obradkenobi21
I am a new lego investor within the last year however, I'd like to think of myself as pretty smart when it comes to buying them on the budget that I have. I see people writing on here how they have 30 of one set or the guy who got 100 VH. What would you give as advice as far as where, or what to pick up. I see a lot of people stating they got amazing deals on some lego's but wondering where these occur as all the places I ever look I find nothing like what I read. The set I have the most of would be the Spidey Chase which I have 9 of I typically go for 3 of each. Thanks for your input and advice in advance! exciter1
Read the Daily Deals... Yes, if you browse through the days, you can see what people are buying.
Achilles
A lot of the standard new investor advice applies: A: How much $ do you have to invest, B: How long do you mind waiting, C: How much risk are you willing to take? Those are some of the three big questions one should ask first.
obradkenobi21
I put money away and buy when I see the deals. My Brickfolio is now over $4k and I have just over a 100 sets. I do look at brickpicker daily, I check out online Walmart, Target, TRU and also go to those stores usually weekly I also do what I call Lego Hunting once a month where a friend and I travel over 100 miles away and try to find the deals. Achilles
There's a lot of luck+diligence for some folks (Like getting 90 Vampyre hearses), but basically if there's something red hot, it will be posted in the daily deals. Check it as often as you can.
obradkenobi21
I forgot to mention I am planning on holding on to a lot of my sets for a while unless I feel the time is right to sell. I have Superhero sets, LOTR, Hobbit, City, Technics, TMNT, Creators, Star Wars, Monster Fighters, and even Sponge Bob
Achilles
If you have a fair amount of money to invest, and plan on holding, personally I'd focus more on the exclusives, esp the ones that might retire first. It sounds like you have a decent budget and time to wait. Larger sets = safer, and generally less work.
obradkenobi21
I appriciate that advice Brickulator I've been contemplating the Exclusives also. You just never get a good discount off the purchase. I actually have in my shopping cart, another R2D2, 2- Monster Fighter Haunted Houses and those 2- of those Camel planes.
