  1. So a while back I wrote this blog, but it was in the middle of a crap load of others and I don't know how people saw it. Maybe everyone already does this: http://community.brickpicker.com/blog/28/entry-366-amazon-gold-box-deals-make-sure-you-are-getting-the-most-out-of-amazons-discount-system/ Anyway, you can basically tell Amazon you only want Lego sets in your Gold box and it works really pretty well. I have multiple Lego sets in it almost everyday. Last 3 days in a row, I have had at least one of the minecraft sets and I got all three of them for $33.24 which as you all know anything is a good discount on those. I also recently got the delorean, and pick up battlepacks constantly there. If you aren't doing this, you are missing out. Just wanted to let people know if they didn't already.

  2. I feel bullied by Amazon. Lately when I order from them, their free "super saver" shipping has been taking forrrrrevvvvvver to get out the door. At the same time, their incessant yammering to join Prime has been ramping up on my Amazon screens, in my mailbox, etc. My 2 a.m. Pacific time conspiracy theory is that they're trying to bully me with redonculously slow shipping so I have no choice but to buy prime or suffer the, "hmm, we know we put your stuff around here SOMEWHERE" consequences. I was about to sign up for Prime anyway (it does make sense for as much as I buy from Amazon) but now they've made me feel like I'm negotiating with terrorists and I don't want to let them win. Back OFF Amazon! If you want this relationship to work I need a little space!

  3. If they make another mini modular set which I think they will, I don't think any of the ones used in this version will be included. IMO the next mini modular would include the Town Hall, Pet Shop, Palace Cinema, and the next 1 or 2 after that, so it could be awhile before this one is EOL. That said I think its worth investing in, it's at an attractive retail price, an exclusive, and isn't talked about as much so it will be under the radar of most investors/collectors. There will be several hundred of the big large expensive sets everyone is stocking up on for sale so you'll have less competition selling this set.

  7. I changed the title to help lessen the severity and put it on point with the topic so people can chime in on it.

  8. If you follow the data, there was a huge spike in sold sets when this thing took off. Now it is petering out a bit with growth slowing. The sales on ebay though are declining. The set is just taking a breather before another possible spike before Christmas, though nowhere near as strong as the last. Following that as the set continues to disappear the price will increase. If you want to invest that money into something else you think will be a short term, high gain winner, that is fair enough, but this baby still has legs. They might remake the shuttle with smaller renditions, but it will be awhile before we see another large one like this.

  9. I took the items and the receipts with me, so they can scan them and in case they actually took them and put the back on the shelf. I had reciepts from 3 different stores, none of which were the one I returned them to. I just picked the closest one to me with pleasant employees where I knew the items hit 30% the weeks beforel. The most important thing is to make sure you take them back to a store that had them at 30% in the first place, so that hopefully they have dropped them down to 70%. The girl at the register was able to scan them and tell me the price while I was explaining the situation. You DO NOT want to return them to a store that never clearanced them because they will be resold at full retail. If you know of one where the customer service people are sticklers about the rules or one that is poorly managed and items take a long time to be restocked, it may be more trouble than its worth. I went in ready to let them hit the shelves again tonight or tomorrow, but I still had a few I kept at home too just in case.

So this evening I brought the two Ambush ships and Black Gate I bought last week to Target store, and they did a price adjustment for me without any issues. 11. Well, that makes 4 this year...that I know of. Removed the clogged cat converter on my car last week...because I didn't want to pay $300 to repair our 4th car in fleet that is 15 years old. I also smuggled in cuban cigars from my trip to Toronto a couple weeks ago...and I brought some old silver US coins I had to be smelt into a few troy billets....well...I guess the guy at jewlery exchange broke that one not me. We also used the penny press at the aquarium this morning...not sure if that is defacing or destroying US currency. While we are at confession....I almost always drive 72 in a 65. Sometimes 78.....without a seatbelt! Lock me up uncle Sam! And my son rides his scooter---without a helmet! Freedom....yeah right.

  12. Ha ha...I can just picture this seller checking his listing "man! I am getting a ton of page views I am the most Awesomest eBay seller ever!" Meanwhile it's all the Brickpicker's clicking through cause of this thread.

  13. Used Taj Mahal for $500 buy it now on eBay. Was listed as 98% complete with no box or instructions. It was newly listed and as I was doing some quick study of the pictures to see what might be missing other than the $100 set of instructions somebody else scooped it up. Oh well. maybe next time. After they buy the instructions they should still make a couple hundred on it. That's what I get for being slow.

  14. Do you need a permit to ride a bike or scooter down the block for fun? Many head injuries, blunt force trauma injuries, and casualties have come from this. Do people need to eat fast food for breakfast lunch and dinner? Food is a necessity that we must have to survive. But those will just clog your arteries. There are other foods that people can get and can also be affordable. And won't kill you as fast. Or cause diabetes which is another expensive long term health issue. Although I do agree with the point of regulation, I don't think it is feasible. Humans are stubborn. You can tell them what is safe and what is not safe but will they listen? Back to personal health, how many times have we been told to eat health, don't smoke, and drink in moderation (1-2 drinks daily). But how many people actually follow these guidelines every single day, every single year? On the box of the RC there was most likely a warning's and guidelines because every single thing you purchase these days have warnings.
