Bold-Arrow Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Klose is a monster, I remember when he had fun against Saudi Arabia in 2002 at the Sapporo Dome IIRC. Also, he doesn't have a lot of competition on the Mannschaft, that's good for him and bad for the team, it's the only weak link I can think of on Germany. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker The back line is far from impressive, they could have easily conceded 2 to 3 goals yesterday if Armenia had they habetter finishers. better teams will not be as forgiving. I think Boatang will go better in center of defense along with Mert. Lahm and Durm on the flanks . The later is a risk choice but he got what it takes. Not seeing the Lahm as DM experiment panning out well. Quote
Crustybeaver Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 This is why I was waiting for the contest. Contest? It's a tournament not a beauty pageant Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Contest? It's a tournament not a beauty pageant CR7 would disagree.. Dniim was referring to the bp WC contest Quote
Crustybeaver Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Dniim was referring to the bp WC contest Ah.. I thought it was an Americanism Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Contest? It's a tournament not a beauty pageant Yeah I was referring to why I was waiting to make my pics for the tournament. Because there is literally always a good team that loses a huge player right before it starts. Quote
Anakinisvader Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Soccer is for the kids that weren't good enough to make the Football or Baseball teams. On a side note: Any stadiums burn down yet? Quote

Crustybeaver Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Here we go with the futile debate... Nah I'm just having a laugh, no harm. I'll leave the mass debating for others ;) Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 I think it is only fair that we will be posting results and comments as they happen live. Anyone recording the matches or would like to remain oblivious to the results might want to ignore the thread. Now then, lets get the show under way Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The 2014 WC theme song (by Pitbull & Jlo) is so weak compared to 2010's Wavin' Flag by K'naan. The chant will always be "ole ole ole ole" and NOT "ole ole ole ola" :D Quote

M4x18 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 And so, 3 weeks of short sleep begin today. As for today's game, I think Croatia can give Brazil a run for their money. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote

ISO8T0 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Ugh. Going to be in a car. May have to use Justin.tv Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 An unconvincing Brazil wins on a bad call, that's how I would summarize the game. Not bad for an opener though. Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Good stuff ... Big one tomorrow. Gonna have to record that one and probably miss the other two. Damn work. Quote
M4x18 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Brazil got a free pass to the round of 8, where I think they'll be eliminated. They played poorly, nothing like the Brazil of previous World Cups. And a questionable referee. Sad Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote
M4x18 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 One thing, had Brazil not won yesterday, most of sauromosis' contest entries would've been busted, as Brazil would have had to - theoretically - play Spain in the round of 16. Quote
