Ed Mack Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Just sayin.' I love this set(10230)! http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=10230-1 I see a big appreciation future in these minis! Quote
force392 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Great design. Very creative. Must buy IMO. Quote
TheLegoGuido Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Combine the minis with the matching full sized ones and sell them on Ebay for a killing! Quote
Maxou594 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 c'est vrai que les ensemble au dessus de 10000 sont interressant Quote
timinchicago Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I am not super thrilled with the mini mod set and have not decided if I am going to get it. For one thing I only have 3 of the sets depicted and do not plan to get the other two (Cafe Corner & Market Street). I also just find Market Street out of place and somewhat off putting. Now if they were to release a mini mod set that includes the Pet Shop and Town Hall then I would most likely get it. Quote

It is really not a 'modular building,' but a FACTORY set. Both the Cafe Corner and Market Street are in the price stratosphere now and basically out of reach and/or a poor investment for most collectors at this stage. Quote
Doofy McGee Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 In general, are these successful? Are people buying or interested in them? Any investment potential here? Just looking for thoughts in general. Quote

Ed Mack Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 But the are an exclusive for VIP members only, so that might help future values and the current CAGR is 22%, so that is pretty good. I would get at least one. Quote
Doofy McGee Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Cool, thanks Ed. I didn't realize they were limited to VIP members only. Any kind of limitations seem to help the exclusivity factor. Quote
Danny Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Count me as one of the folks he doesn't care about this one. I love the modular buildings and when I got the VIP email showing off this set I was grinning ear to ear. After it sank in and I studied the photos, I realized it was all small pieces and not the sort of thing I am really in to. In fact I know this is stupid, but I kind of wished they wouldn't have released it. It disrupts my Modular Collecting and my desire to have every other large exclusive set. So I label this one as a pass, and it might be regretted later, because I am sure it will hold value, but its not one I would ever look forward to building... Quote
Huskers1236 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 While I don't want to keep these sets, I do believe that the mini modulars will do well. I also think they will keep adding to them, coming out with Pet Shop, Town Hall, and the modulars not yet released that you can add to your "mini" town just like the regular modulars. Of course, you will be able to add those for probably $20/piece vs. $150-200 for the regular release. Quote
bibious Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Are these sets being retired? Anyone have information or details on a run time for something like this set? According to Brickset.com the available time for these in the US lego.com site is from Jan 2011 to Nov 25 2012. Quote
Ed Mack Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 Brickset's data is not correct on EOL information at times. It is difficult to track that information because LEGO does not release it, so if a set is sold out, it shows up as EOL on the Brickset site. The Mini Modulars are not EOL: 10230 Mini Modulars Price $79.99 Out of stock, expected ship date 15 Dec 2012 Quote
Desultor Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I don't know if it's possible, but it would be interesting to know the history of a set going in and out of stock. Quote

I personally hope they will continue to add the minis along with the Modular series so that you can have both, and 10230 was the starting point to help catch up. Thus, they would add Pet Shop, Town Hall, etc., as the modulars are built. Am I reading too much into this? Quote

It could be the next mini set in the continuing Modular theme, making this one even more valuable. LEGO has an excellent track record of replicating larger sets into mini ones and coming up with new sets that work with older ones. This is a perfect example of a surefire winner in my opinion. Quote

Tracking this sort of data is useful. We just need time to create the application. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 It seems ever since Lego released that set of Mini Modulars, many a MOCer have designed and built their own mini sized modulars. While I do like the larger scale designs, some of these mini builds are quite nicely detailed and do look the part.I'm just wondering, what do you think about mini modular builds? Quote
TheDarkness Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 The mini-modular do look cool. I have the set and think it does look pretty detailed for what it is. But I don't know where it fits in my collection if at all, hence it will probably be sold if the price jumps. Quote
sadowsk1 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I like them but not enough to purchase any. I would have thought the Lego group would include a mini modular with their full modulars to add onto it. IE a mini modular Palace Cinema to attach onto the street. Quote
