TheOrcKing Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Brickset is reporting hearing from various sources that the CUUSOO Back to the Future: Time Machine will be available by August! Come on folks, sing it with me!! Quote
Grolim Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Was just thinking about this set today and wondering when it would be out. Can't wait. Will definitely be buying one for myself and a couple for investment. Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 It seems it is going to be available from July 18th: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-cuusoo-back-to-the-future-delorean-time-machine-set-revealed/ Quote
TheDarkness Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 That's the final product? I thought the Minecraft set looked messy, but this isn't far off it either 1 Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I want to reserve judgement until I get to see it in person, but the first impression I am getting is not the best one... Quote
Diabolos80 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 That thing looks like an angular, half-pinched, sloppy turd. And it's tiny. Doc would be ashamed. I really can't stress enough how disappointed I am. I bet the guy who submitted the idea is pissed, too. Boo this car. 1 Quote
TheOrcKing Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWUP5QxdwPg Looks like I'll end up saying this again, why couldn't it have been this guy's version? > >BTTF DELOREAN by Orion Pax, on Flickr 2 Quote

I bet the guy who submitted the idea is pissed, too. Boo this car. D- sounds like you're feeling a little salty tonight with all the boos. Give the Delorean (and love) a chance! Remember the actual Delorean is kind of a fugly car, too. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Quacs, alright I'll simmer down. But, look at the picture above your post, and tell me you're happy with the one we're getting. Can't do it, can ya? Quote
Quacs Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 > >BTTF DELOREAN by Orion Pax, on Flickr Now that's a Delorean... Quote

Remember the actual Delorean is kind of a fugly car, too. I actually think it is actually worse than how he described. I don't understand their thought process behind it. Obviously it is mainly adults who will be looking at them, considering their nostalgic view of the movie and car. So why produce something so lacklustre? Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I hope everyone thinks its fugly.......more for me!!!! Quote

Ha ha ha!Remember the actual Delorean is kind of a fugly car, too.....Hey! That's John DeLorean's legacy aside from the Pontiac GTO. :cheese: Quote
Grolim Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Does look a little disappointing. would like to see some better pics from different angles though. Regardless I'll be buying one for myself and few to flip/invest. Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I hope everyone thinks its fugly.......more for me!!!! I don't like it at first sight...But that does not mean I won't grab some :money: Quote
Guest eightbrick Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Wow, seems like no one likes it; it's getting crucified on Brickset as well. I don't really mind all the junk in the back, but what bugs me is that they used 3 rows of tiles in the front to get the curves of the car when they could have used an angled roof slope piece. On the plus side, I'm loving the formation of the "windshield". Will definitely be picking one up, possibly in pre-order considering what happened to Minecraft. Quote
Quacs Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Yeah, I think I may play small on this one too. Quote
willy431 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I doubt that is the production picture---Lego wouldn't release a piece of trash like that. I really hope it looks like the one pictured below it. I would rather pay $80 for that model, than pay $10 for the suspected lego official version. I've seen many deloreans in person--and their main feature is the SLOPING hood/windshield--not that awful looking step. I really hope that isn't the real one. They could have made a $100 or $200 set as it will only be adults buying it---using only in house parts. I hope if that is really it, they have some seriously good box art-because that mess has dud written all over it. Quote
sadowsk1 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Eh, I could go either way on it. We'll see what the price tag on it is. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 While I haven't found it personally, it looks like the picture is from a S@H page, in which case that would probably mean that is the finished product. I'm not sure why everyone is so disappointed, this falls in line with the two other cuusoo projects to date, boring!! Quote
Diabolos80 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I agree, the only one i like is the one i can't afford, the Shinkai 6500. It's small too, but it looks like a nice display piece. The DeLorean looks like a Lego knockoff you'd find at the dollar store or the Asian black market. Quote
willy431 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 EXACTLY. Every time I look at it.....I see kreo. Quote
legopocalypse Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Wow what garbage that looks like. What a shame as I'm a huge bttf fan as well. That Orion Pax version looks so much better. Anyone have instructions on how to build that one? I'd like to buy a bunch of the cuusoo one to resell and the better looking one to build. Quote
