I can't take credit for this - my Wife told me to do this last month as I went down to the Lego store to pick up a Crawler and I mentioned I didn't want the free exclusive and it wasn't worth that much. I know this probably wont be popular this month with the great exclusives, but just wanted to share how right she was. She told me when I get my Polybag, just give it to the one of the kids behind me in line - or a kid in the store. I did it (GS polybag) and the kid about wet his pants he was so excited. So I will be doing this quite a bit from now on. Just wanted to share her idea and how I thought it was really cool to see a kids face light up when he got a free Lego set.6 points

A bunch of different reasons unfortunately. Number 1, a lot of these will have Ebay redirect you to a third party site to check out. It is fake and they manage to steal payment information from you because the connection to Paypal is not secure. They also get valid names and addresses from you which is enough to get a lot of information. Some manage to just duck paypal in different ways and paypal just pays the bill. Just stay clear of them - you want no part.1 point

I just got back from a LEGO retail store and got an October 2013 calendar. * October will be double VIP points * The clone trooper lieutenant promotion will continue for the entire month as Seapotato mentioned earlier. * From October 14-31 there will be an exclusive Holiday set with purchase of $99 or more. A second set will be available during "brick" friday weekend in November.1 point

You just gave me an idea take a quick look around and here are the current online sales. Target: Epic Dragon Battle $91.99 Ultra Sonic Raider $60.99 Walmart: Epic Dragon Battle $91.97 Ultra Sonic Raider $59.13 Amazon: Epic Dragon Battle $91.97 Ultra Sonic Raider $59.13 No surprise here; all three retailers are competing with their online pricing but so far it sounds like Target is the only one doing an actual in-store sale matching these discounts.1 point

others please correct me if I am wrong, but... 1. you can end any auction or listing without penalty as long as there are no bids on it. 2. fee will be the same. they add the final sale price to the shipping charge (if there is one) and take their cut off of that. 3. I have never had any issues with this but I would assume so. others who have had this experience should be able to provide more info.1 point

I would get it on Ebay as quick as possible though. I see all of these going down quickly because so many people will be parting out these to get the exclusives this month from Lego. Jek is a under the radar part out set though. 4 minifigs can net about 35-38 and ship itself about 35ish or so. So if you get it for 55ish, you can make money.1 point

I am not picking up anything from Target, I am going to 2 Lego Stores and get 6 Wolkswagen Campers and the 6 free ones, that brings me up to 19. I have 15 Mini Vans That I got on Ebay for $9.00 each. I am going to sell them as a Combo Set auction a few years down the line. The only 2 Lego sets I would get a Target would be the Gunship and Sailbarge, but since I got 2 years to get them I will wait, I am only getting Exclusives now. ED1 point

Either. And then save up and get the other one. :-D (I'd expect nether to be more collectible down the line, but that's my gut reaction and not based on any actually facts.)1 point

Hit up 3 Targets this morning and scored: 5 Pirate Ship Ambushs @$70 4 Blackgates @$42 The pattern stills hold for me. All of these stores had "limited availability" according to the app.1 point

Here's a tip thats worked pretty well for me. On the Target app search for one of the 2 sets. Under "add to basket" it says check for store availability. Obviously that will pull up the nearby stores showing "in stock", "limited stock" or "out of stock". I have universally found that it is the stores with "limited stock" that are participating in the secret sale. No "in stock" store that I visited had the sets discounted. Cause or effect? I don't know. But I've been to over a dozen Targets the past few days and they all follow this pattern.1 point

I'm a brick slickster when it comes to Bricklink. I have an unhealthy amount of spare parts lying around because of the sheer amount of orders I've done for building mobile frames for Mobile Frame Zero. Mostly fiddly bits, but it's a huge, huge amount.1 point
