Unless you have an actual store, and are willing to spend a good $15,000 and more and carry 75% of the Lego Themes all small sets included. and you need a Retail sales License that cost about $2,00 plus you have to pay the State sales tax every quarter on your sales, And you can only order the normal regular lego sets that you see in Target, Walmart,Ant Toys R Us, "NO HARD TO FIND AND EXCLUSIVES are not elgible to Buy" In Another words Its a Bust, 2 years ago you could order 20 cases of harry Potter 4842 castles, 20 cases Black Pearl's etc, but those good old days are going. "Now here is a good example take Entertainment Earth, the site that had Buy one get one 50% off, I have an account with them to, had it for 5 years, they are in the same boat thats one reason they had that sale, and they are breaking even or making maybe $5.00 a set, plus they are trying to get rid of all there small sets that nobody wants and they can't sell on Ebay right now or there are selling dirt cheap they use to just order the big sets before to, but no more. And to buy Wholesale from them is a real joke, Amazon is way cheaper." And to be able to carry the Hard to Find Exclusive sets you have to be Amazon, target, walmart, Toys R Us,and a few other outlets that have to order a few hundred grand worth a lego. Sideshow started selling Lego last year they were only going to handle the big $80 and up sets, but when lego told them they had to do the 75% Of there Themes small sets included, they basicially told Lego no deal, Sideshow got the few sets that they did get from somebody else. So anybody that's buying Lego well just get the deals whenever you see them, as for buying Lego Wholesale forget it, its 99% impossible now.

Don't put yourself in the situation of absolutely having to sell by a certain point in time. The lego market is not as predictable as you may think. If the economy tanks, the secondary lego market is flooded by ramped-up lego production/new investors or sets don't EOL when you think they are going to (if I invest 10K in Death Stars then I can double my money by Christmas b/c everybody says they are EOLing this summer!). The good thing about legos is that their investing downside seems less than stocks (you still have a good product in your possession) but you may be put into the situation of having to sell at a loss or carry a significant amount of credit card debt if you start spending money you don't have). By not going into debt while investing you free yourself up to time the resale market as you see fit to maximize your profit.

You should give all of those free stuffs to me. That will show them that you hate TRU so much you won't even accept their free gifts...

If you are going to wait til August be sure and save money for these items as time is running short on all 3 of these. 1-Haunted House 2-Tower Bridge 3-SSDS

It is worth anywhere from $150 to $210 dollars used. (In U.S. dollars.) If you are planning on keeping it or investing with it than I would buy it. I could see this set peaking around $250- $270 dollars used over the next year or two in my opinion. You could also quick flip it for a small profit.

Hi, I'm new to Brickpicker. Obviously as a kid I really enjoyed Lego and have recently rediscovered the joy of Lego! I've been buying sets to both building and as future investments. I'm currently building the Lego Creator buildings - so far I've bought/built the Cinema, Fire Station and I'm currently on the Grand Emporium. Any tips on investing? So today I decided to venture over to to the TRU National Headquarters which is located in Wayne, NJ. My mom and I have friends who work there and I live less than 10 minutes away from it. I went in and asked to see a person who I know and I also asked about Legos. Turns out they keep a bunch of TRU exclusives and various other sets there and a lot of the employees are Lego fanatics. I walked out of there with a bunch of free polybags, and one of each new SW planet sets. My friend also said there are some bigger sets somewhere in the building that just sit there and is going to find some for me. While living in a high population/high wealth area has it's drawbacks (i.e. no large clearance sales), it also has its upsides! I still hate TRU though.

I'm kind of in the same situation, no more free cash for new purchases. But that does not mean I'll stop buying. As an investor you should be constantly evaluating you portfolio and liquidating any poor performing sets in favour of ones where returns will be better. So that's what I'm doing, selling sets where profits have been made and my prediction for their continued growth is less than other sets I want to buy.

I have quite a few sets in my garage and I'm located in Northern California and it does get pretty dang hot here in the summer. I think the important thing isn't so much if the heat is bad for the pieces/sets, it's more important how the sets are stored. Granted, I store all the Green Grocers and other similiar valued sets inside the house(back when there was room), but I have Death Stars, Shuttles, some Turbo Tanks and other large sets out there and I have no problem with them or their seals. I do like the idea of hitting up Uline and storing all of them in boxes, but I can't find the extra room for them all to fit like that. I'd prefer to box them as they sell. Also, I just personally don't like the idea of bagging them. To me, the biggest things to keep in mind if you store sealed sets in your garage are: *Keep them out of the sunlight. I would think that any light coming into the garage--windows or panes in your garage door--will cause the colors to fade. *Be aware of who can see into your garage. I wouldn't like to advertise that hey, here's a house with XXX amound of $$$ sitting in my garage. Use some inexpensive tarps or keep the door closed. *If you use shelving, it's a good idea to pad the bottom with spare cardboard. Better support when the shelf is 18 inches wide but the box is 24 inches wide. *Never allow the boxes to rest on the concrete itself. *Worried about rodents? Get some traps. Not sure if you have rodents? You will know if you do or do not--that's not black rice on your garage floor! *Insure your collection. If it's spilled into the garage, chances are you have a few bucks into them. *Check them periodically. The seals don't just pop overnight. Check to see that they aren't "sliding" or getting loose--usually the flap won't be as tight to the box as the seals start to go. Just some thoughts, I'm sure there's more )

