Sure the haunted House is way better than the Vampire Castle, next halloween and Christmas these should bring in a good profit, But 2 years and later will really be great. And on the haunted House seems like alot of people don't agree on me keep buying haunted Houses, all I am telling people is to buy one every time you can spare the money, I see the price of this set skyrocket after it retires. I am trying to help guys you make some big money.3 points

I wonder if anyone thought of doing a Millennium Falcon all Friends themed in magenta, lavendar, and azure? :frantics:1 point

Having them available again in a second run does seem to go against this statement in their email: "This puts you in elite company as these sets are now sold out, never to return." I think I said before they did the same thing with the Minifig, so no surprises there. So anyone who is thinking of these as an investment might want to... tread lightly1 point

Aaargh. I tried it too. No luck. I guess the Targets in my area just love their pirate ships and/or have the space to keep them around. Still saw a $52 Ghost Train and a $65 Mines of Moira. Meh. Once they're out of the system, all previously clearanced sets are turned over to local charities (usually Goodwill) and the tax writeoff is taken instead. I briefly thought about hawking my Goodwill stores near Targets too, but after trying once, immediately decided it was not worth the effort.1 point

Aaaarghhhh. Back home now, with access to LEGO Shop at Home. <Insert Zombie voice> "Must place order, must place order. Resistance is Futile". Order placed!1 point

If there's ever going to be a strong performer from the Chima line, this is most likely to be it. It's the most iconic location of the Chima world (under the Chi Falls from Mt. Kevora), and it's a really cool set with a rare color scheme to boot (Chima gold and brown). Nice price on this too, although you may be waiting awhile for this to EOL, though.1 point

Here in the States, I'm not seeing a lot of part-out potential. Common soldiers like this might net $3 USD each if you're lucky (2 GBP), and I can't see the remaining scene going for any more than $3 (2 GBP). That's a best case scenario of $15 net (and that's probably high), for a $12 retail price. Not a lot of payoff - looking at 25% ROI as your top dollar. If eBay UK is showing a better sold price than 2 GBP per fig, you may have something.1 point

I think its just plain silly to think that a limited edition set as epic as the crawler will be worth more that a set that is just OK (tower bridge) and was mass produced. Just my opinion.1 point

Considering that I picked up four in Annapolis and left four there, two from Tysons that were replenished by staff immediately, and the rest at Arundel yeah, I'd say they are falling out of the back rooms. Oh yeah two from LEGO Shop at Home.1 point

These sets have been discontinued for a little while now but I don't really think they have gone up in value too much. I have the opportunity to buy ten of them for 36 bucks each. Do we think they are going to go up in value enough in the next two years to make that a significantly good enough investment? Lemme know what ya'll think..1 point

I remember reading that breaking news last year. How absurd, a guy living in Silicon Valley needed discounts on Lego.... I know it was theft and making a quick buck by flipping but the whole thing for whatever the reason is still asinine all the same.1 point

http://www.mercurynews.com/year-in-review/ci_20675946/silicon-valley-tech-executive-lego-theft-barcode-scheme-charged-sap-toys I'm sure he's not the only one to do this with a variety of merchandise.1 point

I might have missed the conversation about the barcode thing, what exactly is it about? Did you mean remove a red clearance price tag from another item and stick it onto the Lego set that you want to buy, and hope the cashier will give you that red price? This is a crime and if you get caught on security cameras, you'd get handcuff.1 point

Teaching you how to fish in regards to modified pieces ... turn the piece over and look for the tiny part number embossed on the lego. This is typically "inside" the lego. Then go to bricklink and type in the part number and end it with an asterisk. So for the hogwarts piece you can type in 3008* and search. You can also refine by type, so pick "parts" > Go from the filter. View as thumbnails and spend a few minutes browsing. Tons easier than posting pics and waiting for an answer here. You can also type in the piece type ... brick, brick 1x8, or 1x8 all work. If you just pick a type you can filter for "modified". Otherwise just browse the pictures until you find it. This is useful when you can't read/find the part number. Minifigs are more challenging...you just learn which features get listed as part of the searchable name.1 point

Goblin kings are sitting at so many Walmarts...I have no doubt that they will drop to $35 at some point. Even at $65, I'm not a buyer of goblin kings. The only thing that concerns me about returning the sets is employees potentially buying them before they go back on shelves.1 point

That's from the Stingrays Recon Ray. Had the set as a kid. Loved those Aquazone sets! Here is that specific part on BrickLink.1 point

I was able to acquire 4 ships and 3 gates at the first clearance price over the past 2 1/2 weeks. I am going to try the adjustment tomorrow. If they don't adjust I will just return them and hope they go back to the shelf where I can re-buy them. Getting them at the first clearance price doesn't seem like such a good deal anymore after hearing about this second wave of clearance prices. If it goes through that will put $262 back into my pocket, which would be huge. Worst case scenario, I return and don't re-buy, which I would be fine with too since the first wave of clearance prices are nothing to get excited about anymore. The sets are boxed up and the receipts are in hand! Wish me luck!1 point

Sounds awesome. Nothing curbs your desire to go to the lego store and spend money on sets you'll just want to open like buying a car full of used legos for a good price!1 point

You have to click item then "find in store" then select the specific store from list (to enter store mode) then go to your List - you should see a notice that pops up "prices updated to reflect current store". Then repeat for every store. For me (iPhone) it doesn't seem to work quite as well as others - for example my quantities always show 1 and never updates actual quantities.1 point
-
You could try adding in a set or alter the quantity of one in your Brickfolio and wait about 15 minutes later for the system to update everything.1 point

Same here to both respones. My Target never once had a mistake sale on Pirate Ship Ambush or Battle at Black Gate. Amazing....Ah well, I did find a Helm's Deep for $85 and Goblin King Battle for $65 so at least I found something worthwhile all the same.1 point

OK, just came back from another Target store trying to do the price adjustment again. This time it didn't go as smooth as the first one I did at another Target store. So here is what happened - I tried to do the price adjustment for the two Ambush ships that I paid for $70 each. The girl at register was extremely helpful and she tried to help me return the items and re-purchase it without hassles, but then the evil supervisor walked by and told the girl she can't do that. The supervisor said the store policy is all return clearance items must go back to the shelves first before they can be re-purchased. So the supervisor put the Ambush boxes on the cart and asked me to wait for the handler to put them back to the shelves first. I waited for about 40 minutes... and the handler never showed up. Luckily the store closes at 11pm, so the supervisor had no choice but had to let me re-purchase it without waiting for the handler to show up. So I walked out the store with 2 Ambush ships at $30 each, plus the last remaining Ambush ship found on the shelves also at $30. So $90 + 40 mins wait time for 3 Ambush ships, I guess not too bad :-) So it looks like it's quite YMMV.1 point

I can see it, too. I don't think I'll be using the feature any more, though - I am terrible at remembering names, etc., and don't want to be arrested for spamming if I suddenly have a rash of posts I like from the same person and don't remember I've already hit like whatever number of times that day/week for that person.1 point

Maybe you are correct... IDK... This isn't the banner I saw but... http://www.target.com/c/target-black-friday/-/******-5q0f2 Seems like it could be generic sales or they could be promoting some big sale. And if anyone is looking for some sponge bob from target...here is a 20% of coupon. http://coupons.target.com/toys-coupons1 point

I agree with Rich, 36 bucks a pop isn't too great when you likely won't be able to get much more than MSRP for them. As a guy who's into castle from a builders point of view, this isn't a set I would have bought new for 39.99, and I'm not going to do it now. I can see the actual castle structures doing better, though.1 point
