  1. Wow, you know its funny because you talk this big game like you are this master person, but what I see is just someone who clearly thinks they know everything about everything and doesn't listen to anything. In fact, every single thing in my article was completely correct. I used a high shipping value for a battlepack. Guess what mr. "big time" sometimes you have to ship them in a box so they don't get obliterated by the idiots at USPS. Absolutely nothing in that article is incorrect. If you are this absolute genius as you seem to think you are, I challenge you to write something. You contribute nothing to this site except to tell other people they are stupid and to boast about how successful you are. I come here and actually try to help members. If you were really being polite, you would have PM'd me. Thats why its there. Instead, you publicly post stuff because you are completely full of yourself and want people to see you calling other people out. So I say this - Why don't you actually contribute something to the site rather than just criticizing others. I have written almost 50 articles, and have barely gotten a complaint from anyone else. You are one level above a troll.

  2. Just a random thought but when (if) you display your sets, do you separate the yellow minifigs from the flesh ones? Say you have Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. sets that some of the early licensed sets used the yellow while the newer ones used the flesh... do you display them all together? Maybe it's just my OCD but when they're all together it looks... weird.

  3. Again you are referencing errors - everything in that article was 100% true. So you are going to have to be more specific. Pickleboy actually got in trouble for trolling the thread. He was out of line, not me. As referenced by the mods calling him out. I have never been warned for anything. Why would anything I have done run anyone off this site. I only aim to help people, not belittle them to boost my own self confidence. I did find out though, you don't know everything. Because you say I am "incredibly unprofessional". I don't get paid to write here. I get some compensation in brick points to write the articles which is why I am very professional in them. So I don't have to be "professional" because this isn't a profession. In my actual job where I guarantee you I am much more successful than you at only 26 years old (Not because I am smart, because I am not really - just work 20 times harder than anyone else) I am extremely well respected because I have redefined my position as a network engineer. That is my real profession and I am very professional there. Its unbelievable how narcissistic you are. You think anyone would pay you to write for this site? I could turn on Fox news if we wanted to hear someone spewing egotistical crap all day. No one needs to be paid for it. I have no problem with people questioning me, it seems to be you that does. If you actually read the scams thread, I disagreed with Pickleboy and he continued to pester me. I ignored him. I actually have to capacity to admit when I am wrong, which you don't. I know your type - you have never said sorry or admitted you were wrong in any facet of life. Search through my posts - many times I have told people that they made good points and I agreed with them after listening. By the way, only doing something if you get something in return makes you selfish and conceited. So by not writing or contributing, you are in fact proving one of my points. Thanks for that. Anyway, I am putting you on ignore because I think if I hear anymore of your conceited garbage I am going to puke. You have made it clear your time is much more valuable than anyone elses, so don't bother responding because I wont see it.

  4. Once I started offering free shipping and adding the cost of shipping into the price my sales went up 10 fold. Funny thing is that I make more money by doing it this way than charging for shipping. On EBAY many people ding you on your DSR if you charge, what they believe, is too much for shipping even when you may LOSE money when actual shipping costs more. Its a crazy crazy world.

  5. It looks like you may have hit a "spam" button on your email client. I just looked on our email service and you were labeled in our spam blacklist area. I took you out of it so you should start seeing emails again. Send me a PM if you don't.

  6. Palpatine's Arrest is a decent set, IMO. Like said previously, it is TRUly hard to go wrong with more than 3 Jedi mini figures. That's why a Jedi Council Chamber would be such a huge hit with Lego fans. One day...one day.

  7. I don't really have a lot useful to add other than what Emes has covered - free shipping gains me a lot more than it loses me. When I went to free shipping a few years ago it had zero negative impact on my eBay sales. Emes did say something very important that I completely agree with: you don't have to have the lowest price to sell things. I am quite often middle or high-middle in price on the items I sell (books and Lego) and still enjoy healthy, steady sales. DNIM wrote: "Example, selling something that weighs 2 pounds and is worth $15. To ship this 2500 miles, it is going to cost 5-6. So lets say I bought this set for $10 and the average sales for them are 15. If I average in the highest shipping plus fees, to break even I have to sell it for $18. At $18, it aint going anywhere." - in my experience, it will in fact go, and at exactly the same speed or faster than the $15 plus shipping will go. We have over 4,000 items (the vast majority are books) in our eBay store and it's all free shipping. Our average sale on books is $20, our average sale on Lego is running about $18. Finally, in response to the OP, I have no idea why the CS refunded your FvF on shipping, but they shouldn't have and I definitely wouldn't count on it happening again. It's a valid fee that's been in place for years, so you just got lucky with someone who didn't know what they were doing.

