I think this thread needs to be pinned. I really can't believe that so many people not only wasted time with this, but actually posted for days about how it's legit and what not. I'm sure that nobody is really out anything as Amazon has the money, not the seller, but I still don't understand why anyone would waste the effort on something that was clearly a scam from the start. I have no idea what the seller hoped to gain from this, but maybe enough people never request a refund that it makes it worth a shot for them.2 points

When it comes time to need to fix bits like that, sometimes you have to go into "plain text" mode of the editor by clicking the little light switch icon in the top left corner. It will look a lot like the older forum format where you can see all the odd bits of code like. I'm centered text! or Look at me, I'm bold! Try and find out where the code brackets start and end.(Why the heck are there those psychadelic colors? Groovy....)1 point

I have to add these bits of code at the beginning and end of every video link for a while now for some reason. So your video link would look like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2uPJQVncHE It did automatically change the link into a video at the start of the forum change but some reason reverted back to doing the ol' hypertext link bit.1 point

Lets take this thread to a completely different direction. Favorite Jackie chan movies !!! Has anyone ever seen this gem called City Hunter ? It is a Hong Kong movie based on a popular 90s japanese comics / manga. This goofy movie is about a private detective solving a the mystery on a cruise ship. I do not think this movie was ever dubbed in English. Not a problem for me since I am a purist, subtitles or go home !! Here is the best scene of the movie. Fair warning, disturbing images towards the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4Psls1ngwM By the way, this clip is 2000x better than whatever that thing starring Jean Claude Van Damme1 point

I feel like going down the way of horror films for no good reason. These two here are a couple of my favorites. Like the tagline states, "The most fun you'll ever have being scared...." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trHvkuSON0I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EVwXd_lvxM Oh and by the way, if anyone can guess who played the character of Jordy Verrill in the first one gets an automatic thumbs up! (Especially if you can remember what he always said about 'luck'. ) There was a third sequel but that sucked major portions of ass. Course it had nothing to do with Stephen King or George Romero unlike the first two, so duh.1 point

Perhaps they were the incorrect design decisions made 10 years ago instead of lacking design intent? Regardless, I think a big reason for the TLG turn around is their better emphasis on their marketing strategies. Opening up Lego to more licensed themes was just one of many decisions that saved TLG. My bad, Brian. After reading my response, it probably came off harsher than it was supposed to. That said, I still expect you to start listening to and enjoying JB. Here's some inspiration for you...1 point

My son was blown away by the new castle sets. Since he's five, he's never seen a true Lego Castle theme before, and it's now his favorite theme. I think comparing Kingdoms to this new Castle line is kinda apples and oranges. Kingdoms targeted teens and, to a small extent, AFOLs. The new Castle line is intended as a gateway theme for youngsters. My son will not be the first or the last to swallow this bait... It's a similar product line strategy that Lego used with Chima/Ninjago. People that think Chima and Ninjago will be competitors when Ninjago returns are wrong. Chima is now the gateway theme, sparking an interest in Lego with boys aged 5-10. When they're ready, they graduate to a Ninjago theme with more mature plot lines and characters than Chima. They each serve a different role (target a different audience) in the product line. I can see how Castle fans may be disappointed in the look of this theme, especially ones with very high standards (here's looking at you Alcarin). I just think people need to remember who Lego is targeting before judging the theme as "terrible".1 point

If holding long term (like you) I would go DEFINITELY with a UCS set. If I had to choose, that set would be the SSD.1 point

You basically just slash your potential clients base in half (or more). All non-hard core collectors who would have paid $300+ for the Gunship (for example) all the sudden can wait a couple of months to get a newer version of the Gunship for much less. The average consumer more than likely would pick the cheaper option, effectively reducing the demands for the older sets.1 point

I for one am glad Lego made this set. Deride it all you want but it's a keeper for me.1 point

So he buys some weathertops for 60 at one Walmart, takes them to another Walmart where Weathertops are 40, exchanges for the full 60, and buys the 40 dollar weathertops? Why not just buy the 40 dollar weathertops in the first place? Maybe I don't get it now. I was thinking that he was trying to buy Weathertops at a Walmart that doesn't typically clearance, and then taking them to a Walmart that does clearance a bunch, turning them in, and then "hoping" that they would clearance them for cheaper because they had clearanced the same item in the past.1 point

Am I the only person around who often records sporting events? I wasn't worried about this game, but I'd be pretty bummed if I was and I came to this site and saw a post titled with exactly what I wouldn't want to see. Maybe we can make it a habit in the future to title such posts something like "Stanley Cup Results" so people can avoid the info if needed?1 point

Same here, but you can login anyway and right there you'll see the ad!1 point

You are being very kind. Our site is here to prevent this sort of fraud. Some members choose to ignore the wise words of others and insist on wasting their time and money with sites like this. The old phrase...If it sounds too good to be true...blah...blah...blah....applies in LEGO purchasing 100%.1 point

Oh wow. Check out their "About Us" page. It's completely plagiarized from Mr. Wamart himself!!!! I thought it sounded kind of weird, so I did a quick google search. Here is the link to PL about us page- http://promotionlists.com/index.php/about-us And here is the Walmart link- http://www.walmart.com/cp/An-Introduction-to-Walmart.com/542413 Funny how they took out the part about free parking. ha ha ha. Guys, this site is total BS1 point

Wow, that is amazing. Either an extremely generous person, or one that didn't know the value of their figures. Either way, very nice. You can find them here, as well. I was very happy with my sealed cases of Series 10 from them as well.1 point

Our reviews are more from an investment standpoint. Brickset and Eurobricks does a great job with reviews from a build standpoint. It's my belief that you can analyze a LEGO set based on investment characteristics without owning or building it.1 point

Don't know why I did not think of this before. I just did a screencapture for Target's "Bonus Black Friday" sale ad for everyone to see. Never know if and when the original page will come down so here you go. You can thank Pickleboy for this.1 point

Sorry gents, going to come in here and change all your hopes and ambitions by saying the next theme should be Zombie Survival. Zombie minifigs. ( Will ALWAYS be popular) Survivor minifigs with reversable heads for after they get infected. Wrecked/Dilapidated buildings (Think what they did with the HH and that fire set with the charred roof, only expanded) Pistols, axes, crowbars, chainsaws, etc. Basically everthing you see in other City sets, avoiding the military weaponry pitfall. Customizable barricades (Tvs, chairs, furniture, wrecked cars, etc) Modular-esque so you can collect them and build a sprawling, linked zombie infested city scene. Possible Zombies vs. Survivors play function or video game tie-in, where purchases can be uploaded or provide characters, etc for the game. Zombies.1 point
