  1. If you bought this set to have a really good RC car, then you are losing more and more credibility all the time. Your posts make my head hurt sometimes, sorry. This is a Lego set you know. Go to a hobby shop if you are looking for a cool gas powered truck with oil filled shocks, etc.

  3. Lego fan builds world's longest toy train circuit out of 93,000 bricks - and it takes more than three hours to go round http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2364154/Lego-fan-builds-worlds-longest-toy-train-circuit-93-000-bricks.html I am personally not a fan. I want a townscape...some buildings etc. I guess it's kinda cool b/c that thing is HUGE but, that just does not look fun to me.

  4. Rarity is only one side of the price equation as well. Like others have said there a plenty of exclusive minifigures around that have less than 5,000 units. The price is also dependent on how many buyers want it. Mr Gold has a high price because plenty of people seriously collect all the CMF lines.

  6. I called to ask about the one I purchased a few days ago that now is not in my order history - they said they see no record of it, but it may take a few days because it was an out of stock set. Told me to call back monday. Fat chance I that order actually shows up, right? lol.

  7. This is really interesting to watch, to see how this pans out. Technik is a niche type of lego. It sold out in no time, and the way the ebay bidding is going is out of control right now. Not sure where it's going to be, wish I bought a bunch of these. My lego store is out an they told me to check back in a few days.....(laff ur not getting more). But in any case, pretty exciting. It's a more fun stock market here.

  8. Going off the prices on the receipt it looks like you got alot at clearance similar to the prices that are starting to pop up nationwide....I spent over 300 last night in a similar fashion, just not to the degree you did. Without looking up set numbers, I'd say if you got a lot of Batcaves, Unexpected Gatherings, and Uruk-Hai Armies, you are probably making good decisions. If you bought a while bunch of questionable stuff, like the Saesse Tin starfighters, maybe not. I'm not saying the starfighters won't rise in value, I just think they won't do as well as some of the other choices that one could make given which items walmart seems to be clearancing right now. And of course it's just my opinion.

  9. I just make a stack and carry my sets because I'm a total Badass. In all seriousness though - it is hilarious how this varies walmart to walmart. One of ours is brand new and in the rich people side of town. That one it is like the carts are DW40'd before you pick them up. Go to the walmart in the bad part of town (the best lego walmart) and your cart will roll like they have the first wheels invented by cavemen.

  10. The you soldier fig is deff NOT more rare than Mr. Gold. As to rarer minifigs, there are plenty. The really rare ones don't usually come in sets however.

  11. So this is really OT even for the Odds & Ends forum, but I am excited haha. Anyway, my Mom is the type of person who keeps things for a really long time, even if they are terribly out dated. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I mean, it has been a good thing, as it taught me to think of all large purchases as an investment for the long term. Helps me save money. So, just yesterday, we stepped into the HD revolution and bought a 50" Panasonic plasma TV. I know it's entirely cliche, but the fact that I can finally see wrinkles in people's faces and notice their make-up is blowing my mind. I mean I've seen HD before obviously but mostly at like places of business where I wasn't paying attention to that stuff. Before this tv, we had two Standard Deff sets, a 19 inch that was over 20 years old, and a 27 inch that I played video games on in the basement. So although the HD revolution is long gone, I'm glad to have finally encountered it. Lololololol.

  12. I have just been hired at Amazon to be a "box sitter". Pays 7 bucks an hour and you get to "sit around" all day.

  13. It's not work when you're clearing a couple hundred flipping figures. This is the stuff I live for on Craigslist. Find a lot for $100, flip it for about $300, just by cleaning and sorting. I have purchased a lot of new sets by moving used stuff from Craigslist. Now that the summer is drawing to a close, it seems to be slowing down, I haven't found anything worthwhile in some time now.
