sorry Lego but totally dissapointed in these offers.  Rancor Pits and such for 10% off when I get these items at walmart or target for 30 to 40% off.

Darth Revan looks cool but I was looking for something bigger with more umpph.  I was looking forward to getting up at midnight to take a shot at these things.  Now I will wait until the morning and hope they are still there.

The Malevolance is something but I don't think it is enough to make me go Wow! (which I am not doing!!!)

I was pivking up sail barges for 33% and 50% off so Lego's 10% just seems like a let down.

Oh well, you do with what they give you.

This sale is for kids and sw fans. Lego is telling the investors to suck it.

I think you're reading too much into this.  It seems fairly clear at this point that TLG is going to use 50% off sales during May the 4th to clear out old inventory for sets that are retiring.  They did it last year with the B-Wing and are doing it this year with three of the last five remaining white box SW sets on sale.  TLG isn't doing this to give resellers the finger, they are doing it because they have gotten much better with their inventory management and don't need to have sales with the same frequency or depth to clear out old sets.

Historically, the May the 4th sales weren't as deep (generally around 25%), but they did apply to larger sets (MF, AT-OT, etc.).

Also, when SSDs are flying off the shelves at $400 a piece, what is there to clear ??

Right. This is not personal. Just business. This sale is exactly like last years, except there is no B-Wing to jazz it up.

Only downside I see is from a personal collection point of view was I was hoping to at least get a sale on the (not UCS) X-Wing since the original was my favorite toy as a kid.

As a new investor (and trying to keep reactions between the two separate) none of this seems worth writing home about.

Nothing stellar, but didn`t expect there to be. I`ll be watching Hannibal this evening, and the sale should start around that time anyway, so if it does great, otherwise I`ll just keep watching  :ahappy: Definitely ordering something for Revan, that should be a no brainer, $20 fig applied to any exclusive alone is a decent discount. If it`s under $200, it`s better than x2 VIP, and on top of that you get 5% in VIP, so not like there is nothing decent to buy. Maybe they`ll add something at the last minute....

Is TLG going to be selling these Darth Revan minifigs after the giveaway?

There's a $4.99 price showing next to it when you click on "See Details" at S&****

No. That`s the approximate "MSRP" value of the figure. Lego doesn`t sell polybags directly (that I recall at least). The free poster is listed at $0.99 as well, and they definitely won`t sell those either. It`s not going to last the full 3(?) days anyway. Wouldn`t be surprised if they were all gone tomorrow, unless TLC has a mound of them. Even then, they`re not going to last.

I agree.  I wanted a lot more.  Think about it though.  Last Year the B Wing was assailed as a real loser and who would want that dog before they cut it to half price.  Lego must have had warehouse loads to unload and ended it.  Take that set away and this sale is probably better or equal to last years.  it is just everyone was thrilled to get it last year and the UK felt left out.  Now I don't get them getting 15% off in Europe this year on UCS sets, BUT I think the MSRP argument relating to regional currency value being significantly higher outside of the USA is true.  That ties with the fact that the USA is a major consumer of Lego's and they make more off of mass volume at a lower MSRP into a country (USA) that buys up everything and is debt driven.  So I think the 15% off in Europe was leveling the playing field to US regular prices and as a thank you bone to the UK who felt highly disenfranchised with the stark lack of a good item last year to the USA B Wing.  (My post is memory not factual lookup, forgive me if I have an error).  Lets be happy and load up on the 50% offs where possible

No. That's what they charge you if you return stuff you bought to get it free, and don't return it too.
