gregpj Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 It had better not become another 10188. That would suck. Wouldn't really make that much sense either - seems like a much more "collectable" display type piece than the Death Star that has a bagillion minifigs. I have a Tower Bridge and there's just not much playability to it, plus it's a pain in the butt to move, so you would wonder why it's EOL would be 3 years. Figuring out Lego is like trying to figure out my wife - it's impossible. Also, any else think a large scale Sydney Opera house is a dumb idea? I mean it was just released on the small scale Architecture series, and it just seems it would be a boring build. I think the next large scale build that would be cool would be Saint Peter's Basilica, Notre Dame, or the Sagrada Familia. Heck, even a doing the Kremlin would look much cooler than the Sydney Opera House. Thumbs down to the opera house for me. Maybe in 30 years .. It doesn't have enough history yet. Maybe they should release a Hagia Sophia to appease the disgruntled? Nah, it's ugly as sin from the outside. Quote
brickfreeman Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I can't say a lot here without compromising my sources; but I can say that LEGO just produced another run of the Tower Bridge Quote

kerrmando Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I have two different Tower Bridge boxes now too. They each have a different piece count on them. Kind of cool. Lego said it was an internal error. Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I have two different Tower Bridge boxes now too. They each have a different piece count on them. Kind of cool. Lego said it was an internal error. Yep. Just bought one and the piece count is now 4295 right on the box. I don't know why but the Lego store people told me that supposedly Lego made a new one as some pieces from the one set are now discontinued. Don't know if that makes the old tower bridge any rarer... Quote
srm_520 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 So the original box say the piece count is 4287. Does anyone know the timeline when that changed - or did it just happen? I'm interested because errors usually lead to higher demand. Thanks! Quote
kerrmando Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I think it just happened. I now have three older set counts, and one newer one. When I bought the newer one the employee who sold it to me said he didn't think they would get any more with the new set count.. Quote
Daniel304 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 The only changes i can find beteween the two are in the 8 roof tops.. Quote
fabioso79 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've just received another 10214 (got it for 173 Quote

legofreeman Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I was told TLC stopped making a particular element, so they had to redesign the TB; which is why there is a new piece count. Quote
Rich B Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 hmmm I have no idea which piece count I have on my TB's.......probably the 4287 since I've had them for awhile. I'll have to check. Quote
TheDarkness Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I'll be happy when mine arrive and I don't stress about ensuring I have any when it goes EOL. Hopefully we will see at least one more round of heavy discounts with it. Quote
CNH1974 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 So will the ones with the old element be more valuable? Quote
TheDarkness Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I don't believe it will be any more valuable in the scheme of things. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I don't believe it will be any more valuable in the scheme of things.if someone is willing to pay 1 G for a minifig then we should certainly be able to find someone to pay more for this ;) Quote
TheDarkness Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Well true. I have seen someone pay over 1K for a Death Star Playset. Even here the retail is $700, so that was way over. Crazy EDIT: Speaking of which, there is one at $1500 on our local eBay. Ridiculous Quote
jaylay Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 its slowing dropping in price, but whos to say it wont jump back up?! buy now or wait? Quote
ExoBro94 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Yeah, you should definitely wait. $10 is nothing to write home about. Quote
Darth Lego Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I would wait also. That discount is too small IMO. Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 In theory, you should still have plenty of time to pick it up later this year. That being said, the usual discount is around $219, so $ 229 is not bad if you don't have any. Quote
Grolim Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Stay strong, hold out for more. I'd only bite now if we new for certain that it was retiring in the next month. Quote
