The 9V trains like the Santa Fe series(10020, 10133, 10022, 10025, etc...) are valuable. Most sold for $40 new and now sell for $250+++++.

I agree. The 9V subtheme of Lego trains is the way to go. Trains like the Emerald Night 10194 and the new Maersk Train 10219 are still available at reasonable prices.

I really love the Maersk train. Love the color. The whole look.

Emerald night is the only one i own and probably will never own any others. Maersk is a nice looking trains, i own for investment purpose only.

Trains appreciate very well. The Emerald Night and Maersk will do very well in the secondary market. The older Sante Fe trains have appreciated very very well, but they might be too pricey now to buy. MSRP on those sets was $40. They now sell for $300+ MISB.

The Maersk is a nice train. It will definitely do well in the secondary. I have 2 of them. I also like the emerald night. Just haven't got around to pick it up! Can't go wrong with that classy old feel that it has. I'm feeling the Ghost Train also from Monster Fighters!!!! Just looks so dam cool. I'm growing toward that theme a lot now. Something about them Monsters!!!

Does everyone think the new Horizon Express will be a solid investment????

Yeah you have a year or two before needing to pick up any of the Horizon Express sets, i would focus on the maersk train for now

You can still pick up an emerald night for just under 200.00 cool train and the price should head north from there.

Yeah that is surprising, its hands down the best steam train lego has made but it really hasent seen the ROI i expected for a whole year of retirement.

I agree it's the best steam train Lego has ever made, and don't worry it will contionue to increase in value over the next year or two!
