Hi, I picked this up years ago at a yard sale.  Was saving for unknown reasons.  But my girls want a train so I thought i might try trading it, but have No Idea if it is complete.  I do not want to open the bag's to check. does any one know if it is missing anything.

ya, number of bag's is what is killing me, can not find it any were. I don't want to say it's complete if it's not.  If I can not figure it out, i'll toss it back into the closet to deal with another time.

Count the pieces, if you're carefull you can do it without opening the bags.

I'm not sure if sets from that era show a parts list in the instructions, if it does make a photocopy and check off as you go.

I am not sure I have that level of patience. The box says 412 pieces. brickset says 428.

If I need to go that far, I will wait for a time I am bored out of my mind and going crazy tiring to find some thing to do.

Just go through the instructions, if you can see most pieces in the bags it's complete. It looks complete to me, you have a bag of smll pieces, all large pieces are there, there's a bag of plates etc.
