember first using the technic sets learning about gear ratios and differentials. It also helps me to have a bit of creativity when dealing with difficult spacial issues. That being said, Its a lot harder to rebuild the parts I now work with into a bitchin spaceship.2 points

Now this is interesting news..... http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/09/12/harry-potter-spinoff-movie-series-fantastic-beasts-and-where-to-find-them-announced Harry Potter Spinoff Movie Series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Announced The new series is set seventy years before Harry Potter. by Eric Goldman SEPTEMBER 12, 2013 Warner Bros. have announced a new film series that will be set in the same world as Harry Potter: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Potter fans will recognize the title, as it was used for a Potter spinoff book, presented as a Hogwarts textbook read by Harry, Ron and Hermione. The film will be an original story centered on the supposed author of that book, Newt Scamander. JK Rowling will write the first film herself, making her screenwriting debut. Fantastic Beasts is a spinoff of the Potter series, set in the same universe, though Rowling cautions that it1 point

I've only passed up lego sets twice at 50% off or more. I will almost never pass up a Lego set at at least 50% off.1 point

So do you all think it's a mistake to sell 2507 this Christmas then? (I read emazers 1st post, but that's a few months old now). I haven't paid too much attention to Ninjago but have 10 of this set (which is a lot for me, as most sets I have 1-3) because I was picking them up BNIB for1 point

The point was raised on Eurobricks, "Why would Lego produce licensed CMF's?" If they did this with an ongoing theme, Lego could expect their sales for those particular sales to drop significantly because many buyers buy for.............The MINIFIGURES! I could see them making figures for sets not being produced, but to release Simpsons, or Superheroes, or LotR(God willing ) CMF's alongside sets, it would, I think, definitely affect set sales. Something to think about.1 point

Many might not agree with me, but I believe if someone states that they have a large amount of LEGO sets or purchases in large quantities, then they should be ready to back up the statement with some photos. I was an expert troll on the XBOX 360 forums and I know very little of what people write on internet forums is based on reality. While it was no big deal on a video game forum to stretch the truth, a site like this deals with money and statements need to be verified in some cases. Exaggerating the truth can cause others to misjudge the market and make poor decisions based on inaccurate information. There is no way to validate many statements, but in some cases, photos will help.1 point

100% agree on this but..........it seems that people are just posting thing just to post now, no real useful info has been posted for quite a few pages thus the tangents.1 point

While I don't personally care what people's opinions are regarding future values, retirement dates, etc., what else do you expect people to discuss on a site like this? There are plenty of discussions on sales and deals. If that's all you want to see, then just stick to those kinds of posts.1 point

I agree with the knocking on others, but at the same time what may be useless banter to you may be somewhat interesting to the rest of us. Thats why you can just simply move on in the thread or not participate in it anymore.1 point

lol why don't you get started "scouring the internets" for a deal on a 41999. Let us know what you come up with.1 point

ANYONE who buys 41999s from me goes to heaven. That's right folks you hear it here first, buy from me and you go to heaven*. *The heaven mentioned in this add refers to state of euphoria from buying an awesome set like 41999. There is no mention or affiliation to any religion or believe ever existed on earth or planet Xenu.1 point

Does anyone have anything remotely relevant or interesting to post to this thread? Instead of posting nonsense here how about scouring the Internets looking for Lego deals....1 point

When someone tells something incredible.... as having 200 crawlers... people tend to want to see some ''proof'' not just because they do not believe it but because it would ALSO be great to see 200 crawlers in 1 room... simple as that... I myself dont care if he has 200 or 150 or 5... but seeing 200 crawlers in 1 room on a photo would just be great... I dont believe it right now but I will believe it if he shows it once and even next time when he claims something I'll believe him... but i dont care either way1 point

This is one of the many internet phrases that absolutely needs to die a painful death. But he came through anyway. Are these limited edition though? I don't think the secondary market will be kind to these. I would return them.1 point

At least it wasn't the one where you can see the reflection of a guy taking the shot of a teapot and all he was wearing is his 'birthday suit'. :frantics:1 point

Fun find today. Answered a CL free listing advertising a dozen or so "how to guides" (instructions) for late 80s-early 90s sets. Also mentioned a couple of "road plates". I set up time to come pick it up, and the lister mentions she also has a bunch of the specialty Lego pieces for the sets in a plastic tub, I can have those for free as well. Not sure why she didn't put that in the listing? Went and picked it up - the tub was about 10 lbs of what looks to be really clean and good condition parts to these sets. At a quick glance, lots of printed pieces, have seen about six minifigs so far....looking forward to going through it. The instructions are mostly near mint - probably close to 20 or so. Oh, and the road plates ended up being about 4 green road plates and one gray Fire station plate plus some smaller ones. Also included the box for 6543, although it is pretty beat up. I don't think there are any complete sets or anything, but for about $1 of gas, should be fun to sort through tonight.1 point

Melbourne, Australia for me. And I get very sad when seeing some of the great deals available to our American friends...even the retail prices there. And to have a Lego store to be able to visit...how nice (and dangerous!) that would be. [On a side note: on my last trip to the US, I managed to squeeze a Death Star into my luggage and bring home! At that time, we had a strong Aussie dollar, so I pretty much got it at $400 AUD. Too good to pass up.]1 point

Welcome! Now, as for all that silliness about not becoming at LEAST a collector if not a full-blown investor, of course you have the room. Look around, I'll bet your house is cluttered up with all sorts of unnecessary things like beds, couches, counters in the kitchen... get rid of all that junk and you'll have room for Legos AND more books!1 point

Always glad to help. Here is a topic I started back in April to help others get a better understanding of smooshing. A 'smooshers' guide to MinifiguresBack on this topic, my Target got these in last week and I obtained a complete set of sixteen all in one go. Now time for the extras!1 point