  8. Nothing says "buy me now!" like a good picture and free shipping.

  9. I totally laughed at the title. I don't pay attention to it. I don't see color. I believe all minifigs were created equal.

  10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141045080308?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 What do you all think about this lot? I estimated value at around 300 or so. This is to build, not necessarily to flip although I could do that.

  11. DNIM, I was somewhat polite with you in my comments on this article that you posted: http://community.brickpicker.com/blog/4/entry-283-a-guide-to-shipping-carriers-its-a-drag-but-you-gotta-do-it/?st=20#commentsStart Let me say it this way, you're not looking at the full picture. I really think you need to revisit what you're doing/talking about, especially when you post an article that people who don't know better read as definitive. What we do with shipping is build in the highest domestic shipping cost (for which ever service we offer, we usually just say "economy" or "standard") into the price of the item, as well as the cost of packing material, boxes, and labels. I've compared doing this to offering domestic shipping as calculated, and there's little to no difference in sales. Something like this matters to us because we ship and sell a lot of things...trust me, if building in shipping into the cost of the item resulted in significantly fewer sales, we wouldn't do it. As I've said in many others posts here, we always list international shipping as calculated. The reason for this is the final value fees on domestic items are discounted for top rated sellers (we pay 7.2% final value fees with an eBay store for LEGO items). However, the final value fees on shipping for domestic items are not discounted. With international shipping, as Betsy mentioned, your final value fees are calculated on your least expensive shipping option, meaning if your first shipping option was domestic free then you're not charged a final value fee on international shipping. Another reason is that with shipping built into the item price, you get an automatic 5 Stars on the shipping and handling charge DSR. It's one less thing that the buyer can rate you on, which ultimately affects things like top rated and powerseller status. eBay rewards sellers who offer low cost shipping options. The other thing they do is pretty clearly explain all of this on their website. I'll also point out that your own recent thread is a really good example of why from eBay's perspective they charge a final value fee on shipping: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/5205-example-of-why-there-should-be-shipping-limits-on-ebay/?hl=10179#entry150462 It's to discourage people from making those types of listings. Frog, please add some useful comments.

  12. I suspect they thought you were a rookie and it was a one time thing. We build shipping into everything...it is not that complicated and it does not make for a harder sale.

  14. I got a monster fighter one for $100 shipped on ebay. Just be patient and wait it out. You will find it cheaper. They are actually pretty cool if you have room to display them.

  15. Yessir, Madison. Go 'get 'em Terry! 2 of the 4 Targets had them clearanced, so not all yet. 1 I didn't visit so I can't say, but I'm glad I got what I got.

  16. Yep, got 3 ships and 2 gates today at prices listed, and 3 gates the other day for the same. Nice deal.

  17. Yes...the 50% off was a mistake indeed. A target employee must have just stuck these discounted sets in a rack marked 50% off. So I ended up getting 50% off aalready discounted sets. Last night I picked up one set of each for 30% off and today I grabbed the last 2 ships for $35 and on gate for $20. I tried to grab the other gate that was left but the cashier told me they had already rectified the issue and moved that set elsewhere. Whatever...I'm happy with 2 ships and a gate for $99 out the door.

  18. I think $265 is a bit to expensive.

  19. Yes. These were in store. Don't know why these are being moved so soon. I went back, noticed there was a 50% next to them, inquired, and ended up getting another 2 ships for $35 each plus gate for $20

  20. Lots of people bought these at $100 for the may 4th sale, so some people are making a little money on this selling at $150. I agree, I would not buy this set for $200. It takes up too much space and looks okay. I did buy 2 for $100 each though and think that when it retires it will definitely start to pass the $150 mark on ebay