Hi, my name is Michelle, 41 female from Ohio, and this is my first post on any forum ever. I've loved Lego as long as I can remember. I have been on here since Sept. reading everything and really enjoying it, I'm on here everyday. Jeff, Ed thank you for doing this for all of us this site is so great and helpful. My love of Lego started with my brothers who were over a decade older than me, the old red and white Lego they had from the 60s became mine in the 70s. My Mom started buying me Lego sets in 1980, one of the first one's being 6390 Main Street one of my all time favorites. I played with Lego till I was probably fifteen, I never wanted to give up Lego it just happens, I think you trade for a drivers license, lol. In my early 20s I came out of my dark ages for the first time. A lot of my favorite sets are from that period in the first half of the 90s. I love Paradisa I thought it was great, my other favorites at the time were the marina and seaport sets, they had those great dock road/plates, miss those, oh and that was when they had the western theme, just some really great sets. So, I had lots of new l Lego and all my old Lego (Mom made me keep them all separated in there original boxes, everything was pretty much complete). Then life happened the relationship I was in ended, I left and left all my Lego behind. I hurts my entire being every time I think about it. Wow, just when I needed a pick me up the door bell just rang, FedEx with Lego from Amazon . Ok back to the story, I have looked over the years into recollecting all the old sets I lost, finally about three and a half years ago I started collecting again. Now I am investing and I'm getting ready to start parting out some sets. I love the modulars, I have a Green Grocer, wish I knew then what I know now, would have bought extra, and would have bought a CC is was only $400 then and I thought that was crazy then lol. Ok that's enough I could go on forever, looking forward to talking to you all.

Time's going to tell on these sets. I've dug a little deeper, and I'm actually more excited for their investment potential now then I was initially. Disney has pumped 250 million dollars into the film, and with Verbinski directing and Bruckheimer producing (and Zimmer providing the musical score) this film has a lot going for it. If it gets decent reviews and people flock to the theaters to see it ala PotC we could have a monster hit on our hands. Combine that with the fact that the Lego sets are actually quite sharp and stand up perfectly on their own as generic western sets without any movie tie in whatsoever, something we haven't seen in many years, and the stars may be aligning for bigtime moola for us investors. The train in particular could end up being a multi-bagger. As always, I urge caution since audiences and children are fickle, to say nothing of the collector market. We also have many months of sales and discounts to look forward to before these sets go EOL, so don't go rushing off in a panic and start hoarding tonight. Hopefully we'll get some data over the next few months to digest which will give us some solid insight into how these sets are faring at retail, which will offer a glimpse into the future of how they will perform in retirement. I will, however, be taking advantage of any opportunities that arise to get those trains under $80

All i am saying about buying More haunted Houses is you are right who know's when it will retire, but if you have the money to get a few now and then you should, along with a Tower bridge now and then, The batman Arkham Asylum, and the way people talk on here most people don't have any Death Stars. I think when the Retiring soon goes up on the Death star and haunted House, the prices are going go on fire, massive panic buying will take off. And whoever does not have any or just a few of these are going to miss the boat. Most guys on here missed the Boat on the 10179, but you don't want to screw up not having the Death Star,SSDS,Haunted House, Batman Asylum, Helm's Deep, Vampire Castle, Ninjango 9450, falcon 7965, Vokswagen 10220, I have thousands of dollars invested in these. If you are saving money each month I would buy some of the Lego above. I just can't believe anybody on this site does not think the Haunted House and Batman Ayslum will not be a big big Winner, everybody loves Vampires and Monsters, and just look at the $79.99 TRU & Lego Exclusive older Batman Asylum, $500 and up and the new one is way bigger and better. Along with the other sets, The Ninjango 2507 from last year, check ebay now, the 9450 Epic battle will be big next year. last October,November I was on this site telling everybody to get these sets are you will miss the boat. 2507, Black Pearl, Queens Revenge, Potter Castle, 10217 Alley, And last May 4th the Imperial Shuttle was $207 at Lego, looks like not to many people got them, You can't wait for over to hope prices fall 50% or more. Now if you live pay check to pay check well thats different, but if you can afford to buy something now and then you should do it, And I don't mean spend $500 on $10-$20-$30 sets, the big money to be made is from the sets above, and there are more but you can't buy them all.
