Where the heck was I when that happened?!? Oh well. I think I may need to reshift my focus from PC's to TB's.

It was a blip for an hour or so on Walmart.com.  It stayed the same price for a bit, but was out of stock most of the time.  I'm not quite used to the new search functions yet, but I may be able to find the Daily Deals thread from then.  Anyone remember the date?

June 23, 2014. 148.79 before tax. I take good records :-)

8 of my 26 were had at that price.  Walmart cancelled the order on another 8.  That was a good day.

Everybody loves a good discount.

But assuming EOL is coming in the next ~6 months, your CAGR outlook would be just as good or better if you bought now at full MSRP.

I haven't had a chance to go to my local Lego store in Pleasanton, CA for some time now. I'm just curious about the general availability of this set in B&M Lego stores. Are these still in stock? I remember going to my store earlier this year and seeing it on the shelf.

I haven't seen Tower Bridge at my local stores for a couple months now. Last time I saw them on the shelf was this past February at the store in San Diego.

The Toronto Store closest to me has quite a few of them.

(oneknightr, like my comment too buddy)

Status of this set at LEGO Shop at Home US is 'OOS ship in 30 days' for quite a while now. What do you guys think? Is it close to retiring?

This set has been out since Oct 2010 (according to brickset)... so its 5th candle is coming up... The OOS status and reduce inventory in retail outlets seems to suggest signs of retirement... but then looking at all the OOS products at LEGO Shop at Home who knows what Lego is doing.

Maybe not, BUT also highly unlikely that a new version will ever be made either. Good investment.

Nah, they'll release a new one alright, just as soon as the city of London 'releases a new one' (I've been complaining to the UK for years that their Tower Bridge uses boring construction techniques -- blocks of stone? Really?) and is absolutely swarming with outdated minifigs (most of them don't even have leg or back printing -- in this day and age?)...
