nolanfan34 Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Still a ton of these available at TRU in the Seattle area, which is weird, because stuff seems to go fast around here. Quote
spener90 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Still a ton of these available at TRU in the Seattle area, which is weird, because stuff seems to go fast around here. That is odd. All of the ones around me cleared them out. Quote
nolanfan34 Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Yeah, I can't figure it out either. there are a lot of Brickpickers in the area, so either they have missed them, or we are all down on them for some reason lol. Quote
Sozial Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Today I was at our lego Shop here in germany, everything from the MF line except the HH is on clearance, so I guess it is official that it is retired. There are 2 vcs in Frankfurt left for -30% in Case someone wants them. I skipped them because I got way to much VCS stored! Quote
LegoPizza Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 It has 'retired product' status in Australia Lego Shop at Home so i'd say you're right! Quote
rcdb1984 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 what a steal if it wasn't OOS http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Vampyre-Castle-9468 Quote
Greedoshotfirst Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Drooling over that price as I just spent $103 on TRU.Wish I could find me someone to price match that. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I've tried at one TRU, and they won't. I'm hoping to hit another one this weekend and give it a try there, too. Quote
Greedoshotfirst Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I also tried and had no luck. I think it all depends on the person you get Quote
DarthDrake Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 You all aren't going to believe this, but I literally read this post about an hour and a half ago. I saw the advertised price on Lego.com and my eyes popped out of my head because I knew my Toys R Us had four of them. So I called them to ask if they would price match Lego.com and after some unsurity they said that they would. I didn't tell them exactly what I was looking for though. I live close to an hour away from my Toys R Us and had to be there before 9. I did Mach 3 trying to get there fast enough. when I got there I got a cart and casually strolled over to the Lego aisle. I got every last one of their vampyre castles, (4). I then went to the cash register and told them I had talked to the manager, who said that they would price match Lego.com. She said it was me that you talk to and we will, that she just had to see the ad and asked, "How much were they?".. I said "$24.98" smiling like the cheshire cat. She said, "Well I told you we would, we have to do it." I got 4 9468 for $109.16 with tax! This is my first big score, as I just started investing a couple of months ago. Pictures to come with the receipt as soon as I get home. (I'm writing this from the parking lot LOL) 3 Quote
BrickLegacy Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Congratulations! Without pics it didn't happen Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Congrats! Now, my big question...was the TRU near a Lego Store? Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker Quote
rcdb1984 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I called mine and they laughed....nice lucky score. Quote
DarthDrake Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'm back! Thanks guys. That was a rush. @Alpine. No the nearest Lego store is in the next state. How do I post pics? Quote

Pseudoty Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 My TRU only let me get 2 this way per their PM policy. I know it also says item has to be in stock but manager looked and saw it said sold out and matched it anyway. They still have 3 left on the shelf Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I asked because I've struck out locally, but I'm going to be near some TRUs that are near Lego Stores tomorrow. So, thought I'd give it a try. Quote
DarthDrake Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 It was a young girl who was the manager, which was good.... because if it had been different they probably would have balked. She said she had to see the price, I just held up my phone and showed her. Then she had that look on her face like she'd been taken. I'm just glad to get them at this price. Whether or not Lego pulls a fast one and brings them back at some point, I'll still make some money. Quote
